Chapter 461 Just Try Not Coming Home

The family banquet wrapped up late at night. After saying goodbye to the guests, only a handful of close relatives from the Harriman family stuck around, planning to crash at the mansion.

Jessica headed back to her room to take off her makeup and grab a bath. She wasn't super tired yet, so she pulled out her script from her bag and sprawled out on the bed to read it.

But she barely got through a page when Gabriel, fresh out of the shower, took the script from her and said, "It's late. Read it tomorrow."

"I've got scenes to shoot in the morning. 'Shadow Kill' is almost done, and I still haven't memorized some lines."

"You've been going non-stop all day. Trying to cram now won't help. You need rest to be sharp tomorrow."

Jessica joked, "Gabriel, are you trying to make me rely on you for everything?"

"So what? I can take care of you."

"I don't want you to take care of me." Jessica grabbed the script back but didn't open it. Instead, she tossed it on the bedside table, hugged a pillow, and smiled at him. "I never thought someone as composed as you would show affection in front of your parents, especially without considering Kimberly's feelings."

"Do I need to show affection? Isn't it natural to protect you?"

Gabriel didn't argue. Jessica noticed the softness in his eyes as he leaned in. She secretly enjoyed the scent of his body wash, the same as hers. Suddenly, the pillow she was hugging was pulled away.

The pillow ended up under her waist, the blankets got all tangled, and their silhouettes blended into one in the night.

The bathroom floor was wet, the mirror fogged up, and their senses heightened.

Their breaths were all over the place, sometimes low, sometimes high. Their bodies and minds got closer, and it felt like their souls were touching. In moments of intense sensation, she bit her lip, her mind blank, with a blush spreading across her face.

Later, she begged for mercy, her voice hoarse. Exhausted, she hid her head under the pillow, refusing to move.

Before falling asleep, Jessica had a fleeting thought, 'They hadn't used contraception recently. Could she be...?'

But the thought quickly faded, drowned out by the sticky feeling and drowsiness. Gabriel carried her to the bathroom for a bath.

The next morning, Jessica was so weak that Gabriel had to help her squeeze toothpaste and brush her teeth. Standing in front of the mirror, she mumbled, "Gabriel, you're getting more and more out of control. If this keeps up, I'm not going back to South Hill Villa with you. I'll stay at Star Tower."

With her mouth full of toothpaste and toothbrush, her words were muffled. Gabriel, holding a towel, helped dry her hair and looked at her with a slight frown. "What did you say?"

After rinsing her mouth, she grabbed another towel to dry off. Thinking he hadn't heard her, she turned to speak, but Gabriel suddenly grabbed the back of her head and kissed her hard. She made muffled sounds, worried about slipping on the wet bathroom floor, so she didn't struggle too much. Eventually, Gabriel pinned her against the wall, biting her lip and whispering, "Dare not to come home? Try it."

So he had heard her but pretended not to.

She bit him hard, but it only made him laugh deeply and kiss her even more intensely.

With several Harriman family relatives staying over, they didn't linger in the bedroom for long. They headed to the mansion's front hall for breakfast on time.

Jessica got there early and was already sipping tea with Seraphina when Benjamin and the others, along with other relatives, walked into the front hall.

"Dad, Mom, good morning." Jessica took the tea from Sarah, poured two cups, and handed them to her parents. "It's chilly this morning. Have some tea to warm up before breakfast."

Brooklyn noticed the bracelet still on Jessica's wrist but didn't say anything. Benjamin just nodded, taking the tea but not drinking it.

Kimberly sat beside them, silent. Despite her light makeup, her eyes were still puffy and red. She kept her head down, trying not to draw attention.

The Harriman family wasn't overly formal. Jessica's manners were just enough to avoid criticism. She didn't need to do much more and was soon led back to her seat by Gabriel.

"Oh, darling, you're up so early?" Seraphina suddenly smiled at the main hall door, seeing Danielle being led in by a servant. Danielle looked energetic and happy, running straight into Seraphina's arms.

"Good morning, great-grandmother." Danielle nestled in Seraphina's lap and greeted Michael with a smile. "Good morning, Great-Grandpa."

Seeing Danielle, Benjamin and Brooklyn, who had been stern with Jessica to avoid hurting Kimberly's feelings, couldn't hide their affection.

Brooklyn smiled at Danielle. "Danielle, come sit with Grandma?"

Brooklyn made space beside her and signaled the servant to move Danielle's chair over.

Danielle didn't refuse. After a while with Seraphina, she moved to sit next to Brooklyn. Before Brooklyn could serve her food, Danielle picked up a sandwich and offered it to Brooklyn. "Grandma, here you are."

The guests couldn't help but praise, "No wonder Michael has been so happy these days, as if more energetic. Danielle is so well-behaved and sensible. With such a great-granddaughter, how could he not be happy?"

Michael was pleased to hear this, but when he saw Seraphina's warning look, he composed himself, coughed, and sipped his tea to stay calm.

Brooklyn, unable to hide her joy, hugged Danielle and coaxed her to eat. Benjamin, beside them, occasionally teased Danielle, his previously stern face now relaxed.

Danielle was so adorable and sensible that even those not familiar with her couldn't help but love her. How could her family not adore her?

Meanwhile, Kimberly was gradually ignored. Brooklyn and Benjamin were busy with Danielle, leaving Kimberly out.
