Chapter 350 Gabriel, Goodbye

As soon as he spoke, Gabriel scooped Jessica up and laid her gently on the bed.

He knelt down, brushed the dust off her feet, and carefully put socks on her. Then he tucked her in with a blanket. "Lie down and wait for me, I'll be back after a shower."

"Okay."

When Gabriel finished his shower, he found Jessica leaning on the bed, reading a book. Noticing it was already ten o'clock, he gently took the book from her hands and said, "You shouldn't stay up; you're pregnant. Let's get some sleep."

Jessica smiled and snuggled into his arms, holding him close. The room's light was soon turned off, but honestly, Jessica wasn't sleepy at all.

Gabriel, on the other hand, fell asleep quickly. It was probably the first time in ages he had gone to bed this early, and being so tired lately, holding Jessica made him feel at ease.

That night, Jessica didn't fall asleep until very late. But she woke up really early.

The sky seemed to brighten early because of the snow, making the room look extra bright.

Jessica turned to her side, quietly watching the snow outside the window. The fresh snow covered everything like a beautiful white blanket.

After another half hour, sensing that Gabriel had woken up, she immediately closed her eyes, pretending to be sound asleep.

Gabriel got dressed and washed up. Before leaving, he walked over to the bedside and looked at Jessica. Her eyes were still closed, her long eyelashes like two little brushes, thick and dense. At this moment, with her eyes closed, she looked truly gorgeous.

Gabriel's gaze fell on Jessica's lower belly, and a gentle smile curved his lips. Jessica was pregnant with twins—two kids. If nothing went wrong, there would definitely be a daughter. Their daughter would definitely look like Jessica, like a beautiful little princess.

Thinking about the two babies arriving in eight months, Gabriel felt extremely happy. He felt energized by the anticipation and didn't feel tired at all.

Seeing Jessica sleeping soundly, Gabriel didn't disturb her. He reached out and tapped her upturned nose affectionately. "No wonder everyone says pregnant women love to sleep. You're really a little lazybones."

"Little lazybones, I'm going to work; you and the babies sleep a bit more," he whispered, kissing Jessica on the forehead. Then he turned and walked towards the door.

If he had gotten up just a little later, he would have seen the tears slowly falling from the corners of Jessica's eyes. She wasn't asleep. She wasn't asleep. How could she sleep, with so many thoughts racing through her mind??

Unfortunately, Gabriel had already left, so he wouldn't notice Jessica's tears.

Putting on a down jacket, Jessica immediately went out the door.

Standing by the railing on the second floor, she could clearly see him walking away, straight and tall, full of vigor.

Just like the boy she fell in love with at first sight. Though now, it was just a back view. But it was enough for her.

"Gabriel, this time I really have to say goodbye."

"I'm sorry, please forgive me for not being able to tell you all this in person and for not being able to stand in front of you and say goodbye. I was a coward."

"Gabriel, no matter how far I go, my heart and the babies' hearts will always be with you. Despite my regret and sadness, I wish you happiness no matter who you will be married to."

As Gabriel's figure grew more distant, Jessica's eyes welled up with tears, her whole body trembling. She covered her lips tightly, telling herself not to cry. She couldn't alert anyone, so she held back desperately.

But when his figure completely disappeared from sight, Jessica couldn't hold back anymore. She covered her lips and ran frantically back to the bedroom, then rushed to the bathroom and vomited violently.

Afterward, she could barely stand up straight. Jessica touched her belly and whispered, "You miss Daddy too, don't you? I do, but I can't be selfish. I'm sorry for taking you away from his love and protection. From now on, I'll love you twice as much."

Jessica looked around the room for a long time before finally deciding to take only a large bag. Besides important documents, she packed only a few meaningful items. She didn't take any clothes or other belongings, knowing that leaving with a suitcase would arouse suspicion.

Just as she finished packing, there was a knock on the bedroom door. When Jessica opened the door, she saw Charlotte standing there.

"Mrs. Walton," Charlotte smiled when she saw Jessica up and dressed. "You're up early. Mr. Walton asked me to remind you to have breakfast before he left. He was worried you might be hungry."

Jessica noticed that Charlotte had already brought up her breakfast, and it was very well-balanced in nutrition.

"Charlotte, thank you."

"Mrs. Walton, please enjoy your meal. I'll come up to clean later."

"No need, Charlotte, I have to go out later, I'll take it down myself."

"Okay, that works too."

When Jessica left, everything in the Walton family was normal. Everyone was busy with their own tasks in an orderly manner.

She was calm, her expression normal, carrying only a bag, so no one suspected that her departure would be permanent.

As Jessica was about to leave, Charlotte called after her, "Mrs. Walton, please stay safe. If you get tired, come back early. I made your favorite chicken soup, and Timothy got your favorite hot dogs."

With her back to them, Jessica's tears were already flowing uncontrollably. But she couldn't make a sound, she couldn't draw their attention.

Forcing herself, she replied with one word, "Okay."

The driver took Jessica to the mall in the city center and then waited in the parking lot.

But Jessica didn't go to the mall; instead, she hailed a taxi by the roadside. "To the bus terminal, please," she told the driver.

Half an hour later, Jessica arrived at the bus terminal. When buying a ticket, the ticket seller asked her where she was going.

Jessica fell into a daze. All along, she had only thought about leaving, but never decided where to go.

Or rather, in this vast world, she suddenly felt there was no place for her. She had no relatives, not even distant ones. So, it didn't matter where she went, it made no difference.

"Which bus leaves the soonest?" she asked.

"In eight minutes, there's a bus to Radiant Crest. Do you want to take it?"

At that time, Jessica didn't understand the hesitation in the seller's voice and the complex emotions on her face, not until she arrived there.

Soon, Jessica was on the bus.

When the bus left the toll station and entered the highway, her phone suddenly rang.
