Chapter 245 Jessica, won't you stay?
Feeling the warmth on her hand, Jessica turned her head and immediately saw Gabriel's newly opened eyes.
He was awake.
Although his face looked a bit pale, his eyes were still deep and captivating, extremely beautiful.
"Jessica," he spoke, his voice extremely weak. "Could you stay?"
His eyes were filled with a plea.
Such raw emotions couldn't be faked.
Jessica turned her face away. She should have left earlier.
If she hadn't seen his eyes or heard his plea, she could have left without hesitation.
But now, her legs felt like they were filled with lead, unable to move an inch.
Especially seeing his eyes, she felt a pang in her heart.
After all, he was the man she had loved for ten years.
He was her secret crush, her affection, her youth.
He was her first love, her first everything.
Taking a deep breath, Jessica turned back and looked at him calmly. "We already broke up, remember?"
Gabriel shook his head. "I haven't forgotten, but I told you, I don't agree."
Jessica said firmly, "But this time, it's not up for debate. I'm telling you, we're over."
"Since you're awake and your fever has subsided, you're fine now. I have to go to work tomorrow, so I'm leaving. They will take good care of you."
Jessica turned and quickly walked out.
She was afraid that if she stayed any longer, she wouldn't be able to leave.
"Jessica," Gabriel called out to her, his voice particularly sorrowful.
She didn't stop and continued walking out.
At that moment, Gabriel tumbled off the bed.
Seeing Jessica leave, he didn't care about anything else. He pulled out the IV and got off the bed to chase after her.
However, after having a high fever for a whole day and night and not eating for a day, he unexpectedly fell directly to the ground.
The always high and mighty, elegant Mr. Walton, had never been so disheveled.
Hearing the noise, Jessica immediately stopped.
Gabriel's voice sounded from behind. "Jessica, don't go.
"Are you really going to leave me? Do you really have no feelings for me at all?"
Jessica looked up, her face already covered in tears.
How could she have no feelings?
If only she could control her feelings. But she couldn't.
"Mr. Walton, let me help you up." At this moment, Oscar stepped forward.
Gabriel pushed him away, saying coldly and harshly, "Get away. I don't need your help."
Oscar said worriedly, "But Mr. Walton, you pulled out the IV, and your hand is bleeding. This is very dangerous."
Jessica had to admit, Oscar's words struck a chord.
How did he end up like this?
Blinking back tears, Jessica turned around.
Although she had imagined that he might look a bit terrible now, seeing him with her own eyes still made her heartbroken.
"Are you okay?" Her eyes were red as she walked over and squatted beside him.
Gabriel didn't care about his wounds at all and grabbed Jessica's hand tightly. "Are you still leaving?"
Her heart was blocked, and she couldn't speak for a while.
Seeing her not speaking, he became anxious. "If you insist on leaving, then my illness has nothing to do with you."
Seeing him not caring about his own body, Jessica immediately got angry.
She yelled, "Gabriel, this is your body, not mine.
"If you don't cherish your own body, there's nothing I can do.
"Even if I stay, with your attitude, you'll die from blood loss."
Gabriel wasn't angry at all. He understood Jessica's words and immediately reached out, grabbedher hand, and asked with joy, "Jessica, does this mean you're not leaving? You're willing to stay with me?"
"Are you going to get treated?" She retorted.
"Yes." He nodded repeatedly. "I'll definitely get treated. I'll listen to you. Whatever you say, I'll do."
"First aid kit," Jessica said.
Oscar immediately brought it over respectfully.
She opened the first aid kit, stopped the bleeding, and applied medicine.
Then she called the nurse to change the IV fluid and continued the infusion.
Only then did Gabriel lie back on the bed.
But he was reluctant to close his eyes, afraid that if he did, Jessica would leave.
Throughout the process, she didn't say a word, just silently doing everything.
After finishing, she sat on a chair beside him.
At that moment, her stomach suddenly growled. She immediately reached out and gently touched her stomach.
She had only eaten a hamburger and a piece of compressed biscuit all day, and she was very hungry now.
Gabriel looked at Oscar and raised his eyebrows.
Soon, a delicious dinner was brought in.
Jessica was a bit surprised and looked up at Gabriel but didn't say anything.
"I haven't eaten all day,and I'm hungry. Will you eat with me?" Gabriel said.
He knew that if he said it was for her, she might refuse directly.
Now, he didn't expect her to understand his kindness.
As long as she didn't go hungry, he was satisfied.
After dinner, Jessica felt much better.
Sitting on the chair, she rested her head and quickly fell asleep.
Gabriel waved his hand, and Oscar immediately understood, letting everyone leave the room.
Once everyone was gone, he immediately got out of bed.
Bending down, he didn't hesitate to carry her to his bed, covered her with a blanket, and sat on a chair beside her.
Watching her sleep soundly, Gabriel almost greedily gazed at her.
Then he said softly, "I'm sorry, Jessica, I made you sad.
"I know, forcing you to stay will make you angry and unhappy, but I have no other choice.
"I only know that I can't let you go. If hatred can keep you by my side, then hate me, as long as I can see you."
That night, his hand held hers tightly.
In the morning, as soon as the alarm rang, Jessica woke up immediately.
She opened her eyes and was shocked to find herself in bed.
Jessica looked around. The room was empty, with no sign of Gabriel.
She got out of bed and hurriedly looked around.
But she didn't see Gabriel.
"Gabriel," she called out anxiously, running out.
Suddenly, she bumped into someone head-on, her head hitting his shoulder blade, causing her pain.
Gabriel immediately reached out, rubbing her head. "Are you okay? Does it hurt?"
Jessica shook her head, "I'm fine."
"Jessica, were you looking for me just now? I knew it. You still care about me," Gabriel said excitedly.
"No," Jessica immediately denied, "You misunderstood. I just wanted to say goodbye."
She continued, "Since you're almost recovered, I'm leaving now. I have to go to work."
Gabriel immediately took her hand and looked at her seriously. "I'll pick you up from work tonight."
