Chapter 692 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 177
Kevin paused and looked at her, "You think it's me?"
Amy quickly waved her hands, "No, not at all. But right now, everyone except me is a suspect. We gotta pay attention to every clue since we're solving a case."
Kevin chuckled and ruffled her hair, "Stop overthinking. Go back to your room and grab something to eat. Your stomach's been growling all day. You might not notice, but it's driving me nuts."
"Got it."
After the cameraman followed all the guests into their rooms to film the evidence collection, none of the guests had gone to check out each other's rooms yet. Suddenly, everyone's phones chimed with a group message notification.
Marshall had sent a message in the group chat, telling everyone to come downstairs immediately.
Jessica stepped out of her room and saw the other guests already waiting in the hallway. It seemed like the evidence collection in each room had varied, but since the show hadn't aired yet and they hadn't checked out other rooms, they were unaware of the process. However, everyone had a contemplative look on their faces.
Jessica herself felt a bit uncertain.
She didn't remember tidying up the bed and bathroom before she and Gabriel left the room, and it was too early for hotel housekeeping to have come by.
But when she went back in, she found everything neatly arranged on the room's sofa and table, and the bathroom was spotless as if no one had used it that morning. The bed was perfectly made.
Initially, Jessica thought the show crew had arranged this for smooth filming of the evidence collection. She asked Gabriel if the director had informed him about this beforehand, considering it involved personal privacy. The crew wouldn't be so careless.
Gabriel said the director hadn't mentioned anything to him.
That made it even stranger.
While the show needed to create effects and arrangements, sending someone to clean the room without the owner's knowledge and leaving no trace seemed to overstep normal contractual boundaries.
They hadn't found anything in the room except their travel suitcases and backpacks.
Seeing everyone's peculiar expressions now, Jessica realized the director was serious about this episode. Everyone had already started to assume their roles due to various doubts.
Maybe the killer had already stepped into their role early on.
Even in the elevator ride downstairs, the atmosphere had changed. There was no more casual chatting or laughing. Everyone exchanged glances but didn't speak, as if each person suspected the others of being the "murderer."
Back on the first floor, Marshall stood next to the bar with a projector. As he turned it on, he asked, "Did anyone find anything in their rooms?"
Debra hesitated for a moment, "Not much, but I don't remember when a cutting board and a ceramic kitchen knife ended up in my suitcase. Those aren't ours."
Maurice chimed in, "Remember when we were treasure hunting on Mantanani Island? We found some kitchenware together. You mentioned you were worried about future episodes where cooking might be difficult. I cleaned the cutting board and packed it in your suitcase."
