Chapter 108 Gabriel, You Mustn't Go
"I'll be there right away."
Gabriel, with a cold expression, hung up the phone.
At that moment, Jessica, driven by an unknown courage, suddenly rushed in front of Gabriel, extending her arms like an angry cat to block him.
"Jessica, what are you doing?"
"Don't go," Jessica said, lifting her head and looking at him stubbornly.
Gabriel's face grew colder, and his voice was resolute. "Move aside."
"I said, you mustn't go."
"Gabriel, you are my husband. We are married. I won't stand by while you abandon me to meet the mistress who is tearing our marriage apart"
The word "mistress" was finally spoken by Jessica with a firm tone.
Before, no matter how angry or furious she was, she had never called Diana as mistress in front of Gabriel.
But this time, she didn't care anymore.
Whatever anger she had in her heart, she could finally express it without any reservations or burdens.
"Jessica, when did you become so sharp-tongued?"
Jessica responded with a smile, "I've always been sharp, like a hedgehog covered in spikes. Mr. Walton, you should know that."
She had never been a kind person. Otherwise, she wouldn't have survived her childhood in such harsh environment.
She had only become so gentle and obedient because she loved him!
But what about him? He took everything for granted.
For him, she had removed all her spikes, leaving only a soft body and a tender heart. But he brought her no protection, no armor, only severe harm.
Every time, it struck directly at her heart.
Jessica had never been one to make unreasonable scenes, but at this moment, she insisted on fighting for herself.
"I always thought you were a gentle and smart girl, Jessica. I hope you don't overturn my perception."
"Then you are absolutely wrong. I am neither gentle nor sensible. I am a malicious shrew."
Hearing her describe herself this way made Gabriel's heart ache, causing him great discomfort.
"Don't belittle yourself like that."
"Gabriel, have you forgotten? You were the one who said I was malicious."
The phone rang again, and Gabriel felt uneasy.
Gabriel had lost all patience. He reached out, grabbed Jessica, and pulled her aside.
Just as he was about to step out the door, a loud noise came from behind him, as if something had fallen out of the window.
"Jessica!"
He turned around, shouting loudly.
When he saw no one by the window, his heart nearly stopped.
"Jessica!"
He ran to the window, frantically looking down.
When he saw that it was just a vase that had fallen, he let out a sigh of relief, breathing heavily.
But Jessica was nowhere to be seen.
Gabriel immediately picked up his phone and made a call. "Send a few people over, two women."
Jessica walked out of the bathroom, looking at him in disbelief. "What do you mean? Are you going to imprison me?"
"It's not imprisonment, just sending someone to watch over you, to prevent you from doing anything foolish," Gabriel said.
"I won't do anything foolish. Since you're so eager to go, just go. Don't worry. I won't stop you anymore."
After saying this, the light in Jessica's eyes immediately dimmed.
Her light, the light she had been desperately chasing, was gradually dimming, and one day, it would no longer shine.
It wasn't until several bodyguards arrived that Gabriel, after giving his instructions, finally left.
Jessica had heard everything he said.
It was quite simple that he wanted them to follow her every moment.
Four male bodyguards stood outside the door, while two female bodyguards stayed in the room with her.
Whether she was eating or sleeping, the bodyguards had to stay with her, not allowed to leave her side.
Jessica's pale face managed a smile. She wanted to say it was unnecessary because she had nowhere to go.
Ever since her mother passed away, she had no home.
When Gabriel arrived at the hospital, Diana was still on the rooftop. Her long hair was disheveled, and she was almost in a state of madness.
She sat in a wheelchair, pushing it forward bit by bit, slowly moving ahead.
The wheelchair was heading towards the edge of the rooftop, only ten inches away from falling off.
Gabriel watched with his heart in his throat.
Sarah, crying, cooperated with the act, "Diana, come down. Please come down. It's too dangerous."
"I don't want to come down. Sarah, do you know? I can't take it anymore."
"Diana, things will be resolved. Come down first, and we'll figure it out together, okay? Gabriel is here too. He will help you. He won't abandon you."
"No." Suddenly, Diana screamed in madness, "He won't care about me anymore."
"Gabriel only has eyes and heart for Jessica now. He has long since cast me aside. My existence, be it life or death, means nothing to him. Sarah, do you know how heartbroken I am? I love him so much, but he doesn't care about me at all."
"But..." Diana cried, "You don't have to pity me. It's all my fault. I was the one who willfully broke up with him. If we hadn't broken up, I would be the happiest woman in the world."
"I shouldn't have broken up with him. I regret it. Do you know how much I regret it? I wish I could go back to when we were still in love." Diana's acting skills were superb.
Especially the way she cried and she spoke those words, it made Gabriel feel particularly sad.
"Diana," Gabriel finally spoke, "I'm here. I haven't given up on you, and I still cared about you."
"Come over here. I promise I will help you resolve this matter."
"Gabriel!" Diana called out to him excitedly, "Why did you come? I thought you wouldn't come. You still care about me and you still love me, don't you?"
Diana's tears turned into a smile as she pushed the wheelchair, inching towards Gabriel.
Just as Diana was about to get close, Gabriel grabbed her wheelchair and lifted her, carrying her straight into the hospital room.
As they entered the room, Diana noticed a row of people standing outside, all dressed in black suits, tall and imposing. It seemed they were there to prevent her from running out again.
After placing Diana on the hospital bed, Gabriel turned to Sarah. "Go get the doctor."
"Okay, Gabriel. I'll go right away."
After the examination, the doctor said there was no major issue.
Gabriel breathed a sigh of relief.
"Get some rest."
Diana thought she had won a beautiful victory. However, she never dreamed that Gabriel would leave right after saying those words.
