Chapter 349 Who's Distracted?

Gabriel didn't bat an eye at Lynn's constant accusations. He stood there, cool and collected, in front of the group.

It wasn't until Lynn finally stopped her rant that the hotel manager, standing just behind Gabriel, spoke up. "Miss, we're really sorry for the bad experience. We'll look into it right away and get back to you."

Lynn scoffed, "An explanation? When I went to the front desk earlier, they were so rude and didn't care at all. They treated us like idiots! If that's how the front desk acts, what should I expect from you, the manager?"

She glanced at the manager's name tag and sneered again, "Is it because your boss is here that you're suddenly acting all responsible?"

Gabriel glanced at the manager, his face still unreadable.

Feeling a chill from his boss's look, the manager quickly said, "That's not it! we dropped the ball on making your stay good for you and your friend, we get it. But there's no need for that kind of talk, alright? We'll fix it, and if compensation is needed, we'll handle it right away."

"Compensation?" Lynn suddenly pulled Jessica, who had been standing quietly behind her, and pushed her forward.

Jessica, caught off guard, stumbled a bit and found herself in front of everyone, including Gabriel.

Jessica was about to turn around, confused, when Lynn spoke up, "See this? Jessica, our artist, came back late last night and got disturbed by someone knocking on her door in the middle of the night. And again early this morning! She was scared out of her mind!"

Jessica was speechless.

She thought, 'Who was scared out of their mind?'

'Isn't that overstated?'

The hotel execs, who had come up with their boss, all looked at Jessica. They recognized the famous actress.

Jessica did look a bit shaken.

If she wasn't just an amazing actress, then maybe she really was scared.

The hotel manager politely addressed Jessica, "You're Ms. Jenner, right? I'll call the head of room service right now to find out what happened. Once we know, the hotel will take responsibility and compensate you. We hope you'll give us a chance to make things right."

Jessica, hair still wet and barefoot, shivered in the hallway's air conditioning.

Seeing the manager's professional smile, she straightened up, realizing she should act like a guest. But since Lynn had already said everything, she just nodded.

The manager then turned to Lynn and said, "Ms. Jenner has agreed. What about you..."

"Then solve it. Your boss is watching. I want to see how fast you can resolve this," Lynn said, crossing her arms and glancing at the legendary Gabriel.

The manager, feeling both embarrassed and anxious, quickly said to Gabriel, "Mr. Harriman, it's really unfortunate. Maybe we should..."

"Should what?" Gabriel said, his expression unchanged. His calm yet emotionless tone sent a chill through the manager. "Shouldn't you be doing what needs to be done right now?"

The manager's face tightened under Gabriel's stern gaze. He immediately urged the hotel executives to start investigating the matter.

Then he turned back to Gabriel, smiling apologetically, "Mr. Harriman, you see..."

Gabriel remained standing, his voice as cold as ever. "You send your people to work, but you stay here. Do you think I want to see you?"

"Mr. Harriman, it's because you're here that I didn't dare leave. Your assistant isn't here today, and I can't just leave you alone."

Gabriel stood there silently, not saying another word.

The manager, chilled by his gaze, quickly bowed and scurried away. This matter had to be resolved by him personally; otherwise, it wouldn't just be Gabriel who was displeased, but also the guest, who clearly wasn't someone to be brushed off.

Lynn then turned her gaze to the cold, aloof, and infuriatingly handsome Gabriel.

His words, though few, landed with the weight of command.

It was the natural authority of someone in a high position. When he glanced in their direction, his cold, distant eyes were as inscrutable as the rumors said, making people feel unwelcome.

From her observation, his gaze never lingered on Jessica, as if he didn't know her at all.

Several hotel executives had already left the hallway, leaving only two or three standing respectfully behind Gabriel.

The atmosphere turned quiet. Jessica leaned toward Lynn. "I'm going back to my room to dry my hair. We have a flight to catch, so let's not waste too much time." She then nodded politely in Gabriel's direction without looking at him and returned to her room.

The sound of the hairdryer wasn't loud, but it masked the noise of the door opening.

When Lynn returned to the room, Jessica's hair was almost dry. She saw Lynn leaning against the bathroom door through the mirror and stopped drying her hair. She unplugged the hairdryer, set it aside, and casually ran her fingers through her hair. "Did you do that on purpose?"

Lynn looked down, fiddling with her nails. "In what way?"

Jessica suddenly turned to her.

Lynn finally looked at her and quickly said, "I did hear that you and Mr. Harriman seemed to have a romantic relationship, but it was just a rumor. Mackenzie and the others never mentioned it."
