Chapter 81 She Was the Excessive One

"Where are you?" Gabriel shouted loudly.

Diana's lips curled into a triumphant smile. She chuckled, didn't respond further, and simply hung up the phone.

Gabriel grabbed his phone and was about to leave, but thinking of Jessica, he returned to the room.

A few minutes later, Jessica emerged from the bathroom.

Seeing her, Gabriel immediately handed her the clothes in his hand. "Go change your clothes."

"I'm about to go to sleep. Why do I need to change into this outfit?" Jessica naturally asked.

"Please change first. There's an urgent matter. We need to go out for a while."

Once they were in the car, Gabriel spoke up, "Jessica, I have to tell you the truth. Diana might be in trouble."

"I understand. You don't want me to have any contact with her again. I don't want to lie to you. I truly can't abandon her."

"Since her leg injury, the Bush family hasn't really cared for her. If I abandon her again, she might not survive. Moreover, her condition just now was very strange. I must go."

Gabriel held Jessica's hand in his palm. "Jessica, I don't want to deceive you, so will you accompany me?"

Jessica's face was hidden in the dim corner of the car, making it hard for Gabriel to discern her expression.

Suddenly, her voice came, "What if I don't want to go?"

"If you really don't want to go, then..."

Before Gabriel could finish his sentence, Jessica reached out and covered his mouth, shaking her head. "Don't say it. I don't want to hear it. I don't want to know your answer."

Yes, she was afraid.

Call her a coward or call her weak.

After all this time, they had finally developed a bit of warmth between them, and she didn't want this incident to lead their relationship back into a deadlock, reaching a freezing point.

At this moment, the answer didn't matter anymore.

Jessica only knew that she didn't want to push him toward Diana, so she was willing to go with him.

"I'll go," she said.

Gabriel hugged her tightly, his voice almost trembling. "Thank you, Jessica."

"Thank you for your tolerance and understanding."

In reality, Jessica wanted to say, "No need to thank me."

"I'm not tolerant at all. I'm possessive when it comes to the one I love, possessive to the point where I don't want to share you with any other woman."

"I promise, it's not out of tolerance, it's out of love, out of fear of losing you."

They soon arrived at Diana's location.

For some reason, as they entered the restaurant, Jessica had a very bad premonition.

At the entrance to the private room, the door was tightly closed.

Gabriel pushed the door open and walked in. Upon entering, he saw Diana lying on the ground, struggling in pain, groaning.

The wheelchair had overturned, and she had fallen to the ground, her hair disheveled and spread out on the floor. She was trying hard to reach out, attempting to get up, but to no avail.

Under her body was a pool of bright red blood.

It seemed like she had been stabbed in the stomach, the knife already pulled out and lying on the side, with fresh red blood drops still visible.

There was a large bloody hole in her stomach, with hot red blood flowing out.

Flowing frantically.

The room was filled with a strong smell of blood.

Jessica watched, feeling horrified.

Before she could speak, Gabriel let go of her hand and rushed to Diana.

"Diana, what happened? Why are you bleeding so much?"

Gabriel anxiously inquired while embracing Diana.

"Call for an ambulance quickly," he looked at Jessica, instructing loudly.

Shocked by the scene before her, Jessica stood still, her mind blank. She had imagined many scenarios, but never this.

For a moment, she was completely stunned.

Seeing her standing still, Gabriel suddenly shouted, "What are you waiting for? Call the ambulance!"

"I..." Jessica looked at Gabriel, her heart constricted.

But she quickly replied, "I'll call right away."

After making the emergency call, Jessica lowered her hand, staring blankly at everything in front of her.

Gabriel held Diana tightly as if holding his dearest lover, speaking to her tenderly beyond belief.

One hand held Diana's hand, the other cupped her face, gently caressing it.

Watching this, Jessica couldn't help but smile wryly.

That smile, pale and desolate.

At this moment, they were a couple, and she was just a stranger, a bystander.

Gabriel's gaze was solely on Diana, not even sparing a glance at her. In his eyes, only Diana existed, perhaps he had long forgotten about her.

As for just now, in his eyes, she was merely someone who could help dial the emergency number, nothing more.

Watching them, how deep their love was, how tender and affectionate;

She even saw Diana, in pain and groaning, casting a smug, provocative look toward her.

Saying she didn't care was false.

Saying she wasn't upset was false.

But could she go and snatch Gabriel back?

A ridiculous thought suddenly flashed through Jessica's mind. She even thought, what if the injured person wasn't Diana, but her?

If she were the one severely injured, would Gabriel be as gentle and fearful as he was now?

Would he?

She didn't know.

"Gabriel, you... you finally came. Do you know? I thought I would never see you again."

"I'm sorry, Gabriel, I made you sad." Diana struggled to reach out and touch Gabriel's face.

However, just as her hand was about to touch him, she suddenly let it drop heavily.

Gabriel immediately grabbed her hand and placed it on his face. "Silly, don't say that. I'm here, you'll be fine."

"Really? Gabriel, do you think I will..."

Before Diana could finish her sentence, Gabriel sternly interrupted, "Diana, I forbid you to say that word."

At that moment, the ambulance arrived.

Gabriel immediately picked up Diana and rushed outside.

Jessica's heart was empty, completely unaware that she was standing at the doorway.

As Gabriel rushed past her, he saw her blocking the way and immediately shouted, "Move, quickly move aside."

Jessica awkwardly stepped aside, watching Gabriel carry Diana out.

Of course, he wouldn't know that his speed was too fast, causing him to bump into her and knock her to the ground, her knee hitting the corner of the table.

Instantly, a piercing pain spread through her limbs.

How could it not hurt when her knee hit the hard, sharp corner?

Her knee quickly turned purple, blood flowing out.

As she looked up, she suddenly saw Gabriel.

He was holding Diana, halted his steps, and his gaze met hers.

Jessica also looked at him, despite the pain, there was a hint of anticipation in her heart.

She wanted to see if he would stop for her.

Would he?
