Chapter 352 The Cufflinks on Gabriel's Suit Sleeve

Sebastian started chatting with Gabriel, who just nodded without saying much. Gabriel had already ignored Jessica and Kevin's earlier greeting.

In the entertainment industry, some investors were friendly, and some were standoffish. Sebastian had seen both types and didn't mind. Jessica and Kevin's greeting was polite, but Gabriel might not respond to it.

To ease any tension for the young actors, Sebastian smoothly changed the subject and signaled Jessica and Kevin to leave.

After they left, Sebastian smiled and said, "Mr. Harriman doesn't come around often. Those two leads are hardworking and talented. Jessica and I get along well. They were probably nervous meeting you for the first time. Maybe next time you're in town, we could all have a meal together."

Jessica and Kevin were heading back to their seats when Jessica saw Landon walk in. He looked the same after more than a year. He glanced at Jessica but didn't acknowledge her and went straight to Gabriel's table, unlike Wayne, who at least showed some surprise.

Landon and Gabriel seemed similar, especially since Landon had been with Gabriel for years. He knew who was in their circle and who wasn't.

Jessica didn't show much of a reaction. Kevin asked, "Are you okay?"

Taking out her phone, Jessica glanced at him. "What do you mean? Do I look different?"

Kevin said, "You just seem too calm, so I asked."

Jessica had chosen her path and was okay with it. She had mixed feelings but was generally fine.

She glanced back at Gabriel's table, then posted a picture of the table's flower arrangement on Instagram with the caption: [New movie starting, hope everything goes well. Let's all do our best.]

She smiled at Kevin, who had been watching her. "I'm fine."

From a distance, the media captured a photo of them smiling at each other, which could easily spark romantic rumors.

During the event, the director, producer, and screenwriter talked about the movie "Shadow Kill." Jessica and Kevin, as the lead actors, were invited on stage.

A reporter asked Jessica, "You've made great progress in TV over the past two years. With two dramas airing this year, you’re a strong contender for Best Actress in TV. Are you planning to return to feature films and claim the Best Actress title that Trinity owed you?"

Jessica took the mic, paused for a moment, and said, "Everyone in this industry works hard for years to create better projects. Of course, we hope our efforts are acknowledged. Saying we don't want awards would be a lie. But a film's success isn't just about the actors.

It's about the whole team. As for winning an award, that's just one part of it. I'm really excited about 'Shadow Kill' because Sebastian, Kevin, and I are old friends, and we genuinely enjoy working together. The filming will definitely go smoothly."

Sebastian nodded approvingly, pleased with Jessica's response.

Jessica had always been bold and straightforward with the media. After she publicly acknowledged her daughter on Instagram, the media had asked her tough questions, such as whether she hid her daughter's existence to deceive fans and gain more fame.

Jessica replied, "Isn't it natural to provide for your child's needs? Whether they're still on formula or not, it's about providing the best life for your child. I'm an actress; my work faces the camera, not my private life. Keeping it was just to give my child a peaceful environment. There's no need for too much speculation. Everyone earns their living with their skills."

She wasn't afraid to push back against the media and speak the truth. Over time, the media changed their tactics, but Jessica still held her ground, often leaving them speechless.

In the entertainment industry, many stars had crafted personas, often guided by their companies. Jessica, however, was genuine and unpretentious, earning her many loyal fans.

A reporter then asked Sebastian what made him choose Jessica as the lead actress for this film.

Sebastian took the mic and said, "I admire Jessica. She's genuine and talented. This industry is vast and often misunderstood by the outside world. But Jessica is different. She respects her work and this industry. Two years ago, I saw her practicing fight scenes alone in a dark corner with a small wooden sword, showing true professionalism. Details reveal character, and over the past two years, I've seen her talent. She is the lead actress I want for 'Shadow Kill', and no one else will do."

The media in the front rows continued to ask questions.

Sitting in the VIP section, Gabriel, unusually, didn't leave early from this event. But Landon whispered something to him, and Gabriel stood up, took the suit jacket Landon handed him, and casually adjusted the collar and cuffs.

A nearby investor noticed the pair of dark silver cufflinks on Gabriel's suit sleeves. It was said that Gabriel had been using the same pair of cufflinks for the past two years, no matter the occasion. The cufflinks, due to frequent use, no longer looked new and didn't match Gabriel's status, yet he always wore them. Seeing it today, it turned out to be true.
