Chapter 210 Who Would Have Thought the High and Mighty Mr. Harriman...
Jessica was still completely unaware of what had happenedoutside.
When she returned to her room, the guest room manager had already fixed the water heater. He tested the hot water several times to ensure it was working properly, confirming that there would no longer be any issues with cold water or unstable temperatures. Jessica also tried the water herself and indeed, it felt much better.
The guest room butler apologized sincerely, saying it was just an exceptional case and that their hotel was usually very reliable.
Jessica didn't dwell on it further. After the hotel staff cleaned up the bathroom, they quickly left.
With her hair still wet, Jessica absentmindedly ruffled it with her hands. She didn't want to blow-dry it, but she really wanted to lie down and rest, so she headed into the bathroom, picked up the hairdryer, and started drying her hair.
After coming out, she received a call from the production team. They said the scriptwriter had sent over two pages and that she needed to pay attention to the notes on the pages when filming in a couple of days. Jessica, busy with everything, forgot about eating.
By the time she changed clothes and remembered the instant pasta, more than half an hour had already passed.
Jessica, with a seasoning packet in her mouth, was holding the instant pasta cup in one hand and a kettle of freshly boiled water in the other, pouring the water.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. She quickly poured the seasoning into the pasta, covered them, and turned to open the door.
There stood Wayne, looking much like a delivery man, his arms laden with various bags and takeout boxes. As the door opened, he smiled warmly at Jessica and said, "Ms. Jenner, you must be starving! This is takeout from a famous restaurant in Sunshine Bay City. I just went to get it, and it's all freshly made. It's delicious, you should try it!"
Jessica was stunned for a moment and hadn't yet spoken when the door across the hall opened. Gabriel came out, glanced at Wayne and Jessica, and signaled Wayne with his eyes to bring the food inside.
Wayne, understanding the cue, smiled politely at Jessica and then walked past her into the room, placing all the delicious food on her table. He also set out the utensils he had brought and said, "I also brought two cups of coffee for Ms. Jenner. I wasn't sure which kind you'd like, so I got two different flavors. You can choose whichever you prefer."
After speaking, Wayne turned to Gabriel, who had already entered the room, and said, "Mr. Harriman, I'll head back now. Let me know if you need anything."
With that, he quickly left the room, closing the door gently behind him.
Jessica watched Wayne's atoning service attitude in silence. Once he left, she turned to look at Gabriel, who was walking towards her.
"He bought so much? How can we even finish it?"
Gabriel had already approached and looked down at her. "Weren't you hungry?"
"It’s still too much, though."
"Just eat and cut the chatter" Gabriel grabbed her hand and dragged her to the table, seating her down. He noticed the cup of instant pasta she had prepared in the corner of the table. "Eat less instant pasta."
"I already made it, and it's my favorite —tomato beef flavor."
"Isn't there tomato beef soup from Wayne?"
"It's not the same. Instant pasta have their unique taste."
"Your brain can't handle too many instant pasta; you'll turn into an idiot."
"Why?"
Just as Jessica was about to speak, a piece of beef was suddenly stuffed into her mouth. She glared at him, but Gabriel, after feeding her a bite, sat down beside her and used the same fork to take a bite.
She looked at him in surprise. "You came back so late. Didn't you have dinner with the Xyleria leaders?"
"I did, but not much."
Jessica was speechless.
She glanced at the man sitting beside her, who had shed any semblance of arrogance and was down-to-earth enough to share takeout with her.
At this moment, she couldn't help but think back to the scene at the resort today, where the important leaders of Xyleria were all smiles and flattery towards him. Gabriel, amidst the crowd, was indeed exceptionally aloof and unapproachable, exuding an intimidating presence that instinctively made people wary of provoking him.
Who would have thought that the high and mighty Gabriel would now be sitting in her room, eating takeout with her?
Even though he had once stayed at her house for over a month to recover from an injury, during which they had shared many simple, everyday moments, and even though he had shown a fondness for the porridge she made, she still couldn't fully shake off the image of him as a powerful and imposing figure.
Gabriel, even when sitting at this small table in her room and eating takeout with her, maintained an air of composure. His clean, sharp demeanor and noble aura were intrinsic and never influenced by external environments.
After eating a few bites, Jessica tentatively reached for the abandoned cup of instant pasta on the table.
Just as she was about to lift the lid and take some pasta, Gabriel unceremoniously slapped her hand away.
Jessica retracted her fork, pouting as she continued eating other things. "I already made it. Eating a couple of bites won't hurt."
Gabriel rummaged through one of the takeout bags and pulled out a box of spaghetti, poured some soup into it, and pushed it towards her.
Jessica looked down. It was a proper bowl of soup noodles, and the aroma was mouthwatering, but she was still annoyed at his overbearing attitude, not even letting her have a bite of instant pasta.
She refused. "I don't want to eat it."
Gabriel raised an eyebrow, took it back, mixed it with a fork, and tasted it. "Tasty. I'll eat it then."
Jessica stared at the fork in his hand and the bowl of noodles in front of him. The dishes Wayne had bought were indeed delicious, but she had wanted some main staple food to go with them.
She hadn't noticed there was spaghetti earlier.
As she watched Gabriel take a few bites unceremoniously, her eyes turned pitiful, fixed on him with a longing gaze.
Gabriel acted as if he didn’t notice her expression, continuing to eat her spaghetti with a calm expression, and with his other hand, he casually threw her cup of instant pasta into the trash.
Jessica suddenly reached out to grab the food container in front of him. "Save some for me!"
"Save what?"
Jessica decisively snatched the container, not caring if he had already eaten from it, and stuffed her mouth with big bites, mumbling, "A CEO fighting a small actress for spaghetti . I'll expose you to the media tomorrow!"
"Weren't you not eating?"
"I changed my mind!" She said righteously.
At that moment, the doorbell rang again. Gabriel glanced at Jessica, who was busy stuffing her mouth, and got up to open the door.
But then Kevin's voice came from outside. "Jessica, I sent you a Whatsapp message, but you didn't reply. Are you feeling better from your cold?"
Hearing this, Jessica instinctively wanted to find her phone, but then she realized Gabriel was about to open the door. She quickly swallowed her food, stood up, and ran over to push Gabriel against the wall beside the door.
Gabriel looked at Jessica, who had suddenly pinned him against the wall, with a hint of amusement in his dark eyes, but he didn't struggle.
Kevin rang the doorbell a couple more times.
Jessica raised her head, put her hand to her mouth, and continued to press her body tightly against his , forbidding him to move., At the same time, she gestured silently towards the silent Gabriel.
