Chapter 553 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 38
The camera was set up right there, with a crowd gathered around. Suddenly, a little girl, about three or four years old, cautiously poked Jessica's shoulder with her finger.
Jessica turned around and saw the little girl holding a piece of candy her mom had just given her. The girl looked at Jessica curiously, and as soon as Jessica turned her head, she broke into a big smile and held out the candy to her. "Miss, have some candy."
Jessica, always delighted by little kids, smiled warmly and said softly, "My daughter is older than you, so you should call me 'Madam.' Thank you for the candy, but you should eat it yourself. Just remember to rinse your mouth afterward so you don't get cavities."
Since entering the market, Gabriel had been keeping Jessica close, making sure no one touched her. When he saw it was just a child and noticed Jessica didn't mind, he didn't intervene. Watching Jessica's patient and affectionate interaction with the little girl, Gabriel couldn't help but think of their daughter, Danielle. A subtle smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
Today, they weren't live-streaming but recording instead. The crowd was too large, and unexpected situations could arise at any moment. To ensure the safety of the celebrity guests, the director had arranged a separate area where no bystanders could enter, allowing them to shop in peace. Only a portion of the footage would be used, as continuing to be surrounded by the crowd posed potential risks.
Gabriel stayed close to Jessica the entire time, while the security guards, finding themselves somewhat redundant, tried to protect Gabriel instead. They kept shouting to the crowd, "Please make way, let them through. We can't continue filming if you block the way. Please move aside!"
"Jessica, Jessica, I love you so much!"
"Jessica, I'm your fan! I watched your show yesterday. Your husband is so handsome. Mr. Harriman, Mr. Harriman, can I get your autograph?"
"Is that the famous Gabriel? Oh my God, he's even more handsome in person! So tall and good-looking!"
Jessica occasionally looked up and smiled politely at the people greeting her. Some tried to give her small gifts, unlike the usual fanfare with elaborate presents. These people offered little items from their bags or treats they had bought at the market. Some young students even handed over notebooks and pens, hoping for autographs.
But the situation was too chaotic to stop. Jessica could only smile apologetically as Gabriel and the security guards led her out of the crowd and into the area the director had arranged.
"This is delicious. I haven't had it in years," Melissa said excitedly as she spotted a stall selling red bean cakes. She pulled Brent over and pointed at the steaming cakes. "This is what I used to have at my grandma's house when I was a kid. You can't find these anywhere. They look so good."
Several other celebrities gathered around, intrigued. Brent looked at the seemingly ordinary red bean cakes and asked, "How much?"
