Chapter 556 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 41
On the way back, the crowd of onlookers didn't thin out; if anything, it seemed to be growing. Most of them were probably drawn by the commotion after waking up. This time, there were more young people, all energetic and holding their phones, pushing forward.
The security guards were doing their best to hold them back. Jessica wasn't touched by anyone as Gabriel guided her out of the crowd's range. When they reached another street corner, she turned around and saw Lester accepting a cup of milk tea from a female fan, smiling and greeting her warmly. He then brought the milk tea over to Rachel, who had also made it out of the crowd.
Rachel glanced at the milk tea, noticing a small heart-shaped note from the fan that read: [Jessica, keep going! I'll always be your little fan.]
Rachel had no intention of accepting the milk tea. After seeing the note, she looked even more disgusted, as if it were a cup of acid, and walked away.
Lester was clearly trying to use this opportunity to make amends with Rachel. Seeing her reaction, he frowned and didn't bother her further. He then noticed Jessica and Gabriel ahead and approached them. "Hey, Ms. Jenner, want some milk tea? A fan gave it to me, but I'm not really into it."
"Milk tea's nice, but it's too fattening. I don't drink it," Jessica said with a smile, waving her hand. She then pointed to the other side. "Amy was just saying yesterday that she probably won't get to drink milk tea anytime soon. Ask her if she wants it. But it's best to be cautious with things from fans; make sure it's safe first."
Lester nodded, and after considering the safety, he decided not to give it to anyone else. When they got close to the inn, he threw the milk tea into a trash can.
To save on expenses, everyone bought relatively cheap breakfast items that could last until lunch. According to the director's plan, everyone was supposed to take their food back to their rooms, eat breakfast, and then pack up for the day's activities.
But Cindy suggested that they all eat together, and everyone agreed enthusiastically, bringing their food to the table they had used the night before.
Melissa and Brent felt a bit embarrassed.
Melissa said, "We shouldn't join. I spent so much money just because I was craving something. It's not right to eat your food."
"It's fine. We're traveling together, and we might all face different situations. Helping each other is just the beginning. Even if our budget is zero, we're still teammates," Jessica said with a smile, placing an extra vegetarian meal she had bought in front of Brent. "Besides, everyone's appetite is usually light in the morning. We'll eat something simple and save the rest for lunch. Cindy and I have already planned to cook for everyone at noon."
Brent was touched that Jessica had bought him a meal and immediately bent down to thank her. "Ms. Jenner, you're beautiful and kind! May you have a lifetime of peace and happiness!"
Jessica had just sat down to drink some milk and was almost startled into spitting it out by Brent's words. She glanced at him incredulously and, amidst the laughter of the others, gave Melissa a look. "Quick, get your husband to sit down and eat. Don't give me this nonsense. If there's a game task later that needs your help, I'll have to use this favor to boss you around. Why are you thanking me now?"
"Exactly. Ms. Jenner is so smart and married to Mr. Harriman. She wouldn't make a losing deal," Rachel said, sipping her almond milk through a straw.
