Chapter 225 Really Sent to Gabriel's Bed

Chapter 225 Really Sent to Gabriel's Bed

Jessica waited for a while and was about to call Gabriel directly.

Although she knew that with his alertness, Gabriel not showing up tonight must mean he was on guard, sending a reminder would at least ease her mind.

She rarely called Gabriel's private number unless it was something urgent.

The call went through, but no one answered.

She called twice more, and it rang for a long time, but still, no one picked up.

No response on WhatsApp, no answer on the phone, what's going on?

Was his phone not with him?

Jessica was about to get up when suddenly, she heard footsteps outside the restroom, sounding like someone was pacing anxiously.

She paused and pressed her ear against the stall door after hearing a few words, carefully listening to the deliberately hushed conversation outside.

It was Virgil's voice, faintly saying into the phone, "Weren't we just supposed to bring her for dinner? Isn't drugging her a bit too much? I understand your intentions, but this wasn't agreed upon by her, and I promised not to do anything rash, just dinner. It cannot happen"

"Jessica is the lead actress in our group, what if something happens to her..."

"Mr. Harriman has already arrived."

"What? She's already drunk your wine and been sent to the room."

"No, I just stepped out to take a couple of calls, and you guys took Jessica away. How am I supposed to explain to her tomorrow?"

"Even if you think Mr. Harriman is interested in her, isn't this method a bit too..."

"Aren't you afraid Mr. Harriman will be upset? He's not someone who can be threatened or coerced. If this backfires, our entire crew could be in trouble."

"No way, which room did you send Jessica to? I need to get her out."

"Mr. Harriman is already in the room."

The voice was intermittent, but it was clear that Virgil was trying to avoid people, deliberately taking the call near this quiet restroom in the second floor. However, it was so quiet, Jessica could hear everything clearly.

But...

Jessica was drugged?

She drank the wine and was sent to the room?

Wasn't she sitting here perfectly fine?

Jessica looked around the restroom; there was nothing wrong, no cameras, and no one knew she was here.

She got up and listened carefully again. It seemed Virgil was so angry that he had thrown his phone and was pacing back and forth anxiously.

At least he had some humanity left.

He remembered his promise and was worried about her.

Jessica pushed the door and walked out. As she reached the restroom door, she saw Virgil standing there with a troubled expression, trying to figure out what to do. When he suddenly saw Jessica come out, he was startled and looked her up and down several times in shock before exclaiming, "Why are you here?"

"Where else would I be?" Jessica teased, glancing around to make sure no one else was there, then looked back at Virgil. She didn't have time to beat around the bush and directly asked, "What's going on tonight? I heard your phone call just now."

Virgil was momentarily speechless. Seeing Jessica's determined look, he finally said, "I'm sorry, Jessica. I originally agreed to bring you here for dinner because they thought Mr. Harriman was interested in you and wanted you to accompany him to make him happy. But I didn't expect them to..."

Jessica raised an eyebrow, looking at him, waiting for him to continue.

However, Virgil paused for a moment  before suddenly asked in confusion, "Since you didn't drink the wine they sent over later, who is the woman they sent to the room?"

"Really,  they prepare something as extreme as drugging? Are all these officials so..."

Jessica didn't finish her sentence but suddenly paused.

The woman sent to the room?

The room?

Gabriel went into that room.

That unknown woman was in Gabriel's room!

She suddenly fixed her gaze on Virgil, her voice turning colder, "Where is she?"

Seeing Jessica's expression, as if something major had happened, Virgil shrugged. "I don't know."

After all, the person sent in wasn't Jessica. If something really happened and Gabriel got furious, it wouldn't be their problem.

Virgil finally breathed a sigh of relief, but then saw Jessica suddenly turn and head downstairs.

"Jessica, where are you going? If they see you suddenly appear here and forcefully send you in, what then? Are you crazy? Come back," Virgil called out to her in a low voice.

But Jessica didn't look back and ran downstairs.

There were three floors in Azure Wave. The third-floor rooms need to be reserved, so she couldn't go up. The second floor was empty, and the first floor was more lively.

There were alsosome rooms on the first floor, but they weren't as secluded as the third-floor rooms.

Without needing to think, she guessed that the room they arranged must be on the third floor.

She ran to the bar, wanting to demand the front desk give her the elevator card for the third floor with a fierce look, but reason told her that wouldn't work. She had to suppress her anger and disgust, spending $500 to book a room on the third floor. After getting the elevator card, she rushed to the elevator to the third floor.

On the third floor, the hallway was empty and quiet, with only the European-style tiled walls and soft European carpets on either side.

Jessica walked past each room door, calling Gabriel on her phone.

Once, no answer.

Twice, no answer.

'Answer the phone, Gabriel!' Jessica thought in her heart.

Just as she was hurrying down the hallway, she suddenly heard the faint sound of high heels hitting the floor near the emergency exit.

Jessica quickly turned her eyes to the emergency exit door and walked over, pushing the door open to see Donna standing inside.

Donna's expression froze when she saw Jessica. Instinctively, she quickly threw the phone she had just been using into her pocket, avoiding Jessica's gaze and turning to walk down the stairs.

Jessica watched her hurriedly descending back and coldly asked, "Was the wrong woman sent to the room arranged by you?"

Donna paused, not in a hurry to leave, and turned to Jessica, her eyes filled with obvious excitement and a sense of victory.

As expected.

Who in the group would be most afraid of Jessica suddenly gaining a high status?

Who else but Donna?

If Donna had known about their intemtion tonight but feared Jessica would really be sent to Gabriel's bed and use his power to rise to a certain height, she only needed to take advantage of the chaos to put another woman in. She believed she could successfully block Jessica's path.

Donna was indeed bold, daring to thwart the plans of Xyleria's leaders.

She really was relying on having a godfather like Carl to do whatever she wanted.

There was no time to question who had colluded with Donna. Jessica suppressed the urge to slap her and sternly asked, "Which room is she in?"
