Chapter 604 The Wealthy Grandfather
Alfonso eagerly nodded with excitement.
He asked, "Can I go and hold her?"
Jessica immediately responded, "Of course, Dad. You're her grandpa. I'll take you to see her."
Hearing this, Alfonso felt both excited and expectant.
He had thought his later years would be lonely and uneventful.
But now, he not only discovered he had a daughter but also two smart grandsons and a lovely granddaughter.
When they came out, Gabriel walked up and called out, "Dad!"
This time, Alfonso looked at Gabriel with the scrutinizing eyes of a father-in-law, examining him carefully. He nodded in satisfaction.
But Alfonso also spoke seriously, "Remember, Jessica has a father now. If she ever gets mistreated, I'll hold you accountable."
Gabriel nodded repeatedly, "Alright, I would never dare to mistreat Jessica."
With that, Gabriel took Jessica's hand.
Seeing Gabriel and Jessica holding hands tightly, Alfonso smiled with relief.
When they reached the nursery, Alfonso was visibly nervous.
When Alfonso saw the pink, tender baby lying in the crib, his breathing softened, as if afraid of startling Stella.
Stella was sleeping, and even with her eyes closed, her soft and adorable appearance was enough to melt anyone's heart.
"She's so tiny!" Alfonso couldn't help but exclaim.
Jessica walked over with a smile, "Dad, didn't you want to hold Stella?"
Alfonso changed his mind and quickly shook his hand, "No, she's too small. I'm afraid I won't hold her properly."
"It'll be fine, Dad. She's small and delicate, but as long as you're careful, it's okay. Gabriel didn't know how to hold her at first either, but now he's very good at it."
Alfonso looked over for confirmation, "Really?"
Gabriel nodded, "Dad, I was nervous the first time too. I was very worried, but after holding her a few times, I got the hang of it. If you like, you can come over every day."
These words greatly encouraged Alfonso.
Alfonso reached out his hands, full of anticipation, "Let me try."
Jessica bent down and picked Stella up from the crib.
Alfonso had already positioned his hands, ready to receive her.
Seeing Alfonso holding his breath with a serious expression, Jessica smiled and reassured him, "Dad, you don't need to be so tense. You can relax your arms a bit."
"Okay."
When Jessica placed Stella in Alfonso's arms, his heart started to race.
This soft little life filled him with joy.
Alfonso lowered his head, staring at Stella without blinking.
Suddenly, Alfonso exclaimed with joy, "She's awake, Stella is awake."
Perhaps hearing the sound, Stella opened her eyes wider.
Stella, curious, looked around with her big eyes, making her even more adorable.
At first, Alfonso's posture was a bit stiff, but he gradually relaxed and got the hang of it.
He held her for almost an hour, unable to let her go.
Gabriel felt a bit jealous, "You're taking over my job."
Jessica playfully punched him, "Jealous of Stella already? Then I should be jealous too."
At noon, Jessica and Gabriel invited Alfonso to stay for lunch.
But Alfonso said he had other things to do and would come back in the evening when Gilbert and Freddy returned from kindergarten.
Jessica didn't insist and saw Alfonso off.
In the evening, as soon as Gilbert and Freddy got home, they saw Alfonso sitting there.
Gilbert and Freddy curiously walked over, "Mr. Harvey, are you visiting our home today?"
Jessica walked over, took Gilbert and Freddy's little hands, and led them to Alfonso, "Gilbert, Freddy, I want to formally introduce you. This is my dad, your grandpa."
"Grandpa?" Gilbert and Freddy were a bit puzzled.
Jessica gently touched their heads and explained seriously, "Yes, due to some reasons, I was separated from your grandpa for over twenty years. Now, we've finally reunited. I'm very happy, and so is your grandpa. How about you?"
Gilbert and Freddy tilted their heads, thinking.
Gilbert suddenly said, "Mommy, I'm very happy, but I'm even happier that you have your dad now."
Freddy looked at Alfonso, "Will you be good to Mommy?"
"Of course," Alfonso nodded.
"Will you be good to Stella?"
"I will be very good to your mommy, to you, and Stella. From now on, you are all the most important people to me. I will do my best to protect you."
At that moment, Gilbert and Freddy ran over and hugged Alfonso.
Holding Gilbert and Freddy in his arms, Alfonso felt incredibly satisfied.
'Giselle, did you see? I've found our daughter.'
'If you can see this from heaven, you must be very happy. Don't worry, I will take good care of them.' He thought.
In the evening, Alfonso had dinner with them.
Before dinner, someone suddenly delivered a folder.
"Mr. Harvey, here's what you requested."
"Thank you."
Alfonso picked it up, quickly browsed through it, and then signed his name.
There were four documents in total.
One for Freddy, one for Gilbert.
Two for Jessica.
After arranging them, Alfonso slowly said, "Jessica, this is a small gift for you. I know you don't lack money, and Gabriel takes good care of you, but I still want to give you the best I can."
"You have two copies, one for you and one for Stella."
Jessica's eyes welled up with emotion.
On the first day of their reunion, Alfonso transferred such a large amount of property to her and the children, which was truly unexpected.
"Dad, you haven't even done a DNA test with me. Aren't you afraid of making a mistake?"
Alfonso smiled confidently, "No need for a test. I trust Giselle, and I trust you."
After dinner, Gabriel went to take care of Stella.
Jessica stayed to chat with Alfonso.
"Dad, back then, did you leave Mom because you had a mission and were afraid of implicating her?"
Talking about the past, Alfonso was very emotional.
He sighed deeply and nodded, "The mission was dangerous back then. I was afraid that if I got exposed, they would use your mom's life as leverage. I couldn't take that risk, so I had to break up with her."
"I remember, when we broke up, your mom cried a lot. She kept asking me why, but I couldn't say anything. She looked for me many times, but I avoided her every time. Eventually, she gave up and never appeared again."
"At that time, I didn't know she was already pregnant."
Saying this, Alfonso looked guilty, "I wronged your mom. I failed her in this life."
"And later? After you changed your name, did you ever think of looking for her?"
