Chapter 201 Unbuttoning the First Button of the Black Coat
Chapter 201 Unbuttoning the First Button
'Come to the rescue?' Jessica thought.
Jessica was completely bewildered.
That day, she had just posted something on her social media jokingly on a whim.
"Aren't you surprised that not only did nothing happen to me, but I also just kicked out a shameless suitor?"
Gabriel replied, "I'm very surprised."
Jessica re-evaluated Gabriel, who said he was surprised to see a blank expression. "I really can't tell."
She mimicked his expressionless face and tone, "I'm very surprised."
Gabriel chuckled silently and pointed towards the door. "What happened just now?"
"Nothing, just a lunatic sent by someone to ruin my reputation. I've already kicked him out."
"Don't open the door for just anyone in the future," Gabriel reminded her of the precautions a woman living alone should take. "Especially this late at night."
"So, letting you in now, am I inviting a wolf into my house?"
Gabriel raised an eyebrow, his gaze falling on her freshly washed face. He suddenly took two steps closer until he was less than half a foot away from her and unbuttoned the first button of his black coat.
"What kind of wolf am I?"
Jessica was speechless.
Gabriel looked down at her from above.
Gabriel was really tall, and she was only wearing hotel slippers, so she had to tilt her head up to look at him. She quickly took a few inches back.
She coughed. "You are... that..."
Gabriel looked down at her unswervingly.
"You are a wolf..." Jessica suddenly turned her head and sang boldly, "A wolf from the North, walking in the boundless wilderness..."
She glanced at him and saw that Gabriel was clearly enjoying her awkward performance but didn't show any disdain.
Jessica cleared her throat and continued singing.
She grinned at Gabriel, took a big step back, and made a bowing gesture to end her performance.
After she finished, Jessica clapped her hands for herself. "Haha, a very nostalgic song. I don't know if you have heard it before. Sorry for the poor performance!"
Gabriel's cold smile had a hint of looking at an idiot. He glanced at her and then at the towel wrapped around her head. "Dry your hair and get some rest. If you keep howling, not just wolves from the North, but wolves from abroad will come."
With that, Gabriel took off his coat and draped it over his arm, seemingly speechless from her performance. Without looking at her, he turned and walked out.
Jessica looked him up and down for a moment, not understanding why he took off his coat. Jessica was very puzzled, thinking, 'Isn't he leaving?'
Then, she saw Gabriel open the door to the room opposite hers.
Great, she finally found the culprit who made her wash her hair with intermittent cold water for two days and couldn't change rooms.
Donna had been behaving herself a lot more these past two days. Maybe the director couldn't stand her acting anymore and urged her acting coach to put in more effort. Although she still had many bloopers during filming, it was much better than at the beginning.
Moreover, many people on Facebook, both fans and casual viewers, were keeping an eye on their crew's updates. Now, no one dared to be too rude to Jessica.
Especially since Jessica's assistant and manager often casually raised their cameras and phones to capture behind-the-scenes moments, no one dared to show any disrespect towards Jessica.
But this was actually a good thing for the overall atmosphere of the crew. At least from the director to the various production teams and staff, everyone had a reason to work seriously without having to consider any hints from the Nelson Group.
Donna also learned this trick by having her assistant frequently take pictures with a camera. However, no matter how they tried, they couldn't capture any mistakes from Jessica.
Jessica's acting was solid, leaving no room for mockery. After filming, she would return to her car and close the door, isolating herself from all prying eyes. During breaks, when she discussed scenes with the director, she would quietly stand by, nodding and taking notes in her script. Her attitude was neither arrogant nor scheming. No matter how Donna's assistant tried to photograph her, all they captured were various angles of Jessica working diligently, with nothing worth posting.
Donna was infuriated. She couldn't stand it anymore. When a problem arose during the filming of a particular scene, she wanted to seize the opportunity to mock Jessica. However, Jessica's expression was one of complete acceptance, showing no flaws. Seeing Jessica's assistant holding a camera not far away, Donna gritted her teeth and couldn't say a word, storming off in anger.
If Jessica were truly submissive, it would be fine, but she wasn't!
From a distance, Zoey gave Jessica a thumbs-up, indicating that the photos taken this time, showing Jessica being deliberately bullied, had significantly increased their attention, which was truly impressive!
And this tactic really worked.
Jessica had mentioned while lying in the hospital getting an IV that the best way to deal with someone like Donna was to appear even more bullied than she was!
The next afternoon, the crew's filming schedule was temporarily interrupted.
After telling everyone to wrap up, the director said, "Sunshine Bay City is a tourist city developed by Xyleria. Our recent filming location is a famous resort here. Recently, some officials from Xyleria's construction bureau, along with several big names from the business and political sectors, are coming to Sunshine Bay City for an inspection. Although filming is prohibited in the resort for the next two days, our Virgil is quite familiar with some of the leaders from Xyleria. They have invited our crew to stay at the resort and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Sunshine Bay City!"
All the crew members were thrilled, and the actors, big and small, were extremely happy.
It had only been a few days since filming started, but everyone felt like they had been there for a long time. The sudden two-day vacation, along with the ready-made resort and beautiful scenery, was a delightful surprise.
As soon as the director finished the announcement, the vehicles carrying the leaders from Xyleria began arriving near the resort.
Xyleria was one of the top cities in the country, and the leaders working in its municipal agencies were no ordinary people, not to mention the big shots from both the business and political sectors accompanying them.
Only the crew members were present, along with Sunshine Bay City's local officials and resort managers. While it wasn't exactly a presidential procession, it was certainly a grand welcome.
