Chapter 204 Gabriel's Patience Ran Out

Chapter 204 Gabriel's Patience Ran Out.

"Isn't Jessica still pretty sick with that cold? If she sneezes while serving tea, that would be quite a scene." Donna crossed her arms arrogantly. "I think it's better to call someone else over. It's better than spraying the leaders of Xyleria with spit."

Surprisingly, Jessica was playing along with Donna today, and she let out a sneeze right where she was.

Virgil, choosing to ignore it, continued to drag Jessica forward. "You don't have to do much. If you can, just hit a few balls. If not, just sit down and be a spectator."

Jessica never thought she'd have a day where she relied on her looks to be a spectator.

Gabriel didn't join the Xyleria leaders in admiring the scenery. Instead, he sat in the rest area behind the sports zone, chatting with a senior with whom he had collaborated multiple times about the redevelopment of the Sunshine Bay City resort hotels.

The midday sun had passed, and the afternoon sunlight was even harsher. It was rare for it not to be so cold today, but there was still a bit of wind blowing. The surrounding renovated greenery and lawns were lush, and the air was fresh, making people feel comfortable and relaxed.

Jessica really didn't know how to play golf. She had found a spot to sit down, but Virgil didn't give up and insisted she practice a few swings before the leaders arrived, even if it was just to learn some basic moves.

Gabriel glanced over in that direction. The rest area was some distance from the golf course, but he could see most of what was happening over there. He didn't make any moves or say anything, occasionally discussing cooperation matters with the senior next to him, answering calmly. His long fingers subtly rubbed the coffee cup, and a faint, leisurely smile played on his face.

Only Wayne, standing nearby, noticed that Gabriel's eyebrows had twitched three or four times as Jessica repeatedly missed her shots.

The last time, Jessica hit the ball directly at Virgil's head, making him yelp in pain. Jessica apologized repeatedly, handed the club back to Virgil, and quickly returned to her seat.

Wayne couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, amazed at Jessica's terrible golf skills. He cautiously glanced at Gabriel. Just then, Gabriel turned to talk to the senior, so Wayne didn't see Gabriel's expression, but he sensed that Gabriel was also speechless about her skills.

Gabriel, seemingly unconcerned, chatted a bit more before his gaze returned to the distant golf course. He leisurely adjusted his sitting position to get a better view.

The development rights for the Sunshine Bay City resort hotels were in the hands of the Harriman Group.

Gabriel hadn't initially planned to take on tourism-related projects here and was considering adjustments to all the group's current projects. The Sunshine Bay City hotels' facilities and service attitudes, along with the various scenic spots and ancient streets similar to those of other tourist cities, had not yielded satisfactory evaluations. For the Harriman Group, the development of Sunshine Bay City was in a difficult position.

It was not worth much, but it was a pity to abandon it.

However, for the leaders of the Xyleria Construction and Resources Bureaus, if the Harriman Group could put more effort into this, developing it into a popular domestic tourist spot would be just around the corner.

That was why they repeatedly invited Gabriel to come. Today's social event at the resort was also to encourage Gabriel to visit more often and spark his interest in the Sunshine Bay City project.

Several directors and deputy directors had already returned and casually chatted as they approached. "Is that Carl's goddaughter?"

"Yes."

"The Nelson Group's profits have skyrocketed in the past two years. The real estate industry is indeed still a giant. I heard that the Harriman Group is preparing to take on several projects this year, and the Nelson Group had been eyeing them, trying to get ahead. But with Gabriel in the lead, no matter how cunning Carl is, he remains defeated by Gabriel."

The surrounding people were very interested in the cutthroat nature of the business world, and soon the conversation shifted to Gabriel.

Gabriel didn't react much, only saying calmly, "Since everyone is here, why stand around chatting? Why not get moving?"

"I see the golf course is quite lively. Let's join the young folks and have some fun."

"Let's go, let's take a look."

"Mr. Harriman, come join us!"

The leaders were very enthusiastic about golf. Seeing the clubs, they couldn't resist playing a few rounds. Donna and a few other actresses occasionally joined in, but they either played poorly or didn't know how to play at all, so they could only cheer, "Go, you're so handsome. Great job. Wow, nice shot. Wow, you scored!"

Jessica rubbed her forehead but couldn't isolate herself too much. She stood behind them, clapping softly, barely making any sound.

Virgil was still trying to find familiar faces to chat with. Suddenly, Donna left the crowd, took a kettle, and started pouring coffee for the leaders, greeting them sweetly. Everyone immediately understood why a girl with limited abilities like Donna could gain Carl's favor.

She was just too proactive.

Donna poured coffee for each person, greeting them one by one, and made her way to the middle seat in the first row.

As she approached the kettle, Gabriel turned his head, glanced at her briefly, and raised his hand slightly to block her. "No need."

Donna hadn't faced any rejection so far. After all, few men could resist the sweet smile of a young girl like her. Even if she did nothing, they would gladly accept her kindness.

"Mr. Harriman, aren't you thirsty?"

Gabriel seemed not to hear her, glancing down at the company emails on his phone. His expression was extremely indifferent, clearly signaling a refusal to engage.

Donna had heard that Gabriel was famously aloof towards women, but at the last Tilans banquet, she heard that Gabriel had taken a woman away from the event. Although she was far from the dance floor at the time and many people didn't know what was happening, she had heard about it. She didn't know which woman he had taken, but it at least proved he was interested in women.

At this moment, Virgil nudged Jessica with his elbow, giving her a look to learn from Donna. He handed her a kettle and signaled her to start pouring coffee from the other side of the first row.

Jessica, holding the kettle that seemed to appear out of nowhere, turned around speechlessly and suddenly saw Donna standing by Gabriel, smiling charmingly.

Donna, thinking she was being very discreet, said, "Mr. Harriman, my godfather, Mr. Nelson, mentioned recently that he would like to find an opportunity to collaborate with you."

Gabriel's patience ran out, and he said slowly and coolly, "Didn't Carl teach you not to casually mention the title of godfather in formal settings? You don't need to pour me coffee. Save it for yourself and wash your face to wake up."
