Chapter 139 Being the Leader of the Harriman Group

Utterly shameless!
Jessica had just finished sneezing, her nose still a bit sore. Suppressing the urge to sneeze again, she followed the store manager inside with an expression devoid of desire, not even looking back.
This store focused on image design but often catered to the upper class. The clothes hanging here or worn by the models were all pricey, mostly international brands, ranging from understated to extravagant, with a wide variety of styles.
Jessica chose a moderately priced beige wool coat, already exceeding five figures, but the quality was truly good. It suited her complexion and style very well.
Of course, the store manager praised them all. Jessica stood in front of the mirror, pondering where they were headed.
The store manager kept on praising. Before Jessica could gather her thoughts, he suddenly brought a matching top and skirt to go with the coat she was trying on. Jessica instinctively took them, tried them on in the fitting room next door, and was met with numerous professional compliments upon stepping out.
"Wait a moment." Just as the store manager was about to help her redo her hairstyle, Jessica snapped out of her thoughts and looked at her clothes. "Wasn't I just buying a coat?"
The store manager smiled. "Our staff outside just consulted Mr. Harriman's opinion. Since you were wearing sportswear inside, which doesn't match the style of this coat, we suggest you change into a complete set."
Jessica usually had decent taste in clothes, but in recent years, she had gotten used to wearing comfortable outfits. She had many styles of women's sportswear or casual wear. On regular visits to the set or events mingling with financiers, she had never dressed this formally before. When she was still with the Jenner family, she didn't often wear this kind of elegant clothing, especially in recent years.
She gazed at herself in the mirror for a while and whispered, "How much is this set inside?"
Seeing Jessica's expression, the store manager assumed she liked the outfit but was surprised by her sudden question. He lowered his voice and replied, "Over eight thousand dollars."
This was a misstep.
When Jessica picked the coat, she carefully checked the price, but she didn't even look at the price of this set before putting it on.
But it looked really good! It seemed suitable for many occasions in the future!
Following her principle of being able to afford such clothes as a female star and considering Gabriel's request to change outfits, the event they were attending was probably not simple. In this upscale place where all the clothes were high-end, she took out her card from her bag. "Charge it to my account."
Initially maintaining a professional smile, the store manager's expression changed to thoughts like, 'So Mr. Harriman, the high and mighty CEO, likes women who are reluctant to spend his money and are very stubbornly frugal,'
'This woman has a clear and beautiful face but knows how to pretend to be innocent and thrifty to attract the attention of her sugar daddy,'
'Women in the entertainment industry are like this, full of drama,' 'Learned something new,' and so on.
However, the store manager quickly composed himself, speaking seriously and calmly, "I'm sorry, Miss Jenner. The Harriman Group's various companies hold annual galas where many executives' outfits are arranged by us. Although Mr. Harriman's clothes have not been custom-made here, and this is our first time meeting him in person, their company has an unlimited VIP exclusive spending channel in our store. The way you were behaving made it quite challenging for us."
In short, Jessica's actions were unnecessary, putting the store staff in a difficult position and showing disrespect to Mr. Harriman, who personally brought her here.
Understanding the situation, Jessica didn't insist further, took back her card, and changed the topic. "Can I leave now?"
"Please wait a moment."
The store manager tidied Jessica's hair, as it was a bit messy from wearing a hat earlier. No special styling was needed. Just a good combing made it look very neat.
Truly a place focused on image design, ensuring that customers leaving the store had no flaws that contradicted their image, even if no specific styling was requested.
Gabriel stood on the sofa side of the store's VIP lounge area, not sitting down but standing tall and straight, exuding elegance.
As Jessica was inside, possibly changing into a whole new outfit, Gabriel showed no impatience. He casually flipped through a magazine from the rack, glancing at a few pages.
Not far away, a couple descended the spiral staircase from the second floor.
Trinity's high heels made a moderate sound on the stairs as she spoke, "We wore pink formalwear for our engagement. For the wedding, I suddenly preferred the white set I had tried on earlier. I also like the white ones better. Let's wait for their new designer to make a few more designs and then place a new order."
Trinity walked down the stairs with Keegan, talking while maintaining her actress's cold and proud demeanor. Her eyes occasionally glanced at Keegan's calm and indifferent face, hoping to see a change in his expression.
To her disappointment, Keegan, although rarely taking time to accompany her to try on dresses, complimented every outfit she tried on, but his face showed no amazement or particular fondness.
"Wasn't today's purpose to try on dresses for the Director Perry movie premiere next month?" Keegan replied calmly, "It's not time for wedding dresses yet."
"I also want to try on some. If there's a suitable style, we can have the designer customize it further. It will definitely look better." Trinity and Keegan had already descended the stairs, her hand still linked with his arm, with store staff casting envious glances at them.
Trinity was so beautiful, and Keegan was handsome and wealthy.. Accompanying his fiancée to try on dresses, they were truly a striking and enviable couple.
Coincidentally, in another fitting room, Jessica, who had previously been rumored with Keegan, was trying on clothes. Although the misunderstanding had been cleared up later, it was indeed a strange coincidence today. It was unknown what expression Trinity would have if she saw Jessica. But Trinity had finished trying on clothes, and Jessica had just entered, so they probably wouldn't meet.
The store staff maintained professional smiles on their faces, but inside, their gossip factor was slightly disappointed at not getting the satisfaction they desired.
After Trinity came down, she continued to communicate with the store staff. Keegan's gaze shifted to the left, and he suddenly caught sight of the tall and upright figure on that side.
Although Gabriel, as the leader of the Harriman Group, might not recognize all the celebrities and dignitaries in Xyleria. All of Xyleria's elite instantly recognized him.
Mr. Harriman?
How did he end up here?
