Chapter 123 His Hand Reached Out and Pulled Her into the Elevator Directly
"Should I go up and help you move, or should I accompany you to go up and move?" Gabriel looked at her, not giving her a third choice.
Jessica raised her eyebrows. "Do we have to do it now?"
"How long do you want to continue being followed by people?" Gabriel's tone was now very direct, full of warning. "Until Danielle appears in the frame, affecting your own work life, and at the same time affecting Danielle's innocent and undisturbed kindergarten life, do you want to be blocked in the corridor time and time again by people for various reasons?"
No matter what she said now, it seemed like she was in the wrong.
Before, she hadn't been exposed in the media, but now, one thing after another was reminding her that she must move out of this place immediately. Otherwise, she wouldn't have messaged Mackenzie on WhatsApp saying she wanted to find a house, but recently, she had been too busy to spare the energy to finalize the move.
It was late at night now. Where could she go to live?
Jessica asked, "Do we really have to move now?"
Gabriel glanced at her indifferently, obviously thinking she was talking nonsense.
Jessica was very tired, but she felt that if she didn't agree to pack up and move now, she would probably be trapped in his car and have to sleep there all night, so she might as well quickly pack up and find another place to sleep.
Back at her own door, Jessica took out her keys to open the door.
Upon entering, she was momentarily unsure of where to start cleaning up. She planned to pack some essential items and clothes she needed to wear recently in the suitcase first, then take some of Danielle's clothes, and that would be about it. The rest could be moved after settling down completely.
And even if she didn't live in this house, she didn't plan to sell it immediately. Some things that were not urgently needed could be left here for now, as they wouldn't be lost anyway.
"I'll pack my things myself. You can sit down." Jessica turned to Gabriel, who had entered the door and pointed to the sofa.
Gabriel didn't sit down. Instead, when he lowered his gaze, he saw the cardboard box that she had kicked last time still in the master bedroom. It was something he hadn't intended to take away, and she hadn't taken it out to deal with yet.
She had said she would throw it away, but she hadn't done so yet.
Jessica first ran back to the main bedroom to open the closet and get clothes. After taking out a few pieces and neatly folding them into the suitcase that had just been opened, she turned and went into the bathroom to tidy up.
Gabriel entered the master bedroom, casting a glance at the all-too-familiar bed. . The large white bear that used to be placed there was now back in its original position.
The wardrobe door was ajar, revealing a mess of clothes Jessica had left in disarray due to her rush and lack of time. Gabriel caught sight of a trophy in her wardrobe, submerged in clothes, only revealing a corner of gold.
When he lived in her house, even when Jessica wasn't home, he had never opened her closet or touched her things.
Gabriel was about to stride forward with his long legs when Jessica suddenly dashed out from the bathroom. Making her way to the cabinet side with a look of embarrassment on her face, she uttered, "Um, could you please turn around while I grab a few pieces of undergarments?"
Upon hearing her words, Gabriel cast a glance at her.
Jessica stood her ground, refusing to move, simply gazing at him in return.
She found it hard to believe that his usual gentlemanly demeanor would suddenly deviate to the extent of harboring any perverse thoughts about seeing her emerge with a pile of undergarments.
It wasn't until Gabriel turned his gaze towards the bed that Jessica swiftly and deftly opened the drawers in the cabinet, pulling out all the undergarments stashed inside. She then gathered the pile of items, proceeding to the living room sofa, where she began to neatly stack and arrange them.
Gabriel only turned back around upon hearing the commotion in the living room. He noticed a few certificates in the open drawer, and among them was a blue background photo of Jessica when she was probably seventeen or eighteen years old. Jessica had her hair styled high, wearing a standard dance costume, with fair skin like snow, a graceful swan-like neck, captivating collarbones, clear bright eyes, and a confident and elegant smile facing the camera.
The certificate was for the official dance competition Lotus Cup in the country, including that trophy and other certificates, which she had obtained from various dance competitions when she was in her teens, most of which were championships or gold awards.
Jessica had never mentioned that she could dance. Gabriel had inadvertently seen her personal resume placed on the dining table, and she hadn't included these honors from her teenage years, only mentioning her academic achievements in Country M.
Many of the awards she possessed were things that thousands of girls dedicated to dancing might not achieve even after ten years of hard work and prestigious honors in the field of dance.
During her teenage years, she had achieved many honors, but now Jessica seemed to have forgotten and never mentioned them, burying all of this at the bottom of the drawer.
Jessica called out from the living room as she packed, "Okay, I'll take these things first. Two suitcases should be enough."
Gabriel calmly set down the items from the drawer and walked out of the main bedroom. He saw that Jessica had already filled the suitcases and had placed his coat on the back of the sofa.
She had put on another coat herself, one hand holding the handles of the two suitcases and the other holding a small bag, obviously not planning to take too many things with her.
At the same time, she gestured with her eyes for him to put the coat back on. It was colder outside now than before, and although he did look good in a shirt, he couldn't sacrifice warmth for style, especially since she had borrowed it for so long.
Jessica curiously asked, "Where do you intend for me to stay? If not a hotel, where else can I go?"
After putting on his clothes, Gabriel adjusted his collar slightly. Throughout, he did not mention Jessica's deliberately buried past in the drawer. He walked over, took the handle of her luggage, and headed towards the elevator in the parking lot.
"Where are we going?" Jessica jogged to catch up with Gabriel, who was tall with long legs. She had to run to keep up when he walked fast.
A black Bentley entered the underground parking lot of Blue Bay Apartments.
When Jessica saw the car driving in, she noticed the location and the sign of Blue Bay Apartments nearby.
If she remembered correctly, this was near his company.
As the car stopped, Jessica spoke before Gabriel got out of the car, "Do you think I am able to casually live in a high-end apartment in the city center like you? I can't afford the rent here! I won't stay!"
Gabriel unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the trunk, and took her luggage out.
Seeing Gabriel carrying her luggage towards the parking lot elevator, Jessica hurriedly got out of the car to catch up. "I said I won't stay here, forget it, I'll find a hotel myself, don't..."
The elevator door opened, and Gabriel turned to her. "I promised to repay a hundredfold. If you don't take the money and don't want the things. It wouldn't be excessive to arrange a place for you to stay."
Jessica said, "That makes sense, but..."
Gabriel didn't give her a chance to saybut, his free hand reached out and pulled her into the elevator directly.
