Chapter 552 Miscarriage
"Celia has been crying and calling for you. You need to come quickly!"
Francis didn't expect such an accident to happen.
When he arrived at the hospital, Celia was in the operating room.
As soon as Alisha saw him, she burst into tears.
"Francis, you're finally here. Where have you been?"
"Do you know how many times I called you? After the accident, Celia kept calling for you, crying out for you, hoping you would be with her. But you never answered your phone."
"Tell me, did you go to see that woman?"
As Alisha spoke, she suddenly started crying and grabbed Francis's clothes.
Francis realized he had messed up and that he owed too much in this matter.
So, he just stood there without any resistance.
Seeing that he didn't resist, Alisha became even more aggressive.
She reached out and scratched Francis's face.
Soon, there were two bright red scratches on his handsome face, and blood quickly flowed down his cheeks.
Alisha didn't stop; she continued to cry and hit Francis.
"Francis, you heartless bastard, do you know that Celia saved you back then?"
"If it weren't for Celia staying with you day and night, taking care of you, you would have died. You're not just ungrateful; you repay us with betrayal.
"If anything happens to Celia, I will get back to you."
Finally, Theron couldn't stand it anymore and went up to hold Alisha.
"Calm down. I know you're very angry, but the most important thing now is Celia and her baby."
"Dr. Daniels is in there trying to save Celia and her baby. They need a quiet environment. Your crying and hitting are not helping."
Maybe those words worked, as Alisha let go of Francis and calmed down a lot.
What followed was a long wait.
Francis leaned against the wall.
He was very scared.
His heart kept sinking.
He was not only afraid of the innocent baby's death but also feared that if something happened to Celia, he and Jessica would have no future together.
No matter how heartless he was, he couldn't live the rest of his life with Jessica while carrying the guilt of Celia's life.
'So Celia, please, you have to wake up.'
Maybe his prayers were heard by God.
Ten minutes later, the light in the operating room went out.
Alisha was the first to rush up. "Dr. Daniels, how is my daughter?"
"The patient is not in any life-threatening condition, but her body is very weak. She will need some time to recover before she can be discharged."
Hearing this, Alisha breathed a sigh of relief.
Then, Theron asked, "What about her baby?"
Dr. Cathy Daniels looked at them apologetically. "I'm sorry, the baby had no vital signs when brought in. We did our best."
Francis felt a sharp pain in his chest.
The next moment, Alisha ran over frantically. "Francis, it's all your fault."
"If you hadn't gone to be with that woman, Celia wouldn't have fallen, and my grandchild wouldn't have died."
"Francis, remember this, you will never be able to make it up to Celia."
After venting, Theron and Alisha pushed Celia back to the ward.
Francis followed from a distance, as Alisha wouldn't let him get close.
Around dinner time, Francis's phone rang. It was Jessica calling.
"Francis, I had someone make a lot of your favorite dishes. Will you come over for dinner?" Jessica asked gently and expectantly.
But he couldn't agree.
With a heavy heart, Francis responded softly.
"You eat first. I won't be coming over today."
"Alright then, come over when you've handled everything. It's okay, I'll wait for you."
After hanging up, Jessica looked at the table full of delicious food, feeling particularly happy.
But at that moment, Jessica had no idea what had happened with Celia.
Otherwise, Jessica wouldn't have been able to stay calm.
Celia woke up in the middle of the night.
As soon as Celia opened her eyes, Alisha rushed over with concern. "Celia, you're awake. You freaked me out, do you know that?"
Celia looked at the crying Alisha, then at the blinding white light above, feeling very confused.
"Mom, what happened to me? Where am I now?"
"You fell at home, and I brought you to the hospital. Don't you remember?"
As soon as Alisha spoke, Celia immediately remembered.
Suddenly, she panicked and touched her belly, anxiously asking, "Mom, what about my baby? Is the baby okay?"
Hearing this, Theron fell silent, and Alisha quietly wiped her tears.
Celia was smart and immediately sensed something was wrong.
Celia's lips trembled as she spoke with disbelief and difficulty, "Mom, what's going on? Tell me my baby is fine, that he's still in my belly, right?"
"Mom, say something. Please, tell me my baby is okay."
Celia shouted frantically.
But no matter how much Celia asked, there was no response.
Finally, exhausted from asking, Celia sat on the bed in despair, looking up at the ceiling with tears streaming down her face.
"Mom, why?"
"Why did this happen?"
As she spoke, she closed her eyes, and tears of pain rolled down her cheeks.
Seeing her in such pain, Alisha felt equally distressed.
But there was nothing she could do except hold Celia's hand and silently cry with her.
"Celia, don't cry. Listen to me, you need to take care of your health. You're young, and you will have another baby in the future, okay?"
Celia, however, looked at the ceiling and shook her head lifelessly.
"Mom, you don't understand. We won't have another baby."
"Don't say that. There will be many opportunities in the future. You will get pregnant again."
"But Mom..." Celia started crying bitterly, "You don't know. Ever since he woke up, he hasn't been with me. He doesn't even want to touch me. How can I get pregnant?"
"What?"
Alisha was shocked and looked at Celia in disbelief.
"Celia, are you telling the truth?"
"Yes, it's the absolute truth."
Alisha was surprised. Celia was beautiful and had a great figure. How could any man resist her?
"Don't overthink it. Maybe he's just being considerate because you're pregnant. Once you get married, you will have another baby."
Celia forced a bitter smile. "Mom, do you think Francis and I can get married?"
"Why not? He put you in danger and caused the baby to die. He must take responsibility. Francis has to marry you, whether he wants to or not."
