Chapter 425 Holding My Great-Granddaughter in My Lifetime

The car rolled to a stop at this super fancy private estate in Xyleria.

Danielle woke up from a quick nap and hopped out of the car, looking around all curious.

Even though it was winter in Xyleria, this southern spot still had a bunch of flowers and green stuff everywhere. The air smelled really nice, too.

"Daddy Gabriel! Where are we?" Danielle asked, bouncing around and holding Gabriel's hand. "Look at all these pretty flowers!"

She was getting used to calling him "Daddy," sometimes just "Daddy" and other times "Daddy Gabriel."

Gabriel didn't mind at all, always answering her with a smile.

Jessica sometimes wondered if Gabriel was under some kind of spell.

It was already ten o'clock. Who visits someone this late?

Deep in the estate, there was this cute white cottage. Inside, the decor was super classy.

"Wow, so pretty," Danielle kept saying. Then she saw an old lady with white hair coming out. She stopped in her tracks, just like her mom Jessica. Even though the old lady looked nice and was smiling, Danielle instinctively hugged Gabriel's leg, glancing at Jessica, who looked a bit surprised.

"Gabriel's here?" Seraphina said with a gentle voice, smiling.

Seraphina, looked like she was in her seventies or eighties, about the same age as Michael. She was pretty spry, with just two maids cleaning the place.

Seraphina didn't seem to care much about looking young. Her white hair looked natural, and she had this calm elegance about her. She wore comfy clothes, showing off a lifetime of grace.

Gabriel nodded at Seraphina while gently patting Danielle, who was still hugging his leg. He softly said, "Danielle, say hello to great-grandmother."

Jessica was confused.

Great-grandmother?

Danielle looked at the white-haired Seraphina, probably never having seen someone with such pretty white hair.

Hearing Gabriel's words, Seraphina looked even more surprised and happy as she glanced at Danielle by his leg. "Is this the one you mentioned..."

Danielle, feeling Gabriel's encouraging pats on her head, let go of his leg and cheerfully said, "Hello, great-grandmother!"

"Oh my fairy!" Seraphina, who had been smiling, now had tears in her eyes. She quickly bent down and opened her arms. "Come here, my dear! I can't wait to give you a hug!"

Danielle looked up at Gabriel, got his warm and encouraging nod, then took small steps, running towards Seraphina, who had her arms open.

Seraphina immediately hugged Danielle, looking closely at her face. She exclaimed with joy, "This child looks so much like Gabriel when he was little!"

Danielle didn't get it and looked at her curiously. "Great-grandmother, my name is Danielle, not 'this child.'"

Seraphina laughed heartily. "Haha, I know, I know you're little Danielle. How are you so pretty and cute? Oh, your hands, so small and soft. I haven't held a child in decades. How do you smell so nice? So clean and neat. You are wonderful! Give me a hug. Oh, my little darling."

Jessica thought she had experienced all kinds of encounters in her twenty-something years, but now she was completely bewildered.

What great-grandmother?

What does "looks so much like" mean?

Like Gabriel?

Did Seraphina just say Danielle looks like Gabriel when he was little?

What does that mean?

Jessica turned her gaze and saw Gabriel's gentle and calm profile.

Gabriel was right beside her, holding her hand that had nowhere to rest, the warmth and reality of it calming her down a bit, but she still couldn't figure it out.

What does "this child looks so much like Gabriel when he was little" mean?

How could they look alike? What did Gabriel look like when he was little? Did he do something to make Seraphina believe it?

How could it be?

How could there be such a coincidence in the world?

Jessica didn't know what Gabriel's thought was, but seeing Seraphina genuinely liking Danielle, she didn't want to interrupt this warmth that Danielle had never experienced.

Seraphina kissed Danielle a few times, then looked up at Jessica and smiled. "No wonder Danielle is so beautiful. She looks just like young Gabriel, and her mom is gorgeous too. Are you Jessica? I saw your advertisement at the airport when I returned to the country. I thought young people nowadays are much prettier than us. I never expected the person on the billboard to be my granddaughter-in-law. What a coincidence!"

Jessica immediately nodded respectfully to Seraphina and smiled. "You're too kind."

Seraphina chuckled. "No need to be so formal. Gabriel has told me about you. You've had a tough time over the years. Now that you're part of the Harriman family, just call me grandma like Gabriel does."

Jessica was slightly surprised but managed to keep her expression composed. She had guessed Seraphina's identity earlier, but she didn't expect her to be Gabriel's grandma. She hadn't heard much about her during her few visits to the Harriman family and she didn't know much about Michael's generation.

Gabriel gave her a look, indicating that she should call her grandma.

Jessica hesitated for a moment, then she saw Danielle still smiling happily in Seraphina's arms. She politely said, "Grandma."

"Well." Aurora smiled with satisfaction and didn't ask any more questions. She just held Danielle, clearly very fond of her, not wanting to let her go. "I never thought I'd get to hold my great-granddaughter in my lifetime. I'm so glad I came back to the country. Otherwise, I might never have met little Danielle."

"What is a great-granddaughter? Does it mean great-grandmother is greater than grandma?" Danielle asked curiously.

Aurora laughed heartily. "Fine, because I'm your daddy's grandma, I'm a generation older than grandma, so I'm great-grandmother!"
