Chapter 257 Out of Control

Gabriel quietly gazed at her with a few buttons of his shirt undone, subtly revealing his collarbone.

Gabriel's collarbone could look so good, even making his mouth dry.

At this moment, Jessica suddenly felt a sexual desire towards Gabriel.

"Not feverish anymore?"

"Yeah."

She had been recovering from her illness here for two days. If the fever persisted, the flu virus would have been too severe.

Seeing that Jessica's condition had indeed improved, he held her waist with one hand and said in a deep voice, "I've been feeding you so diligently, yet you've lost weight. What do you want to eat?"

Jessica felt like she was being fed like a pig these past few days. Even though she didn't eat much each time due to her discomfort, she still managed to eat five or six meals a day. However, she still lost weight.

"I'm not hungry yet, no rush for food."

Gabriel's tranquil eyes looked at her. Because of their close embrace, he suddenly let out a deep, short chuckle. Their bodies pressed together, and she could clearly feel the vibration in his chest as he laughed.

"I'm in a rush."

Gabriel's words had a double meaning.

As Gabriel was about to kiss her, Jessica suddenly pushed his shoulder, saying, "I stayed with you when my cold was at its worst, but you didn't get infected. You have such a good physique. Were you just pretending to be in pain or fainting before?"

Gabriel didn't say anything, just looked at her incessantly talking mouth, silently reiterating his earlier words with his eyes.

In her impression, Gabriel had always been stoic and restrained, yet ever since returning from Sunshine Bay City, Jessica felt she could no longer handle Gabriel's so-called "not holding back anymore."

Her hand on his shoulder was in the way, so Gabriel lifted her hand away and kissed her while wrapping his arms around her completely.

Jessica couldn't avoid it, making a few muffled sounds before Gabriel scooped her up by the waist.

As her feet left the ground, Jessica's heart raced wildly, her face and heart heating up. It wasn't that she resisted, but she had heard that the flu virus was most contagious just before recovery. Was Gabriel determined to catch the flu with her?

Gabriel carried her towards the bedroom, and as Jessica let out a low moan from being kissed, he abruptly pressed her down onto the passing sofa.

He watched her being sick for two days.

He saw her sleep in his arms in a daze for two days.

Jessica could clearly feel his patience and accommodation during her worst days of illness. To reduce her fever, he held her burning body under the covers for two whole nights.

During that time, how many times did he take cold showers? Jessica couldn't remember clearly in her foggy state, but it was definitely more than three times.

She was pressed into the wide, soft sofa, initially trying to avoid infecting him by shrinking her head away, then gradually giving up resistance, and finally, her hands unconsciously climbed onto his shoulder andneck and grabbed his collar, tentatively responding.

Gabriel paused slightly, and the following time vividly illustrated what it meant to lose control like a burning city gate.

Jessica's phone, casually placed on the coffee table when she came out of the bedroom, suddenly rang. Instinctively, she wanted to answer it.

Gabriel turned her face back to kiss her continuously. On the winter night, the window was cold and bright, with moonlight streaming in through the spacious floor-to-ceiling windows. The room was brightly lit, but all she could see was the shadow cast by Gabriel enveloping her, the atmosphere heating up like a small fireball.

Jessica's thoughts were almost detached from being kissed, her hand wanting to climb onto him but weakly and helplessly clutching his shirt sleeve, sinking deeper into the sofa, all thoughts thrown to the back of her mind.

Yet, the phone kept ringing, ringing for a long time, stopping, and then ringing again after a few seconds, continuing for several minutes.

Who was calling? Was it urgent?

Could it be something important?

In her chaotic thoughts, she was repeatedly pulled back by the ringing, reluctantly reaching out and fumbling towards the coffee table for a long time. Instead of the phone, she first knocked over a water cup on the table. With a 'bang,' the cup fell onto the carpet, not breaking but spilling a considerable amount of water, some of which splashed onto Jessica's hand.

"Ah," Jessica instinctively exclaimed.

Gabriel immediately let go of her. Seeing the scene on the coffee table, he quickly pulled her hand up. "Did it burn you?"

"No, the water in the cup was boiled this afternoon, it's cold now," Jessica said while hurriedly picking up the phone. Seeing it was an unknown number with three or four missed calls, she quickly answered.

"Hello, is this Ms. Jenner?" a strange male voice asked.

"What's the matter?" Jessica asked cautiously, not answering directly.

"Oh, well. Sorry for disturbing you with several calls, Ms. Jenner. I'm the property manager of Blue Bay Apartments. A Mr. Jenner wants to see you. His car is parked downstairs, and his secretary is waiting here. He clearly stated that his daughter lives here. According to our property records, Ms. Jenner, you have indeed been living on the thirty-first floor of Blue Bay Apartments recently. Normally, if a stranger visits, we wouldn't disturb the owner without their consent. But Mr. Jenner's secretary said Mr. Jenner is your father and mentioned that he is the CEO of Sunroy Group. Principally, we can't easily let outsiders into the apartment, but since he insisted on seeing you, we decided to call and ask, should we let him in? Or, would you come downstairs? Mr. Jenner is in the car, and his secretary is beside him. Should I pass the phone to him?"

Eugene?

Last time, Donna managed to put a tracker on Mackenzie's car, leading them near here. Jessica knew that even if these people couldn't enter Blue Bay Apartments, it wouldn't be a secret that she lived here anymore.

She glanced at Gabriel, who casually picked up the fallen glass from the carpet and placed it back on the coffee table.

The room was quiet, and Jessica didn't deliberately lower the phone volume, so he must have heard.

"Sorry, he's not my father," Jessica said coldly and indifferently into the phone, "If this person comes again, just kick them out."

"But..."

"Blue Bay Apartments is a high-end place. If an owner is harassed by outsiders, filing a complaint against the property management is quite easy," Jessica said coldly, "Your property management company wouldn't want to be sued casually, right? After all, in a place where every inch of land is worth gold, the property fees are sky-high. Other places don't offer such good treatment."
