Chapte The Wedding 2

When putting on the wedding dress, Jessica was a bit worried.

She had ordered it earlier, and now, in the late stages of her pregnancy with a big belly, she was afraid it wouldn't fit.

Fortunately, the waist was slightly loose, and the skirt was large enough, so Jessica could wear it comfortably.

What surprised Jessica even more was that the skirt perfectly covered her bump.

After putting on the dress, Jessica looked at herself in the full-length mirror several times.

Jessica made sure every detail was perfect, that she looked stunning before she walked towards the door with satisfaction.

Outside the door, Louie was completely shocked the moment he saw Jessica.

He widened his eyes, never expecting that Jessica had gone in to change into a wedding dress.

He always knew Jessica was beautiful.

Especially the gentle and lovely aura she exuded that captivated everyone.

However, he never expected her to look this stunning in a wedding dress.

She stood there, simply breathtaking.

Despite being in the late stages of pregnancy, she didn't look bloated at all.

Instead, it added a touch of gentle charm and mature allure to her.

Walking before Louie, Jessica asked, "Louie, do I look good in this wedding dress?"

Louie nodded vigorously, "You look beautiful."

"You look good in anything, but even more so in a wedding dress."

Jessica looked down at the patterns on her dress, speaking with a hint of sadness.

"This wedding dress was custom-made for me by Gabriel, and it arrived not long ago. I always thought that when I put on this dress, it would be for my wedding with Gabriel."

"I always dreamed of how grand our wedding would be, and Gabriel would marry me most romantically. I would be the happiest bride in the world."

"But, life is unpredictable, and fate plays tricks on us. I never imagined I would wear this dress under such circumstances."

Jessica smiled bitterly, trying to suppress the pain in her heart, "Calling it a wedding isn't wrong. With so many neighbors and friends from the island in attendance, it is truly a grand event."

"It's just that it's not my wedding with Gabriel, but Gabriel and Celia's wedding," Jessica spoke so casually.

Her words were as ordinary as talking about the weather.

Her tone was so calm that it seemed like it had nothing to do with her.

But Louie knew she cared too much.

Jessica's heart was in pain, screaming in agony.

She just chose to express it in this calm and desperate way.

After speaking, Jessica lifted her skirt and walked forward gently.

Jessica walked slowly as if she wanted to measure every inch of the ground.

Just as she reached the door, Vincent, wearing an army green trench coat and black boots, walked in with a heroic stride.

Seeing Vincent, Jessica quickened her pace to walk over.

Vincent was puzzled to see Jessica alone in a wedding dress.

Moreover, the festive sounds he heard along the way made him even more confused.

Just as he was about to speak, Jessica suddenly walked up and hugged Vincent.

Jessica buried her head in Vincent's chest, tugging at his coat with one hand, her soft voice pitiful like a little rabbit.

"Vincent, can I hug you? Just like a brother."

"My heart hurts so much, a suffocating feeling that makes it hard to breathe."

Vincent hugged her, patiently asking, "Is it because your belly is big, and the baby is pressing on your stomach and heart, making you feel uncomfortable?"

Jessica didn't answer; her gaze lifted to meet his clear, deep, and bright eyes.

"Vincent, do you know? When I was little, I envied girls who had brothers the most."

"Because having a brother is so warm and secure. He would always protect his sister first and always guard her. To me, you are like a brother."

"But I am such a failure. I always enjoy your kindness without giving anything in return."

Vincent affectionately patted her head, "Silly, what are you talking about? I do it willingly."

"Now, can you tell me what happened?"

Jessica let go of him, trying to calm her emotions as she spoke.

"Gabriel is marrying Celia."

After a pause, Jessica added in a quite calm tone, "The wedding is today."

"What happened?" Vincent couldn't accept it for a moment.

Jessica bitterly curled her lips, "At this point, what happened doesn't matter anymore. What matters is that Gabriel chose Celia and gave up on me."

Jessica looked at the dazzling sunlight above, almost unable to open her eyes.

But she still looked at Vincent and firmly said, "So, I want to go back. I miss Gilbert and Freddy, I miss Tina, I miss everything there. Vincent, will you take me back?"

"Okay."

Whatever Jessica wanted, Vincent would make it happen, as he had never learned to refuse her.

"Thank you, Vincent."

"Now, there's only one last thing left. Since we're leaving, let's go and say a proper goodbye to Gabriel. Will you come with me?"

Vincent nodded, "Okay."

Jessica smiled with satisfaction, then turned to Louie, "Is everything packed? Don't leave anything behind. Once we leave this door, we will never come back."

"Mrs. Walton, rest assured, everything is packed."

"That's good."

When Vincent accompanied Jessica, it was lively inside.

Francis had just picked up Celia a while ago, and the host was already calling the couple to get ready for the ceremony.

Five minutes later, the ceremony officially started.

The wedding ceremony simplified some procedures, so it quickly reached the ring exchange part.

When the host called for this, Vincent immediately raised his hand and shouted, "Wait!"

Instantly, all eyes turned towards him.

At first, everyone thought Vincent was Celia's ex-boyfriend or something, probably looking for Celia.

However, when Jessica walked in slowly, wearing an exquisite wedding dress, everyone was stunned.

The crowd erupted in intense discussions.

"What's going on? This woman came in a wedding dress?"

"Yeah, what happened? Why are there two brides?"

"Also, look at her wedding dress. It's so exquisite. The pattern looks hand-embroidered. How much must that have cost!"

The crowd was filled with various voices.

But the main focus of the discussion was on the two brides.

At that moment, someone suddenly shouted.

"This bride looks so familiar. Oh, I remember now."

"She was the woman Francis was holding hands with, walking intimately on the beach the other day. They even kissed. It was such an enviable scene."
