Chapter 598 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 83

Gabriel caught the playful sparkle in Jessica's eyes and let out a chuckle, "I haven't even done anything, and you're already jealous. How's that fair?"

Jessica pretended to pout, "Well, you do have a knack for drawing attention."

Gabriel's face stayed calm and cool, his voice so low only Jessica could hear, "You know better than anyone how important this is. And you know whether it's fair or not."

Jessica was left speechless.

When Gabriel got serious, he had this way of making people feel like they should keep their distance. But when he was joking around with her, it was as casual as chatting about dinner plans.

Jessica glanced at him sideways. Gabriel stayed unfazed, but her look made him smile slightly, his refined eyebrows lifting just a bit.

"Oh, I just remembered there are a few things I forgot to buy," Jessica said, rummaging through her small wallet and pulling out a twenty-dollar bill before dashing into the supermarket.

About ten minutes later, she emerged from the store. The other guests had already used the restroom or touched up their makeup, and most had returned to the bus.

Jessica came back with a small white grocery bag. Everyone craned their necks to see what she had bought. The bag was so small that even Marshall didn't notice it when she casually stuffed it into her small travel bag behind her seat.

The supermarket had been crowded, and Jessica had worn a mask to avoid being recognized. The camera crew didn't follow her inside to avoid causing a scene, so what she bought remained a mystery.

The livestream chat was buzzing with curiosity about what Jessica had bought in those ten minutes, especially since she had avoided Marshall.

As the bus got back on the road, everyone started to feel the afternoon slump. The silly games were put on hold, and even Marshall couldn't resist dozing off in his seat, accidentally showing his face on camera a couple of times, which the fans found amusing.

By around six in the evening, the bus was still cruising towards Majestic City. They decided to stop at a rest area on the highway for another twenty-minute break.

It was dinnertime, and the driver and the crew needed to eat and take a break.

As Cindy got off the bus, she said, "Let's see what the supermarket here has to eat. We'll probably be stuck with fish and seafood on the island, and maybe some noodles we secretly packed. I really want some rice to fill me up."

"Maybe they'll have some instant rice," Melissa suggested as she followed Cindy off the bus.

Cindy hesitated, "That stuff is pretty expensive. It's usually ten or twenty bucks at a regular supermarket. Here at a highway rest stop, the price will probably be double. And it's just a single serving. I don't even have thirty bucks on me right now."

Talking about money made Melissa fall silent.

For celebrities like them, worrying about a few dollars here and there was a rare thing. But now, being so strapped for cash was a bit disheartening. Still, they had to keep up appearances for the cameras.

Cindy turned to Jessica, who had also gotten off the bus, "What are you and Mr. Harriman planning to eat? Once we get to the island, it might be hard to find a decent meal."
