Chapter 672 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 157

Jessica watched in disbelief as the usually composed Gabriel handed her a large bag filled with cheap snacks, the kind you could get for a few bucks at the store.

She could only imagine the looks Gabriel must have received from the store clerks when he awkwardly asked them about these snacks while trying to avoid the cameras.

Holding back her laughter, she shook the bag in her hand. "I never had this many snacks when I was a kid."

Gabriel, who seemed to think that too many snacks could be unhealthy, looked uncharacteristically uncertain. "Maybe you shouldn't eat them right away. Let's ask the on-set doctor first."

Seeing that he was about to take the snacks back, Jessica quickly hid the bag behind her. "No way, a little bit won't hurt. Besides, they're just some sour plums and stuff. We can share them with everyone once we get in the car."

Gabriel, who usually didn't care much about his image, didn't seem to realize how surreal it would be for everyone to see him handing out snacks. He didn't object, though, and gently touched her cheek. "If you can't handle it, don't push yourself. You can repay Marshall in other ways."

"I know you're just trying to keep me from stressing out, and that's why you've been so supportive. Otherwise, you would have dealt with Marshall differently by now. But I want to stick to my principles and finish what I promised. We've only been out here for a few days, and we should be done in about a month. I can rest when we get back. Besides, Melissa just threw up because of motion sickness. I'm actually doing better than her. Everyone will just think I'm carsick, too. It's really no big deal."

Jessica's determination and the fact that she seemed to be handling it well had made Gabriel more lenient. But he wasn't sure how much longer he could keep compromising.

After all, she wasn't alone anymore.

There was another life to consider.

Gabriel didn't seem convinced this time, likely because he knew she had been holding back her nausea earlier.

Jessica took a sour plum from the bag and popped it into her mouth, squinting from the sourness and wrinkling her nose. "So sour, but so good. You should try one."

Before Gabriel could react, she quickly shoved a sour plum into his mouth.

Though he didn't squint like she did, his furrowed brow showed that he found it just as sour.

Suddenly, Jessica remembered the time she tried to get him to eat a piece of pineapple. How had he managed to keep a straight face and walk out of her house back then?

Seeing the mischievous glint in Jessica's eyes, Gabriel knew she was up to no good. He swallowed the sour plum and, as if nothing had happened, took another small bag of sour plums from the larger bag. He examined the ingredients list, his expression growing more serious.

"What's wrong?" Jessica asked, curious about the tiny print.

"Vitamins A, B, C, D?" Gabriel's tone turned cold, clearly displeased with the false advertising from the small snack company, a reaction befitting someone in his position.

Jessica was speechless.

Come on, big shot, just let these cheap snacks be.
