Chapter 302 Uncle Spencer, Took Me to Find Mommy

As Gabriel spoke, his eyes had already locked onto the kindergarten teacher at the door.

Gabriel's gaze was as cold as ice, sending chills down her spine.

The teacher burst into tears right there. "Danielle's dad, I'm so sorry. There are just too many kids in the class. Dismissal time is chaotic with helping them find their coats and shoes. I thought it was just the usual little squabbles and didn't expect it to get this bad, so I..."

"So you weighed it up, knew it was your screw-up that got both kids hurt, and decided to throw the weaker one under the bus first?" Gabriel's voice was cold, his anger barely contained.

"I..." The teacher bit her lip. "I didn't mean it like that, I just..."

Landon, standing nearby, suddenly frowned and said coldly, "You just thought it would be unwise to offend Tommy's parents. Moreover,  Danielle comes from a single-parent family and is usually picked up by a nanny, so you put all the blame on Danielle when reporting to the principal. Then, in front of us and Danielle at the kindergarten gate, you reiterated your one-sided version of the events from your perspective?"

The teacher was speechless and turned to the principal for help.

The principal didn't look happy either. "Ms. Gray, as a teacher, you shouldn't behave this way. We'll come up with a reasonable solution to your issue by tomorrow. Right now, the immediate concern is that both Tommy and Danielle need to go to the hospital for their injuries, so we..."

"Yeah, since both kids are hurt and there's been a misunderstanding, let's take them to the hospital first," Trevor quickly interjected, seizing the opportunity.

"You two weren't in a hurry to take Tommy to the hospital earlier, so there's no rush now," Gabriel said coolly, glancing at them. "Since the rights and wrongs are clear, let's return to the topic we were discussing when we came in. Who do you think will have a hard time in Xyleria?"

Heather's face turned pale instantly, and she looked to Trevor for help.

Trevor had no choice but to say, "Mr. Harriman, we're really sorry. It was all just a big misunderstanding, that's all."

He then quickly smiled at Danielle. "Danielle is so well-behaved and adorable. We were just speaking out of concern for our own child. We would never really make things difficult for a little kid."

Gabriel's voice was calm and indifferent. "Children don't understand, so there's no need for adults to make things difficult for them. But if parents are so clueless in their education, it shows they're not very smart. In business, one of the biggest mistakes is choosing a partner who isn't smart enough, as it can lead to unnecessary trouble and embarrassment for both parties."

Trevor understood the hint, and it felt like a knife was twisting in his heart.

They had spent a year preparing a bid to work with the Harriman Group, but now their chances were slipping away...

Heather turned to glare at Tommy, but it was no use.

Leaving the kindergarten, Gabriel held Danielle's hand as they walked out.

Danielle didn't really get what it meant to be wronged or responsible. She just knew the teacher and Tommy had blamed her unfairly, and it made her feel bad. But now, that feeling was gone, and she was happily skipping along like nothing had happened.

"Mr. Harriman, I'll head back to the office now," Landon said, checking his watch.

Gabriel nodded and then scooped up the still-skipping Danielle. "What do you want for dinner?"

Danielle hugged his neck and rubbed her cheek against his chin. "Anything's fine, but I miss Mommy."

As she spoke, she sat obediently in his arms, her little bottom perched on Gabriel's arm, blinking her eyes. "Those people earlier were so mean. If it were my mommy, she would reason with the kids and wouldn't scare them like that."

Gabriel carried her to the car. "Has Danielle ever been bullied by other kids in kindergarten?"

"No," Danielle giggled. "Mommy said we shouldn't bully other kids, but we also shouldn't let other kids bully us. If someone bullies me, I should tell the teacher. If the teacher doesn't do anything, I can handle it in a way I think is right."

Gabriel placed her in the car and buckled her seatbelt. "Remember, no matter what problem you face, don't be afraid. Besides your mom, you'll also have me.I'll have your back.."

Danielle giggled and reached out her chubby arms to hug his neck, sweetly asking, "If other kids say I don't have a dad, can I tell them you are my dad?"

Gabriel pinched her little nose, his voice calm and gentle. "Yes."

Danielle was so happy she almost bounced in her seat, but with the seatbelt on, she sat obediently in the back seat, looking out the window. "But Uncle Spencer, we're so close to home. Why are we driving? Aren't we going home?"

"You said you missed your mom, right?"

"Wow, Uncle Spencer, are you taking me to see Mommy? Can I really go?"

Gabriel took off his coat and covered Danielle with it. "It's a two-and-a-half-hour drive. If you get sleepy, you can nap in the car. When you wake up, you'll see Mommy."

"Wow! I'm so happy today!"

Gabriel was about to close the back door when he heard this. He looked down at her with a smile. "When are you not happy?"

Danielle giggled and buried her face in his coat, feeling a bit shy.

H City.

Jessica had finished filming her scenes with the other actors earlier today but had been waiting for her scenes with Donna. Donna's progress was slow, and by the time they finished their scenes, it was already past 8 PM.

As the RV slowly drove towards the hotel, Jessica put down her script, silently thinking about the scenes and plot for tomorrow. She picked up her phone to check the message Cynthia had sent her.

Cynthia: [Star Entertainment's contracts with other artists also have significant issues. Even if it goes to court, you can leverage these unreasonable clauses to gain more benefits. The penalty could be reduced by half. With the help of the lawyer Mr. Harriman sent, and considering the aggressive style of Harriman Group's legal team, the final penalty you have to pay might not exceed fifty thousand dollars, maybe even less.]

Jessica replied: [Okay, let's go with that for now. I'll review the termination appeal letter to see if any additional points need to be added.]

Cynthia: [Alright.]
