Chapter 90 Don't Remember What Happened Last Night
Gabriel's eyes were dark and deep. Perhaps it was inevitable for people to think more when something happened. Jessica almost thought he had seen the rumors online, and even believed those nonexistent things, so he looked down at her like in this early morning.
She shifted her gaze back to her cellphone and was about to walk past him. Suddenly, Gabriel's arm grabbed her, pulling her back just like last night.
"What are you doing..."
Jessica couldn't recall the events following her intoxication last night, but a familiar sensation briefly clouded her mind, flashing fragmented images from the previous evening.
As she was pulled back, she suddenly looked up.
"Feeling clearer now?"
"Nonsense!" Jessica knew he was asking if she was sober, but she wasn't in the mood to respond, so she retorted impatiently, raising her hand to run her fingers through her hair. She felt it clean, and her body has no odor, not like a hangover last night.
Gabriel caught sight of her seriously sniffing at a strand of hair she pulled up. "You took a shower last night."
Jessica let go of the hair, looking up at him thoughtfully. "How did I end up sleeping in the main bedroom?"
Did she get so drunk last night that she forgot there were other people at home and instinctively went to sleep in the main bedroom?
"Don't you remember what happened last night?"
Jessica filled with a hint of panic.
What happened last night?
Besides getting drunk, what else did she do?
Seeing Jessica subconsciously lower her head to check her own pajamas, then raising her eyes with a defensive glint, Gabriel's lips curled up slightly, not dispelling her misguided thoughts, but merely looking at her with a smile that wasn't quite a smile.
Meeting Gabriel's deep, inscrutable gaze, she realized he wouldn't be wearing that smile if she had truly taken advantage of him.
Jessica suddenly snapped out of it, rolled her eyes, and pushed him away. "I'm not in the mood for jokes with you."
As she spoke, she walked a bit away from him, directly to the sofa and sat down, picked up a cup from the table, poured herself a full glass of warm water, drank it all in one go, feeling much better in her stomach that had been scorched by alcohol last night.
She picked up her cellphone, took a deep breath, and opened her Twitter.
Although Jessica knew her fame and popularity were not high enough, she was well aware of Keegan and Trinity's identities. Keegan liking her Twitter post had caused quite a stir in the industry, which was not surprising.
She had expected her Twitter to be flooded with tens of thousands of abusive private messages after last night's debacle, with negative trends still dominating the top searches.
However, all the top searches on Twitter were about other daily trending topics, and any trending discussions related to her name had vanished without a trace.
Trinity's public relations team had been monitoring real-time trends. Initially, the trends were manipulated, but after a night of controversy and escalating online skirmishes with easily provoked fans, the heat and attention had transformed into authentic engagement, even increasing in the early hours of the morning. Everyone was pleased as this meant they could wrap things up perfectly.
But before five in the morning, the trends suddenly disappeared.
Moreover, all entertainment news websites, including major entertainment forums, gradually removed many discussion threads about Jessica.
Trinity's team thought something was wrong and immediately called the marketing company and the relevant personnel on the trending side.
The response they received was that the exact situation was unknown. The only certainty was that all related posts and tweets on Twitter had been reviewed by online inspectors, identified as violations, and subsequently reported. Furthermore, the leaders were being held accountable, as the situation was being treated seriously and investigated by higher authorities.
Trinity woke up in the morning, did her skincare routine, and then opened Twitter to see what was happening.
To her surprise, all the top searches about Jessica had disappeared. Searching for the unfair content that had been pushed to the top last night resulted in a blank page, accompanied by a message stating that search results could not be displayed according to relevant laws and policies.
Trinity couldn't believe it and repeatedly searched for several related topics, all yielding the same results.
Searching for 'Jessica,' she could only find official content from the drama production team and press releases from the entertainment studio. At times, one or two negative comments would surface, but they vanished upon refreshing.
Upon refreshing, she saw several verified marketing accounts posting photos of Jessica and expressing their expectations for her character in the drama, all positive publicity.
How could this be?
Trinity had already investigated the small entertainment company and studio behind Jessica, and they simply didn't have the power to erase all comments across the internet. Moreover, these high-level Twitter marketing accounts had millions of followers, each post costing at least tens of thousands in promotion fees. Jessica's small team couldn't possibly manage it!
Trinity immediately called her studio, and the public relation team said they had contacted the marketing side and the trending side, but didn't get a clear answer, only that it was being investigated by higher-ups to crack down on rumors.
Trinity personally called the marketing side and received the same response.
When she contacted the trending platform, the staff there were quite unfriendly. They had always maintained a friendly relationship with Four Seas Entertainment and treated Trinity warmly. Today, however, the staff on the phone sounded very cold and official. Finally, one of them abruptly reminded her, "Miss Trinity, do you want to take another look at the Twitter trends?"
Trinity was puzzled, hung up, and reopened Twitter.
Suddenly, the top trending topic was #Keegan Attends the Capital Chamber of Commerce Exhibition#.
Opening that trend, it was filled with snapshots of Keegan at the conference in the capital a few days ago, confirming that he was not in Xyleria yesterday.
After refreshing, the trend still remained at the top, with even a dark red explosion word appearing later.
On the real-time popular feed, there was a screenshot of network IP data investigation results, showing that the network IP location Keegan used to like the Twitter post was in Xyleria, while Keegan was in the capital at that time.
As it was still morning and many people hadn't woken up yet, the gossip netizens who had been following the drama all afternoon and evening suddenly became excited.
It wasn’t Keegan who personally liked Jessica's Twitter post!
Did someone else log into his Twitter to deliberately like it?
Who could hate Jessica so much that almost everyone launched a comprehensive online attack on her last night, only to have such a bizarre turn of events happen early in the morning?
