Chapter 544 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 29

The four of them had been busy in the kitchen for over an hour, and finally, dinner was ready to be served.

The female guests eagerly went to the kitchen to help bring out the dishes and set the table.

While Amy and the others went back to their rooms to change out of their smoke-scented clothes, Jessica noticed a juicer in the kitchen. Harmony City was known for its abundance of tropical fruits, and there were still plenty left on the coffee table that probably wouldn't be eaten later. The fridge was too full to store them, and they wouldn't be fresh by tomorrow. So, she decided to peel and juice them, adding a bit of honey for flavor. She also got some ice cubes, placed them in a bowl, and set it on the table for everyone to add to their drinks as they liked.

When Amy came downstairs after changing, she brought out some special treats her friend had brought from Shadow City: prairie beef jerky and yogurt cubes. Seeing this, everyone else went to their rooms to fetch their goodies. The table was already laden with a variety of dishes, and soon it was filled with small gifts and snacks, making the meal even more enjoyable as everyone introduced themselves and shared stories.

Jessica and Gabriel sat at one end of the table. Initially, Clayton and the others wanted Gabriel to sit in the middle, but he politely declined, giving the central seats to the elderly couple, Maurice and Debra. He and Jessica took seats at the end, facing away from the cameras.

Rachel, Lester, Brent, and Melissa instinctively chose seats facing the cameras, knowing that being on a show meant needing exposure and creating buzz. Amy and Kevin sat across from Jessica and Gabriel, also at the end of the table but facing the cameras. Everyone's seating choices worked out well, and the dinner was harmonious.

Although everyone had introduced themselves earlier in the afternoon, the atmosphere had been awkward and unfamiliar. Now, after eating and drinking together, they felt much more comfortable. Initially, they thought Gabriel might be hard to approach and were hesitant to talk to him. However, they soon realized that Gabriel was not only attentive to his wife, Jessica, but also listened patiently to everyone's conversations, showing no signs of disdain or reluctance.

Taking advantage of the beer he had just drunk, Lester laughed and asked, "Mr. Harriman, you're usually so low-key, but you made an exception to join Ms. Jenner on this outdoor reality show, and not just for one episode. I'm curious, did you do it to support Ms. Jenner's work, or..."

Lester half-jokingly glanced at Kevin, a mischievous smile on his face. "Or are you worried about Ms. Jenner interacting too much with her former teammate on the same show?"

Kevin had just taken a sip of the juice Amy had made especially for him, different from the juice Jessica had made for everyone else. He choked a bit, caught off guard by Lester's question.

Though Lester's question was somewhat inappropriate and even abrupt, everyone at the table was curious about the same thing but had been too polite to ask.

After all, the director had intentionally chosen these guests to create interesting dynamics for the audience. If the fans were curious, it was only natural that the people sitting together at the table were even more intrigued.
