Chapter 102 Rarely Watching TV with Her

"Why did you answer the phone? Where's Gabriel?" Diana's voice was cold as she questioned.
"He's doing the dishes."
Does Gabriel clean the dishes?
The thought of their interactions during her absence made Diana seethe with hatred towards Jessica.
"Mrs. Bush, if there's nothing else, I'll hang up."
"How do you know I'm fine? What if I don’t?"
"Is that so?" Jessica sneered, "Then tell me, what's the matter? Gabriel and I are married. Talking to me is the same as talking to him."
"Unfortunately, I only want to tell Gabriel in person."
Diana deliberately emphasized the word "in person."
Jessica chuckled. "Well, you need the opportunity for that. As far as I know, Gabriel has no interest in answering your calls. I advise you to have some shame. Seducing a married man is always a despicable act."
" I won't make things difficult for you if you behave yourself. But if you persist in trying to ruin my marriage, I won't show mercy."
"Jessica, be clear about who you're accusing of seduction."
The word "seduction" infuriated Diana.
"Who seduced whom? You know it well."
With that, Jessica cut off the call, denying Diana any further chance to speak.
Just as she hung up, Gabriel appeared by her side.
Jessica handed him the phone and said, "I answered your call. If you care, you can call back and explain."
"No need."
Gabriel spoke without even reaching for his phone.
Then he sat down beside Jessica.
They rarely sat together in the living room, watching TV.
Jessica was watching a romantic drama, and Gabriel accompanied her.
Jessica enjoyed it, laughing heartily at the light-hearted comedy.
Gabriel sat quietly beside her, observing her radiant and beautiful smile.
At that moment, he felt a sense of peacefulness.
However, half an hour later, the tone of the show changed significantly.
It began as a light comedy and was quite humorous.
But after a crisis in which the main characters opened up to each other, they began displaying affection openly.
They alternated between hugging, gazing affectionately, and kissing.
The male, in particular, started employing seductive techniques at any time, which made Jessica blush and her heart race.
When the main characters kissed again, Jessica's face turned crimson.
Especially with Gabriel sitting beside her, she felt like a boiled shrimp, blushing from head to toe, embarrassed.
She regretted it.
She deeply regretted watching this show with Gabriel.
The problem was that she couldn't just change the channel. Because that would be too obvious.
Meanwhile, Gabriel sat upright, legs crossed, his gaze fixed on the TV screen, showing no intention of looking away.
Jessica sighed inwardly, realizing men and women were indeed different.
Or maybe she was just more bashful.
Did couples really need to constantly hug and kiss each other when in love?
She had never been in a romantic relationship herself.
She had heard that couples in the honeymoon phase couldn't bear to be apart. Maybe it was true.
As Jessica pondered these questions while watching Gabriel, he suddenly turned to her and asked, "Why are you staring at me?"
Jessica quickly responded, "I'm not."
"How come? You were clearly staring at me."
Jessica felt a bit helpless. Did he always have to be so straightforward?
At that moment, it was better for them to pretend not to notice each other, giving each other some face, wasn’t it?
Did he have to make her blush to the extreme?
"I..." Jessica glanced at the TV, trying to come up with a lame excuse "I just thought you looked a bit like the male lead on TV."
"Then you must have vision problems!" Gabriel retorted.
Jessica was about to agree. After all, the actor was a star, a popular heartthrob known for his looks, far more than Gabriel.
But then Gabriel's voice rang in her ears "He's average-looking. I'm much more handsome than him. I fail to see the resemblance between me and him."
Jessica was speechless.
‘Gabriel was too self-absorbed.’ She thought.
Deciding to ignore him, Jessica looked away, focusing on the TV.
But she regretted it instantly.
Was the TV deliberately targeting her today?
The pace of the romance between the main characters was too fast.
Weren't they just confessing their feelings moments ago?
How did they end up so affectionate, even exploring each other's bodies so soon?
The atmosphere between the main characters grew increasingly ambiguous, and Jessica felt her breath thinning and her body heating up.
When the female lead's clothes came off to reveal her smooth, fair shoulders, Jessica couldn't stay still.
Without a second thought, she stood up.
Suddenly, her wrist was grabbed.
Gabriel also stood up, and his deep eyes fixed on her. "Why are you getting up?"
"I... I..." Jessica licked her rosy lips and said, "I'm thirsty. I'll go get a drink."
Gabriel held her hand and guided her back to the sofa, saying, "You sit, I'll go."
"Okay!"
Jessica's mind was in disarray, and she responded absentmindedly.
She waited, not daring to look at the TV screen again.
Even without watching, the sound from the TV still reached her ears, making her blush even more.
Then her face was a bit less red.
But her ears, particularly the earlobes, were burning with a crimson hue.
Finally, Gabriel returned with a glass of water.
Before he could speak, Jessica took the glass and drank it all in one go.
Perhaps she drank too quickly. Some water spilled out, trickling down her chin and sliding gracefully down her slender and beautiful neck. Her skin was fair and tender, and the droplets falling in a sensual and elegant manner was captivating.
Gabriel watched as he felt a rush of heat through his body, his throat uncontrollably constricting.
Though he had been trying to maintain composure, at that moment, all his emotions peaked.
His eyes grew intense.
His heart grew fervent.
His body heated up even more.
Setting down the glass, Jessica finally took a breath and said, "Thank you!"
"Are you still thirsty?" Gabriel asked with deep eyes.
"I'm not thirsty anymore."
Upon hearing her response, Gabriel immediately took her hand, eagerly leading her upstairs.
