Chapter 37 Backed by Pegasus Global Holdings
The Harriman family?
Trinity's face paled at the mention.
The Harriman family consisted of people so high above, far out of reach for the socialites and heiresses she knew, and even beyond her reach. How could Jessica possibly have any connection with them?
"The person insisting on protecting Jessica is pivotal, although their identity is not revealed. These are direct words from the CEO of River View Pictures. Do you think someone who can attract his attention can be of simple standing?" Joseph was really in a tough spot. He didn't want to offend Trinity and pleaded earnestly, "Trinity, let's drop the idea of recasting."
Trinity clenched her fingers into a fist, and her tone turned icy. "That River View Pictures, despite being a subsidiary of Pegasus Global Holdings, has always been involved in the risky business of media and entertainment, haven't they? They never meddle in disputes about artists from other companies, do they? A firm focused on investments suddenly stepping into this matter. Why?"
Joseph was silent, simply because he didn't know why. What could he say?
But considering River View Pictures' capacity, they had never signed any artists, focusing solely on industry investments. If one day they decided to sign artists and formally enter the entertainment sector, then SH Entertainment's position in the circle would indeed feel threatened.
Especially with Pegasus Global Holdings behind them.
Hearing the director's cautious silence, Trinity abruptly threw her cell phone to the side. Her anger caused her freshly done nails to dig fiercely into the palm of her hand.
At 10:30 in the morning, Landon finally received another call from Gabriel.
In the two days since he had found out Gabriel was safe, Landon still had no clear idea where exactly Gabriel was. But he didn't dare ask; as long as he received Gabriel's guidance on any major company decisions, that was enough for him to maintain control of the situation.
The monthly meetings at Pegasus Global Holdings were essential, as they facilitated the communication and reporting between the headquarters and various subsidiary companies' senior management.
Landon connected his cellphone signal to a miniature communication device and brought it into the meeting room. As the CEO's assistant and executive assistant, he had the privilege of participating in these high-level meetings.
Since Gabriel's incident, Michael has temporarily overseen Pegasus Global Holdings. However, due to health reasons, Michael seldom comes to the office.
For today's crucial monthly meeting, though Michael had come in person, he had instructed the executives to connect via video conference instead of attending physically. Quite coincidentally, many of the board directors and subsidiary company executives had arrived; not a single one was absent.
Especially Simon, Gabriel's uncle, who had been in charge of other major risk investments within Pegasus Global Holdings for many years. Usually based in D City, he had lately been frequenting Xyleria. Naturally, he was present at this meeting.
Michael looked with displeasure at Simon, with whom he had never been close.
True to Gabriel's prediction, Simon discussed the significant impact Gabriel's disappearance had on the company. He also conveniently highlighted the foolish mistakes made by several subsidiaries managed by the older directors due to internal financial conflicts.
All these challenging issues were directed at Michael, who sat at the head of the meeting table, already in his eighties. While verbally expressing the need to locate the CEO to resolve these issues, in reality, the pressure was blatant, an attempt to force Michael to reveal the truth of Gabriel's presumed death to the public. The CEO position needed an immediate successor, as the disputes caused by the older directors could only be resolved with the CEO.
