Chapter 249 Successfully Rescued, She Woke Up 1

Seeing Gabriel, Jessica blinked hard, almost thinking she was seeing things.

When she opened her eyes again, they were wet with tears, and even her lips were trembling.

She had thought she was done for.

She never expected to survive and see the world again.

It was a good thing; she wasn't dead.

But she was so tired.

"How is she?" Gabriel asked Loren.

"She's out of danger, but her body is very weak and will need careful nursing," Loren answered.

Hearing the words "out of danger", Gabriel finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'll carry her upstairs first." With that, Gabriel scooped Jessica up in his arms.

Jessica was truly exhausted. Her whole body was almost completely drained, and she was extremely weak. With her eyes closed, she leaned gently against his chest.

When they reached the second floor, he carried her directly to the bathroom and instructed to others, "Fill the tub with hot water immediately."

Her body was very cold, as if she had just come out of an ice cellar.

Her face was as pale as a sheet of paper, with no trace of color.

"Soak in the tub first. Once you're warm, I'll carry you out," Gabriel said.

She glanced at the steaming bathtub and nodded lightly.

She was indeed too cold and desperately needed warmth.

While the heating and air conditioning could raise the room's temperature, they couldn't warm her body.

At this moment, a hot bath was the quickest, most efficient, and warmest way.

Soon, he placed her into the bathtub.

As the hot water enveloped her from all sides, layer upon layer of warmth wrapped around her body and seeped into her skin. She finally felt a bit of warmth.

With the hot water, her body felt much more comfortable.

She closed her eyes, letting herself lie in the tub, her back resting against the edge.

Her long black hair, now wet from the hot water, hung loosely outside the tub, adding a touch of beauty and allure.

After soaking for about ten minutes, she finally felt her blood circulating and her body thoroughly warmed.

She gently opened her eyes, about to call out to Gabriel.

Suddenly, she realized he had been in the bathroom the whole time and hadn't left.

As Jessica thought about herself still in the tub, her face immediately showed a hint of panic. She quickly looked down at her attire.

Seeing her body clearly visible in the clear water of the tub, with nothing to cover it, she instantly panicked.

Especially her curvaceous, water-soaked, and sexy figure, which made her extremely shy.

Although she wasn't directly soaking in the tub, she was only wearing her underwear and a white long shirt.

Underwater, the long shirt not only failed to cover her but also accentuated her figure in a way she hadn't anticipated.

More importantly, the shirt became transparent, revealing the color of her underwear.

She quickly reached out, hurriedly covered herself, and looked at Gabriel. "Gabriel, I'm done bathing."

Hearing her voice, he immediately prepared to get up.

Seeing him about to stand, she panicked and quickly stopped him. "No, don't come over."

Given his height, if he stood up and approached the tub, he would see everything from above.

That would make her very shy.

He insisted on standing up, saying, "I'll carry you out."

She covered herself and said, "No, turn around."

Realizing something, he cooperated and quickly turned around to face away from her.

Only then did she speak, "I don't need you to carry me. If you really want to help, just walk out with your back to me. I'll come out after I change."

"Jessica," he gently reminded, "your body is very weak right now; you might not be able to dress yourself."

"No, I have the strength. I can do it," Jessica insisted. "You just need to turn your back and not come over."

"Okay," he nodded in agreement.

At this point, she used one hand to support the tub and the other to grab the edge, intending to get up and reach for a clean towel nearby to dry herself off.

But she hadn't expected her body to be so weak.

Not just her arms, but her entire body seemed to lack any strength.

As she grabbed the edge of the tub and tried to stand, her foot suddenly slipped, and she was so scared that her heart almost jumped out. Instinctively, she cried out, "Ah!"

Hearing her cry, Gabriel turned around without thinking and reached out to catch her.

She also instinctively grabbed his arm.

Once she was steady, she said, "Thank you!"

However, after speaking, she realized something was wrong with her attire.

With that slip, her white shirt had fallen into the water, meaning even that thin, transparent layer of cover was gone.

Her face turned red instantly. She quickly hugged herself and sat back in the tub, then picked up the long shirt to cover herself.

Although the long shirt was just a thin, transparent layer underwater and almost useless, she still felt more secure with it on.

"Gabriel," she stammered, "please go out and close the bathroom door. I'll come out after I'm done."

"No, your body hasn't recovered yet," he refused firmly without thinking.

Her body was still very weak, and the bathroom was full of water. If she accidentally slipped and got hurt, it would be very dangerous.

"But like this, I can't get up or dress," Jessica bit her lip.

She wasn't cold anymore.

The hot water had warmed her body, and with the room's heating, her face was now red and warm.

Gabriel, still with his back to her, spoke dominantly, "Alright, I'll carry you out of the tub, and you can dry off and change."

"No," Jessica refused, her face flushed.

Gabriel explained seriously, "I'll keep my eyes closed the whole time. I promise."

Jessica hesitated.

She was in a dilemma.

Gabriel continued, "Or I can turn around now and help you dress. Your choice."

Of course, she would choose the first option.

Jessica finally compromised. "Alright, you can carry me out, but you have to promise to keep your eyes tightly closed and not peek."
