Gabriel didn't hold back. "You might wanna get your head checked too. It's not looking good."
Amy was speechless.
She turned to Jessica with a bewildered expression.
Jessica couldn't help but laugh. "Honestly, this is the first time I've seen Gabriel talk to family like this. It means he doesn't see you as an outsider."
Amy's mouth twitched. "I can't tell if you're comforting me or mocking me."
With that, Amy huffed and turned away, heading back to the other side. But she was too fed up with Rachel's drama, so she decided to avoid the crowd and picked up a volleyball from the beach, bouncing it back and forth in her hands.
Kevin glanced at her and walked over. "You tired?"
Amy looked up. "No, just can't stand it. Out of sight, out of mind."
"It'll be sorted out soon. The show still needs to be recorded."
"Are Rachel and Lester still filming?"
Kevin looked over at them thoughtfully, "The producer called Lester away. Judging by the producer's expression, it seems serious. They're planning to handle it strictly. The final decision isn't out yet, so let's wait and see."
Amy suddenly whispered in surprise, "Do you think the director might kick them out and replace them with new guests?"
Kevin rarely commented on such matters, and he wasn't one to speak in absolutes. But seeing Amy's straightforward nature, he chuckled, "If I were the producer, I'd replace them."
"That's what I thought. Rachel and Lester are too problematic. It's only the second episode, and if they don't leave, I might end up arguing with them on camera someday." Amy rolled her eyes in their direction.
"Control your temper. Not everything needs to be expressed immediately. Especially in this industry, things are complicated. Don't make enemies blindly." Kevin said patiently. "If you're upset, vent to me or find a proper way to do it. Arguing doesn't solve anything. Even if they leave, you'll still run into them in the industry. You don't want it to be awkward."
Amy looked at him, puzzled, "Mr. Martinez, why are you giving me a lecture again?"
Kevin smiled and didn't say much, pulling her by the wrist. "Come on, let's rest under the umbrella. Don't stand here getting sunburned."
Amy hesitated, looking at his hand holding hers. She thought she should be more reserved and tried to pull away. But Kevin's grip, though not painful, was firm enough that she couldn't shake it off. When she tried to pull away, he tightened his hold slightly, not giving her a chance to withdraw.
Amy was speechless.
Lately, he seemed less resistant to physical contact. Was this a miracle?
That evening, after the recording ended, Marshall and the producer indeed announced some news to everyone.
Due to Rachel's health issues and some internal problems with Lester's agency, there were disagreements with the show. Both artists had left the island and wouldn't be participating in the remaining ten episodes.
Jessica was surprised. That was quick.
Even though Rachel's actions today were clearly meant to stir things up, the resolution was swift. They didn't even get to see them again before they left.
She looked at Gabriel, who remained calm and composed, and suddenly understood.
