Chapter 133 It's Actually Jessica

Jessica had entered the dressing room.
Deborah had just received her agent’s call. She was scolded for a Twitter post that was posted without permission, warning her directly about the current situation. There was definitely someone behind Jessica, prompting Deborah to be more cautious in the future about what to say and what not to say and to avoid any more confrontational behavior that would embarrass the entire studio.
Deborah's Twitter had not been deleted yet, and the number of comments, which originally was just over two thousand, suddenly skyrocketed.
Initially, it was Deborah's fans criticizing in the comments, praising Deborah for being beautiful, kind-hearted, and helping her friends with promotions.
Some casual fans questioned whether Deborah had used her brain before posting the Twitter, as it was rare to see such a brainless female star in the entertainment industry. People who had found her cute and attractive while watching her variety show last year were now unfollowing her directly.
The over two thousand comments were initially just Deborah's own fans interacting, but after Tilans officially announced Jessica, Deborah's Twitter became a lively battlefield for various fan groups.
[The scheming between female stars is so exciting!]
[This Twitter? Delete it quickly. Your IQ is worrying!]
[Not to be rude, Deborah, you slapped your face too quickly. Just recently, you were sarcastically mocking 'good sisters' for lacking resources, and now, suddenly, Jessica has risen to a position you can't reach. Does Jessica, possessing business assets like Tians, require your support to advocate for her?]
[Did you ask Jessica before helping her? Does she know what you're doing?]
[Wasn't KC just announcing Deborah's endorsement a couple of days ago? But didn't I see a KC staff member's Twitter last week hinting that Jessica might be the facial mask endorser?]
[After snatching resources and making this series of moves, it's truly breathtaking!]
[I love watching female stars tear each other apart!]
After changing her clothes, Jessica went straight to the shooting location, avoiding checking the Twitter to avoid affecting her state during filming.
During breaks in filming, when the director was reviewing playbacks, she exchanged a few messages on WhatsApp with Mackenzie. Mackenzie highlighted a few key points about the upcoming shoot for a promotional video, the design inspiration for the video, and several new products that Tilans would be launching soon. In short, Mackenzie briefed Jessica on her upcoming work tasks.
Mackenzie didn't elaborate on why Tilans had chosen Jessica. After the director finished reviewing the playback, he instructed the crew to prepare for the next shot. Jessica handed her phone back to Zoey, lifted her skirt, and hurried back to continue filming.
Meanwhile, Mackenzie received a call from Mr. Morris to apologize personally.
The sudden signing of a spokesperson for the H district by Tilans seemed like an unexpected piece of news in other aspects, with different opinions from different people.
However, Mr. Morris at KC had been feeling pressure from various sources in the past two days.
From a sudden cut in funding from an investment company, they had always had a good relationship with to negative news about the hygiene of a production plant for a skincare product that had been on the market for a long time being dug up.
And now, with Deborah's brainless Twitter causing KC's official account to be bombarded with criticism, many passersby who were dissatisfied inexplicably started talking about experiencing redness and acne after using KC products, suspecting issues with product quality control and planning to report to relevant authorities.
Everything had escalated so quickly that Mr. Morris couldn't even react in time to handle urgent public relations.
Upon seeing Tilans' announcement, although this brand was not directly related to Harriman, the industry insiders on their side were well aware of the connection between Tilans, a Sino-French joint venture, and the Z side, which had significant ties to the Harriman Group.
From the day at the Joyful Oasis Hotel when Gabriel left abruptly to Tilans' announcement today, Mr. Morris belatedly realized where he had gone wrong.
He never fathomed that the pivotal aspect of the issue would surprisingly be Jessica!
He couldn't reach anyone from the Harriman Group, likely having been blocked, so he quickly called Jessica's agent, hoping to make amends.
Without beating around the bush, Mr. Morris directly expressed his intentions, offering apologies, compensation, and even suggesting hosting a banquet at the Joyful Oasis Hotel to ensure a peaceful resolution and prevent a repeat of the previous incident.
Mackenzie didn't respond directly, casually mentioning, "Mr. Morris, the event had already transpired. What's the point of saying all this now? I'm not sure who you've offended. By the way, Mr. Morris, one of your people put something in my drink that day. I took the cup back, had it tested by relevant authorities, and I'll send you a copy of the report for your review soon."
Before Mr. Morris could respond, Mackenzie cut him off, saying, "I still have work to finish here. You should focus on resolving KC's spokesperson issue first. Let's not talk for now."
Almost simultaneously, Deborah's agent received a call from a top editor at a first-tier magazine. "I heard Ms. Whitney's schedule is very tight, with no extra time in the next month or two. Originally, the solo cover at the end of the year was reserved for her, but after our estimation, it seems her schedule won't align, so let's wait until she wraps up before scheduling the solo cover."
Before Deborah's agent could respond, the other party hung up without any courtesy.
On set, Nicholas sat in the rest area, casually observing. The snack options in this remote outdoor location were limited, but after munching on sunflower seeds for two days, Nicholas had adapted.
Although he typically had little interest in entertainment news, his responsibilities towards his future sister-in-law and overseeing the Harriman Entertainment led him to occasionally check Twitter and follow industry updates. After glancing at some factual updates, Nicholas sent a message to Gabriel.
Nicholas: [Tilans' H district CEO was recommended by you, right? Does Jessica know?]
There was a morning meeting at the Harriman Group before noon.
Gabriel, dressed in a white shirt and suit, sat at the head of the conference room, wearing a pair of light gold-rimmed glasses.
After a senior executive from a department had just finished reporting, Gabriel's phone vibrated silently on the table.
"Mr. Harriman, should we pause the meeting?" Wayne asked.
"No need." Gabriel rubbed his temples. "Adjust the plan's sequence, put the key items on hold for now, and there's no need to inform the design team specifically."
Wayne nodded and replied, "Understood."
Gabriel gestured for them to continue their reports, picking up his phone to read the message Nicholas had just sent.
Indeed, the Harriman Group had been the primary financier behind the establishment of Tilans a few years ago, enabling it to become a popular luxury brand domestically due to Harriman Group's comprehensive intervention.
However, Jessica was completely unaware of this fact.
