Chapter 52 Looks Like It's Wealthy

After she spoke, she turned to leave but then added, "You've been eating and staying here for free for quite some time. Asking you to help carry some groceries doesn't seem unreasonable, does it?"

Gabriel agreed, "Not at all. It's only fair."

"Yay!" Danielle cheered from his embrace, raising her hands excitedly. "Spencer's going to the grocery store with Mommy and me. Gabriel, what do you want to eat? Tell me, and I'll get it for you!"

"Danielle, where's your Money coming from? Isn't it actually mine?" Jessica turned back. "Come on down, don't have him hold you. His injury has just healed, and if he uses all his strength now, who will help us carry the groceries later?"
Danielle clamped her mouth shut, waiting until she saw her mom disappear down the hallway before she hurriedly scooped Gabriel up. With concern, she whispered into his ear, "Can you handle carrying all that stuff? Mom said her car is in the shop again, and it's going to be quite the walk back from the supermarket."

Gabriel gave a light chuckle, patted her on the head, and gently set her down to glance at the bags Jessica had brought in earlier.

Jessica called out for Danielle to step outside, saying she was going to change clothes and it wasn't proper for Danielle, being a girl, to watch. Danielle quickly covered her blushing cheeks and dashed out of the room, thoughtfully closing the door behind her.

Not long after, Gabriel emerged from the bedroom in fresh clothes.

Danielle had just gotten permission from her mom to open a small box of yogurt. Sipping it on the couch, she heard the noise and turned around, her little mouth opening wide in awe.

Jessica, who had just come from the kids' room with a little coat for Danielle, also looked up and went to a halt.

She had bought two sets of men's casual wear made from soft and comfortable fabric. This type of clothing is usually quite picky about the body type it suits, as some can't properly complement the relaxed and comfy style.

The man standing in front of the bedroom was striking, simply looking over at her with a calm demeanor. He was wearing the sporty casual set, yet somehow, he made it look effortlessly sophisticated and pricey.

It was as if a celestial being, accustomed to observing the world from afar, had somehow found itself caught up in the everyday humdrum of human existence.
"Wow, wow, wow, you look so cool!" Danielle exclaimed robustly after gulping her yogurt, her big eyes not exaggerating a bit.

Gabriel, faced with the unabashed praise from a four-year-old, smiled mildly and turned to look at Jessica.

Jessica quickly averted her gaze, refusing to keep looking at the man who appeared so striking and majestic but, at that moment, seemed so approachable, "Come on, let's go, no dawdling!"

The supermarket wasn't too far, just about a kilometer away. Jessica's car was still being fixed, thanks to some careless kid's mistake, and without a car, the distance wasn't worth taking a cab, so they decided to walk.

Danielle held onto Gabriel's hand the whole way, with Jessica on the other side. Gabriel, tall and with a long stride, didn't seem at all like he was injured, and Jessica found herself having to keep up with his pace.

People in their neighborhood looked on with surprise and envy as they passed by as if they had never noticed such an attractive little family living among them.
Few young people were present in this quaint neighborhood predominantly inhabited by seniors. Yet one couldn't help but notice a tall, strikingly handsome, without-flaw young man, a beautiful and gracious woman, and their bubbly and adorable child who was particularly clingy to their father—a family with striking good looks, harmony, and palpable happiness that sparked envy.
