Amy was too stunned to feel sad at first. She stared blankly at Kevin's retreating figure, then turned her gaze to Jessica, and finally to Gabriel.

Gabriel's gaze was like that of a family elder looking at a naive child.

Gabriel didn't say much, but Amy understood his meaning.
The atmosphere suddenly became awkward and cold. Kevin had been trying to avoid Amy's relentless pursuit, but they inevitably met due to some shows and activities. Amy was straightforward and naive, and Kevin had rejected her before. He had always maintained a clear attitude of rejection but had never been too cold to her, considering her feelings.
But caring for someone is one thing; accepting their feelings is another.
This time, they were recording a show purely because of the company's and the show's arrangement, aiming to boost the topic by pairing them together. Since it was work, Kevin tried to cooperate with the show. However, he still maintained his initial attitude towards Amy, trying not to hurt her while coexisting peacefully. Once the recording was over, there would be no unnecessary contact.
But Amy clearly didn't see it that way. She thought that since Kevin agreed to record the show and be her teammate, and hadn't publicly rejected her in front of the media, he didn't dislike her. Amy held onto this hopeful and ambiguous mindset, hoping that over time, Kevin would develop feelings for her.
Gabriel, though not often in contact with them, saw through it immediately. Others were colleagues, collaborators, and industry artists who wouldn't consider these things or remind her. They didn't have the right to do so. But as Amy's cousin, Gabriel's position was different, and he had to consider different aspects. At least, it wasn't a bad thing for Amy to wake up sooner.
Seeing Amy sitting there, looking lost and sad, Jessica knew Gabriel was looking out for her. For someone impulsive like Amy, this seemingly calm warning would hurt the most and be absorbed instantly, like a painful grindstone.
But Gabriel's choice to warn Amy directly today was also a good thing. After all, tomorrow was the official first episode recording. If Amy had the wrong mindset from the start, she would be devastated after the show, like a severe illness.

Amy nodded gloomily and lowered her head to eat, but it was clear she had lost her appetite, her thoughts entirely focused on the person in the kitchen.
