Chapter 637 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 122

Jessica understood his reminder and raised her hand in a playful salute, glancing at the crew members outside the villa who were busy moving props.

"You guys playing basketball this afternoon will be quite a sight, but we'll be playing volleyball on the other side. I probably won't get to see you play," Jessica said with a hint of regret.

Gabriel looked at her, gently brushing a strand of hair from her forehead, his gaze meeting her eyes filled with anticipation and disappointment. "You wanna watch?"

Jessica's eyes lit up instantly. "Of course."

He raised an eyebrow slightly. "You've never seen me play. How do you know I'm any good?"

Jessica raised her eyebrows in response. "Danielle's been athletic since she was a kid, but I'm not that talented. So, who do you think she inherited it from?"

She then subtly tugged at the hem of his T-shirt, leaning closer and lowering her voice. "Once, when you were still at the office, during dinner, Grandpa and Nicholas were talking about your childhood. They said that even though you didn't have much time to run around with the other boys, you always participated in the school basketball games. Apparently, you were always surrounded by girls bringing you water and towels. If you weren't good at basketball, how could you have been in those games?"

Gabriel looked into Jessica's eyes, a slight smile playing on his lips, clearly seeing the anticipation and curiosity in her eyes.

Jessica had seen many sides of him, but she had never seen this side.

The youthful energy of his teenage years, before the weight of family responsibilities had settled on his shoulders.

Spending his days in skyscrapers, shuttling between meeting rooms and high-level international conferences, his role as CEO was both a responsibility and a shackle, a persona that seemed fixed and unlike the personas in the entertainment industry, one that had to be deeply ingrained.

"I'll make it happen," Gabriel said, brushing her hair again. "When we play, take it easy and come over to bring me water and towels."

"Deal!"

That afternoon, two courts were set up on the beach.

The volleyball court for the female guests was easy to arrange, and the basketball court, with the hoops all in place, had been prepared by the staff for over an hour.

Lester, dressed in sportswear and sneakers, was stretching on the beach. Hearing the director announce that everyone was present, he turned to see that Brent's team had also arrived. He smiled, continuing to stretch his wrists. "Looks like we're all set."

He glanced at Maurice, who was also in sportswear. "Maurice, when we start playing, I might not be very careful. You should keep your distance to avoid getting hurt."

Maurice chuckled at the young man's enthusiasm but didn't say much.

Lester then looked at Gabriel, but without saying anything, he gave a polite yet somewhat reluctant nod before turning his gaze to Brent. "Good luck."

Brent scoffed. "Don't get too cocky. Clayton and Kevin didn't even bother to join you. Your team doesn't have any spirit. Are you aware of that?"

"As long as we beat you, who needs team spirit?" Lester said, bouncing the ball a few times to get a feel for playing on the sand. It wasn't as comfortable as usual, but it would do.
