Chapter 312 Explain Clearly?
Jack asked, "What kind of help do you need?"
"Help me explain this to my boyfriend. I don't want him to get the wrong idea," Jessica said, looking serious.
Jack replied, "If you were still working at our hospital, I could back you up as your boss."
Hearing this, Jessica lit up. She quickly grabbed her resignation letter from the desk, tore it up, and tossed it in the trash.
Then she looked at Jack and said, "I'll have him come over. Let's meet at the café downstairs in half an hour."
"Alright," Jack replied.
Jessica immediately called Gabriel.
On the other end, Gabriel saw Jessica's call and thought he was imagining things.
Without a second thought, he answered the phone.
That deep, raspy voice came through the phone to Jessica's ears, "Jessica, is that you? Where are you? Tell me, and I'll come get you and take you home, okay?"
Hearing his voice, Jessica burst into tears.
His voice was so hoarse, so dry.
He must have been frantically looking for her all day!
Just hearing his voice made her cry before she could even speak.
Hearing no response, Gabriel became even more worried, saying, "Silly girl, don't cry. Are you crying again? Okay, if you don't want to see me, I can stay away for now. But at least tell me if you're safe. Let me know you're okay, alright?"
His voice was as gentle as ever.
The more Jessica listened, the more upset she felt.
She covered her mouth, trying not to cry out loud.
After a while, she calmed herself down and said, "Gabriel, it's me. I'm fine now, and you don't need to worry. I want to go home. I'm at the hospital café. Can you come get me?"
"Okay, stay right there. I'll be there soon."
With that, Gabriel rushed out the door and drove to the hospital.
At the café, Gabriel immediately spotted Jessica.
She was wearing a white coat, sitting quietly in a corner of the café, looking out the window with a calm gaze.
Seeing her, Gabriel held his breath, as if she were a delicate butterfly that might fly away if he wasn't careful.
"Jessica."
As he spoke, he had already wrapped his arms tightly around Jessica from behind.
"Gabriel, you're here?" Seeing him, Jessica's lips curved into a gentle smile.
He held her so tightly that she could hardly breathe, so Jessica gently pushed him, saying, "Can you let go of me a little?"
"No." To her surprise, Gabriel shook his head and refused, "Jessica, I will never let go of your hand again. Never. Last time, I was wrong. I shouldn't have let you calm down alone for a night, and I shouldn't have let you face it alone. I want to be with you. No matter what you say this time, I won't leave you alone."
Perhaps because of what happened last time, Gabriel could be described as stubborn and cautious this time.
Jessica buried her head in his chest and hugged him back, saying, "Gabriel, thank you. Thank you for the messages you sent me. I saw them all."
"But..." She looked up, her slender fingers gently stroking Gabriel's handsome brows, and said seriously, "Now, please listen carefully. I want to tell you that I am still yours, only yours. I am yours alone, from beginning to end. Nothing happened between me and that person."
Gabriel caressed her cheek and couldn't hold back any longer, lowering his head and kissing Jessica deeply.
Since they were in a café, Gabriel, despite his reluctance, restrained himself and only gave her a light kiss.
At that moment, Jack walked in and saw the two of them embracing passionately, full of love.
"Jessica, let's go home."
Gabriel reached out and took Jessica's hand. He couldn't wait to leave.
Jessica saw Jack and held Gabriel's hand, saying, "I called him here, Gabriel. Whether you believe me or not, I want to explain this to you because I don't want this to leave any shadow or barrier between us. I want to be completely open with you."
Only by explaining it clearly could she feel at ease.
"No need, I believe you." Gabriel lifted Jessica's hand and kissed it solemnly.
However, when he turned and saw Jack, Gabriel's pupils instantly dilated, and his eyes filled with anger and disbelief.
"Is he the man you were talking about?" He clenched his fists, struggling to control himself, his voice almost hissing through his teeth.
"Yes." Jessica nodded, not noticing anything unusual.
At this moment, Jack walked over.
"You sit over there. I'll talk to him." Suddenly, Gabriel led Jessica to a table a bit farther away.
Jessica was about to say she could sit nearby and didn't need to be so far away, but Gabriel stopped her.
Gabriel patted her shoulder, saying, "Stay here and don't come over. I'll come to you once I'm done, okay?"
"Okay."
After comforting Jessica, Gabriel turned around, and it was as if he had become a different person.
He was filled with hostility, his entire being as cold as ice.
As their eyes met, sparks flew between them, their cold gazes clashing in a silent battle.
Gabriel gripped the cup in his hand tightly. Suddenly, the glass cup shattered in his hand.
At the same time, he looked up, his voice filled with gritted teeth as he looked at Jack. "It's you? Jack, didn't I warn you not to come back? And if you did, not to mess with my people? You shouldn't have come back, and you definitely shouldn't have messed with Jessica."
Jack sneered, "So, you're the boyfriend Jessica mentioned?"
"That's none of your business. All you need to know is that from today on, you better stay far away from her, or you'll regret coming back." Gabriel warned coldly.
Jack laughed. From childhood, he had always hated the Walton Family's high and mighty, aggressive demeanor.
He didn't expect that after all these years, the Walton Family was still the same.
"None of my business?" Jack sneered, "How is it none of my business? After that night, she is my responsibility. Gabriel, it's you who should leave."
Gabriel shouted with his face turning livid, "What did you say?"
He lunged forward, grabbing Jack by the collar and punching him in the face.
"Bastard, say that again?"
Gabriel's eyes were bloodshot with rage, his anger surging like a tsunami in his chest.
