Chapter 535 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 20
Jessica decided not to help in the kitchen but instead messaged Amy on Facebook to ask what dishes she was preparing for the evening.
Amy sent her a few photos of the ingredients provided by the show. After carefully examining them, Jessica found some simple recipes online that would suit everyone's tastes and sent them to Amy. She also recorded a voice message explaining how to measure the seasonings, control the heat, and other important cooking details.
Although they didn't have to cook, everyone was expected to have dinner together in the small courtyard of the guesthouse. This meant they needed to bring out the long table, chairs, and tableware from inside.
Brent and Clayton, the two men staying on the first floor, had already started moving things outside. Gabriel saw them and got up to help.
"No need, we got this," Brent said with a cheerful smile, trying to stop him. Brent's muscular arms showed he was a fitness enthusiast, likely a stunt actor who took his physique seriously. His skin was tanned, probably from a recent outdoor shoot. Despite his rugged appearance, his eyes revealed a straightforward and simple nature.
Because he was young, he had encountered many powerful people in the industry and instinctively felt a sense of fear. Even though Gabriel's physique and looks were on par with theirs, his demeanor still made them see him as part of the elite. They wouldn't show it, but they were cautious not to offend him and hesitant to trouble him.
Gabriel didn't waste words. He brushed aside Brent's hand and said just one word, "Together."
Brent was momentarily stunned but then nodded, withdrew his hand, and continued moving the table and chairs without further politeness.
Clayton chuckled and said as they moved things together, "Mr. Harriman, is this your first time on a show like this?"
After asking, Clayton kept smiling but internally regretted it, thinking he might not get a response or might be ignored.
To his surprise, Gabriel not only responded but did so with a calm and composed sentence, like a man casually chatting with another, "Yes, it is. I usually don't have much time."
As he finished speaking, the three of them carried out the heavy table, about 12 feet long and 4.5 feet wide. Gabriel then stepped back, his gaze clear and serene. He gave off the impression that, in this show, there was no need to see him as an untouchable CEO. However, he naturally didn't have the habit of getting overly familiar with strangers. So, everyone could interact with him as they normally would, as long as they didn't force unnecessary closeness.
Men often share similar thoughts and personalities. Clayton and Brent, being actors, had certain personas to maintain, unlike Gabriel, who was more self-assured. They sought more screen time and exposure, while Gabriel's purpose for being there was simply to spend more time with Jessica. Their different goals naturally led to different on-screen dynamics.
Ironically, fans nowadays loved this kind of unpretentious persona. Gabriel's aloof attitude, free from the need to please directors, fans, or advertisers, made fans drool over him even more. Despite his efforts to blend into the small "team," his innate elegance and clarity still captivated the audience.
