Chapter 182 He's back?
If it failed, what would happen next?
Honestly, Jessica hadn't really thought about it before. But now, she had an answer.
If it failed, she would leave this place and Gabriel for good, , and never come back to this heartbreaking place.
Still, she hoped her dreams would come true, wishing for a happy ending.
"Perhaps one day, I'll still find myself wondering, still comparing my spot in his heart to Diana's. But right now, I don't want to think about it."
"Didn't Diana go abroad? Grace, do you think I'm selfish? I kinda hope she never comes back."
Jessica felt a pang of bitterness after saying that.
Grace hugged her gently. "You're not selfish. No one wants their feelings messed with, and no woman wants to share her man. You can't, and neither can I."
Jessica thought Grace and Quentin were having issues and asked, "How are you and Quentin doing?"
"Not bad!"
Ignoring family stuff, things were actually good. But with those family issues, it was a different story. Like Jessica, Grace didn't want to dwell on it until she had to.
Since Grace was back, Jessica stayed with her. On weekends, they'd hang out at home, chat, watch TV, and have a great time.
Gabriel had some urgent business, so they hadn't seen each other for days.
Come Monday, Jessica had just finished work and was taking off her lab coat when she heard some chatter, "So handsome."
"Yeah, haven't seen a guy that good-looking for a long time. Wonder who he's waiting for. I'm so jealous."
Jessica didn't pay much attention. But as she walked out, she froze when she saw the figure in front of her.
That back?
She knew she wasn't mistaken. It was him. He was back.
Jessica quickened her pace. Gabriel turned around.
Seeing her, he smiled and said softly, "Don't move, I'll come to you."
Jessica stood there, like an obedient child, watching Gabriel run towards her.
The next moment, he hugged her tightly.
Though it hadn't been long since they last saw each other, it felt like a long-awaited reunion.
Jessica hugged him back, breathing in his familiar scent, feeling an overwhelming sense of security and longing.
She thought about it. It had only been two days. Forty-eight hours, yet it felt like an eternity.
They held each other tightly, breathing in each other's presence.
After a while, Gabriel asked, "Where's the break room?"
"Just ahead, not far."
"Take me there."
"Okay."
Jessica assumed he was tired from the trip and needed rest. But as soon as they reached the break room, he closed the door.
The next moment, Jessica's back was against the door, Gabriel's tall frame looming over her, and he started kissing her.
Jessica was stunned, about to speak, but Gabriel took the chance to kiss her even deeper.
Maybe it was because they hadn't seen each other for two days, Jessica felt Gabriel was even more intense.
His hands were strong, almost like he wanted to meld her into him.
Gabriel was like a storm, giving Jessica no chance to catch her breath.
Noticing she was distracted, Gabriel lightly bit her lip, a bit displeased.
Jessica cried out in pain, her moist eyes looking at him in confusion. "Why did you bite me?"
"You deserved it," Gabriel said, pressing his forehead against hers. "You were distracted."
With that, his kisses fell again, almost consuming her.
The atmosphere between them heated up.
Jessica had to admit, she missed him like crazy.
She missed everything about him—his scent, his taste, his kisses, everything.
Under his onslaught, Jessica gradually let go of her shyness, becoming soft, standing on tiptoe, wanting to press herself closer to him.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
Jessica's heart skipped a beat.
She was terrified, immediately pushing Gabriel away, holding her breath, waiting for any movement outside, almost not daring to breathe.
The knocking continued, and she was extremely anxious, not knowing whether to open it or not.
At this moment, Gabriel's hand was on the handle, ready to open it.
Jessica looked up at him and whispered, "Are you going to open the door?"
"Don't you want to?" Gabriel asked back.
Jessica nodded, worried about how to explain if they were caught.
Gabriel could see her thoughts and immediately pointed to his lips, asking for a kiss.
Jessica smiled, suspecting Gabriel was doing it on purpose, just to get a kiss.
She turned her head, deliberately turning away, not letting him get his wish.
Gabriel wasn't angry. He reached out, his slender fingers sneaking into Jessica's clothes, tickling her waist.
Jessica was very ticklish, and he knew it.
Sure enough, Jessica couldn't stand it for long, but thinking there were people outside, she could only grit her teeth, not making a sound.
Gabriel didn't stop; he became more aggressive, tickling her even more.
Jessica finally couldn't take it, standing on tiptoe to kiss him.
Just then, a voice came from outside. "Wrong room, not this one."
Soon, Jessica heard footsteps, and the person outside left.
Instantly, Jessica breathed a sigh of relief.
Gabriel, however, was unhappy that he lost his kiss, his mood naturally sour.
Jessica laughed happily, deliberately leaning in. "Gabriel, are you mad?"
"No, just a bit unlucky." Gabriel said.
Jessica's smile deepened, her smile charming and captivating.
Taking advantage of Gabriel's distraction, Jessica suddenly stood on tiptoe and quickly kissed his lips.
Very lightly, just like a peck.
After kissing, Jessica wanted to leave, but Gabriel quickly grabbed her and pulled her into his arms.
"Teasing me?"
His voice was sexy, and those simple words sounded especially alluring.
"Can you handle being teased?"
"No one else has a chance, but I can't handle yours." Gabriel said, suddenly holding Jessica's face, his eyes extremely serious. "Jessica."
"Yes?"
"Two days without seeing me, did you miss me?"
His eyes were so gentle, his voice so deep, asking in a way that was incredibly sexy.
