Chapter 635 Grace, Shall We Have a Daughter Too
Stella seemed to understand what was being said.
Suddenly, Stella opened her rosy little lips and started laughing happily.
That smile radiated warmth, lighting up the world.
Quentin couldn't help but smile faintly, "Good girl, you look so beautiful when you smile. You'll grow up to be a stunning beauty."
Stella laughed even more joyfully.
That smile, pure and radiant, was like the warm sun in winter, warming one's heart.
Quentin looked at her with an incredibly tender gaze.
When Gabriel returned with Jessica and Grace, Quentin was holding Stella with focused attention.
Compared to his previous stiff posture, Quentin now held her with a relaxed confidence. So, when Gabriel reached out to take Stella back, Quentin was reluctant.
"Wait a bit, let me hold her a little longer."
Quentin held her for another half hour.
Before leaving, Quentin praised, "Stella is so adorable, so well-behaved and beautiful."
Gabriel beamed with pride, "Of course, she's my daughter."
On the way back, since Quentin didn't bring a driver, he drove himself.
Grace opened the back door.
But before she could get in, Quentin's voice came, "You sit in the front passenger seat, next to me."
"It's more comfortable in the back," Grace replied.
Quentin tapped his fingers rhythmically on the steering wheel, "Grace, I like you close to me."
"Sit yourself, or should I carry you? Your choice."
Grace's fingers tightened around the back door handle.
After a few seconds of hesitation.
Finally, she took a deep breath, and let go of the handle.
Then Grace opened the front door and sat in the passenger seat.
On the way, Grace maintained a profound silence.
Quentin had a lot to say to her, but when he turned to look, Grace had already fallen asleep in the passenger seat.
When Grace woke up, it was dark.
She reached out and felt something soft and comfortable beneath her.
Looking closely, she saw the bedside lamp.
She was in the bedroom.
There was only one possibility: Quentin had carried her in.
Shortly after she woke up, the door opened.
Quentin walked in.
"Did you sleep well? Still tired?" His voice was very gentle.
Grace, still feeling grumpy from her lack of sleep, didn't respond right away.
"If you didn't sleep well, you can rest a bit more. Dinner is ready whenever you wake up."
Grace shook her head and got out of bed, "No, I slept too long, I won't be able to sleep tonight."
"Are you hungry?" he asked.
"A little."
When they went downstairs, dinner was already prepared.
The food was plentiful.
Almost all the dishes she used to like.
Unfortunately, he wouldn't know that her tastes had changed over the years.
Quentin served her some beef, but Grace only took a small bite before putting it aside.
"Is it not good?" he asked with a frown.
Quentin immediately called for the chef.
His expression suggested he was on the verge of scolding someone.Grace quickly stopped him, "No, it tastes great, as always."
She lowered her eyes and said softly, "It's just that my tastes have changed, it has nothing to do with the chef."
"What do you like now?" he probed.
"Sour and sweet foods!"
Quentin's gaze fell on the shrimp, "You don't like shrimp anymore?"
Grace replied, "I do, but peeling them is too much trouble, so I just don't eat them."
Just then, her phone rang.
It was a call from the director's team, congratulating her on being accepted.
However, she was accepted for the third female lead, not the second.
Although it was far from what she had imagined, Grace was still very happy and felt satisfied.
"Thank you, Mr. Caudill!"
"Thank you so much. Rest assured, I will fully commit to the script and act well."
Afraid Quentin would hear, Grace lowered her voice.
When Grace returned to the table.
She was surprised by what she saw.
Next to her bowl was a plate full of peeled shrimp.
Each shrimp was wrapped in a light pink coating, looking very appetizing.
The plate was almost overflowing with shrimp, it was quite a sight.
Grace was stunned.
"Eat up, didn't you say you don't like peeling them yourself?" Quentin said.
Grace looked at him. He sat straight in his chair, not looking like someone who would peel shrimp for her.
But the pile of shrimp shells in front of him clearly showed that he had peeled them himself.
Lowering her head, Grace picked up a shrimp and put it in her mouth.
She chewed slowly.
After finishing one shrimp, she looked at Quentin with clear eyes. "You didn't have to do it yourself."
"With your status, you could have just asked a servant to do it."
Quentin stopped peeling abruptly, "Grace, do you really not get it, or are you just playing dumb? I just want to peel shrimp for you."
"But to me, peeling shrimp is just peeling shrimp, it doesn't matter who does it."
When love was passionate, peeling shrimp became a testament to that love, a small act that strengthened the bond between two people.
But without love, it was just shrimp; anyone could peel them, and the act lost its significance.
Quentin threw down the shrimp and walked away with a cold expression.
Grace thought he was angry and felt relieved.
But when she came out of the bathroom after her evening shower, Quentin was already waiting.
"What are you doing here?" Grace instinctively hugged herself and tightened her nightgown.
Quentin, as if drunk, approached her step by step.
As he got closer, Grace's heart pounded.
Just when she thought Quentin wouldn't let her go, he walked straight into the bathroom.
Grace hugged herself and took a deep breath.
Soon, the sound of running water came from the bathroom.
Through the frosted glass, his tall figure was vaguely visible.
Grace didn't dare think too much. She got into bed and covered herself with the blanket.
A few minutes later, she heard the water stop.
The next moment, his footsteps approached the bed.
Suddenly, Quentin's strong arms pulled her into his embrace, holding her tightly from behind.
"Grace," his voice was deep and sexy, "you said once you recovered, we could make love. How about tonight? I can't wait any longer."
"Today I saw Stella. She's so cute, like a little angel."
"Grace, I'm so envious. Shall we have a daughter too?"
