Chapter 341 Gently Relying on Each Other

After grabbing breakfast with Jessica, Gabriel rushed back to the Walton Group.

Jessica watched him leave, feeling a bit down. As soon as his car pulled away, her eyes welled up, but she held back the tears.

Three days went by.

In those three days, they only managed to video call twice on Facebook. Jessica knew he was swamped with work, so she didn't want to bug him.

That evening, after having dinner as usual, Jessica went for a walk with Tina. On the way back, she suddenly clutched her stomach and frowned.

"Jessica, what's wrong?" Tina noticed right away.

"Tina, my stomach hurts a bit," Jessica said, immediately feeling something wet below. A wave of panic hit her. "Tina, what should I do? I feel wet below, like I'm bleeding."

Tina stayed calm and grabbed Jessica's hand. "Jessica, take a deep breath. I'll call the doctor and find out what's going on."

A few minutes later, Tina hung up the phone and said, "I'll call the driver now. We're heading to the hospital."

"Okay."

Half an hour later, they were at the nearest hospital.

After an exam, the doctor said there were signs of a miscarriage, which made Jessica super anxious.

"Don't worry too much. The bleeding isn't severe right now. We'll give you a pregnancy-support injection. As long as we stop the bleeding in time, you should be fine."

"You need to relax. The instability of the fetus is related to your recent stress. Pregnant women need to stay in a good mood. The babies can feel your stress. Also, you need to get enough sleep and rest," the doctor said.

Jessica nodded. "Okay, doctor, thank you."

"Alright, let's get you admitted and give you the shot."

"Okay."

After getting admitted, Jessica quickly received the shot. Watching the IV drip, she felt a bit more at ease.

Tina looked at her, hesitated, and then said, "Jessica, you should tell Mr. Walton about this."

Jessica shook her head firmly. "No. If he knows I'm sick, he'll worry. He's already so busy, and I don't want to add to his stress. Besides, I believe my babies will be strong. They wouldn't leave me."

Seeing Jessica's positive attitude, Tina felt relieved. "Alright, I'll take care of you for the next few days."

"Thank you, Tina."

As night fell, Jessica started to doze off with the IV. Tina stayed by her side, planning to rest after the medication was done.

At midnight, as the last bit of medicine was about to finish, Tina pressed the call button to alert the nurse to remove the IV. When she got no response, she decided to head to the nurse's station.

Suddenly, the door opened. Gabriel stood there.

Tina was surprised. "Mr. Walton, what are you doing here?"

"The driver told me Jessica was sick, so I rushed over."

"Jessica didn't want you to worry, so she kept it from you. But now that you're here, stay with her. She really needs you right now," said Tina.

She hesitated a bit before continuing, "Actually, her morning sickness has been really bad. She's been throwing up almost everything she eats and hasn't been sleeping well. She's lost a lot of weight. But she didn't want you to worry, so she asked me not to tell you."

"It's okay, I get it. Thanks for letting me know."

Tina then called the nurse to remove the IV. Once it was done, Tina left with the nurse, leaving just Gabriel and Jessica in the room.

Gabriel looked at Jessica lying there, so small and pale, and his heart ached. "You silly girl, why did you hide all this from me?" he whispered, holding her hand.

In just a few days, he noticed her hand had gotten much thinner, her fingers more delicate. He brushed her hair aside and gently kissed her forehead. Then, exhausted, he fell asleep by her bed, still holding her hand.

Then, he fell asleep by her bed, holding her hand.

Maybe because of the IV, Jessica woke up around 2 a.m. Instinctively, she moved her fingers. When she felt her hand held by something warm, her heart skipped a beat.

Turning her head, she saw Gabriel asleep beside her. At that moment, she felt nothing but surprise and happiness.

"Gabriel," she called softly, her heart filled with warmth and eyes with tears. But her throat was too dry to make a sound. Realizing she was crying, Jessica tried to wipe her tears. But as soon as she moved her fingers, she remembered where her hand was and stopped.

Even this slight movement woke Gabriel. He lifted his head, his deep black eyes fixed on Jessica. Seeing her tears, his heart ached. "Are you feeling alright? Why are you crying?" he gently asked, as he wiped her tears.

Jessica felt a wave of tenderness and shook her head vigorously. "No, I just didn't expect you to be here."

"From now on, tell me about important things. Don't hide them from me. If I'm not with you when you need me most, I'll feel even more guilty."

"Okay." She nodded, then excitedly sat up and hugged Gabriel.

Gabriel held her tightly in his arms, gently placing his hand on Jessica's belly.

"Don't worry," Jessica said, " I'm strong, so the babies will be strong too. They won't leave us."

"Yes, I believe that too."

In the morning, the doctor came to check on Jessica. Gabriel was by her side, but then he got a call.

He initially refused to answer it, but the caller seemed urgent and kept calling.

Jessica urged him, "The doctor is here. Don't worry. Go take the call. It must be an emergency."

"Tell me what the doctor says later," Gabriel said, reluctantly stepping out to take the call.

"Okay, go ahead."

After Gabriel left, the doctor routinely asked, "How are you feeling? Did you bleed again yesterday?"

Jessica immediately grabbed the doctor's hand, anxious. "I'm still bleeding. My husband is very worried, but he has some work issues. Could you please not tell him about this for now? I'll tell him myself when I feel better."
