Chapter 329 Danielle is with Us

In the darkness, Gabriel softly pinched her cool cheek, neither confirming nor denying anything.

Jessica had already figured out that Mackenzie's sudden investment had to be Gabriel's doing.A hundred million dollars? Mackenzie couldn't scrape that together even if she sold everything she owned.

"Why didn't you just invest directly?" Jessica asked. "Were you trying to protect my pride? Look, I can handle it. I know it was you, even with Mackenzie as the middleman."

Gabriel kissed her forehead. "Your studio needs a partner. Mackenzie might not be the best agent, but she has her strengths. You trust her, and that's what matters."

Plus, Mackenzie knew a lot about Jessica, including her history with Danielle.

Jessica nodded, nestled in his arms. "So, if I take this investment through Mackenzie, even if I start my own studio, you'll still be my boss?"

Gabriel's kisses trailed down to her nose and then her lips. Their eyes locked, his face a mix of elegance and desire in the dark.

"The Harriman Group has a strict no-relationships policy between superiors and subordinates. Since the investment is through Mackenzie, I'm her boss, not yours," Gabriel said with a smile, kissing her again. His fingers traced her chin as he whispered, "Big difference."

Before she could respond, Gabriel's arm tightened around her waist, lifting her from the driver's seat and onto his lap.

Jessica panicked, pressing her hands against his chest. "I'm suddenly starving. Didn't your secretary mention a new restaurant across the street? Let's go there."

They did head to the restaurant, but only after Gabriel had kissed her to his heart's content.

Luckily, Jessica wore a mask when they entered, hiding the redness on her lips.

While they ate, Jessica asked, "When's your mom heading back to Y Country?"

"The day after tomorrow."

Jessica fell silent, debating whether to tell him about the connection between Trinity and Kimberly.

But she had no solid proof.

Kimberly was Gabriel's sister, even if only in name, and part of the Harriman family. She couldn't make baseless accusations without evidence, even though Gabriel wouldn't think she was being unreasonable.

The small Instagram account linked to Trinity wasn't enough.

Kimberly didn't seem like a simple person, but Jessica couldn't definitively link her to Trinity.

She felt torn, wanting to say something but also feeling she shouldn't.

Gabriel noticed her distracted look.

He placed a piece of steak in front of her, snapping her back to reality. She looked up, meeting Gabriel's knowing eyes, and quickly focused on her meal.

After a few bites, Jessica suddenly asked, "Your sister..."

Gabriel shot Jessica a cold look, so she rephrased. "Is Kimberly still not planning to live on campus?"

Gabriel's silence made it clear he hadn't bothered to find out and didn't want to discuss it. Jessica pressed on, "When we last visited the Harriman family, Grandpa Harriman seemed pretty distant from Kimberly. Do you think they'll ever get along?"

Although Kimberly held the title of Michael's granddaughter, she was not his biological kin.

No matter how sweet and charming Kimberly was, Michael kept his distance. To him, blood relations were everything.

Michael had been eagerly awaiting a great-grandchild but instead got Danielle, who wasn't related by blood.

What would Michael think?

Jessica lowered her head, lost in thought as she ate.

Even though she didn't say more, Gabriel put down his utensils.

"We'll go back to the Harriman family next month, and Danielle will come with us."

Gabriel's words were clear and hit Jessica hard.

She almost choked on her steak, looking at him in shock.

Wouldn't Michael be furious?

A week later, the crew went to Country W for filming. Jessica hadn't been to Country W since returning home a few years ago, so she was excited to see the snow.

But she didn't expect a call from Eugene on the second day there.

That night, the Jenner family in Country W picked her up and took her to a reputable blood testing hospital for several blood samples.

The next day, she got the DNA report. She learned that after Eugene was trapped by the Jenner family in Country W, his inheritance rights had been completely revoked by the old man of the Jenner family, and he wasn't allowed to return to Xyleria.

Just a few days ago, after Trinity visited Gabriel, the news that Trinity wasn't biologically related to the Jenner family somehow spread to Country W.

Upon discovering Jessica's presence in Country W, the elder Jenner insisted on a blood test to confirm their relationship. Likewise, Trinity in Xyleria underwent the same procedure.

Trinity was always confident about her lineage, as Linda had never told her daughter about her past indiscretions.

So when Jessica received the test report and was released back to the crew as if nothing had happened, Trinity in Xyleria tore up the DNA report on the spot, repeatedly calling Eugene in Country W to cry that it was impossible. The Jenner family cut off the call, not giving Trinity any chance to contact Eugene.

The filming in Country W lasted five days. On the last day, as Jessica was about to return to her car, she saw a Lincoln parked next to her trailer.

The car door opened, and a young man in a suit approached her respectfully. "Miss Jenner, the chairman wants to see you. He's in the car."

Jessica looked at the low-key, luxurious Lincoln and was silent for a moment.

She was indeed a Jenner.

But she had never been acknowledged by the Jenner family, and her name had long been removed from their records.

She had never met her biological grandfather.

That was Donald Jenner in the car.
