Chapter 550 Francis's Confession
"On the way to the airport," Vincent replied calmly.
"Vincent, listen up, don't even think about moving. You are not allowed to take her away. I'm coming right now."
Hanging up the phone, Francis sped towards the airport on his motorcycle.
However, upon arriving at the airport and anxiously searching around, Francis went mad as he watched the flight take off.
They were already gone.
Francis didn't make it in time.
How could this happen?
No way, this couldn't be happening.
Francis had just realized his feelings and couldn't let her leave like this.
Just as Francis was inquiring about the next day's flight information, his phone beeped.
It was a scheduled message from Vincent: [I went back. Jessica didn't leave with me, but this is your only chance. If you miss it, next time I come, I will take her away from here, away from you.]
[The final choice is yours.]
Francis felt a huge sense of relief and immense gratitude when he looked at the message.
Luckily, Jessica hadn't left, and he had a chance.
Changing direction, Francis quickly started running towards Jessica.
He couldn't wait any longer to tell her his decision, his answer.
However, Francis never imagined that as soon as he arrived, he would see Louie running out anxiously.
"What happened? Why do you look so panicked?"
A very bad thought suddenly flashed through Francis's mind.
"Mrs. Walton is missing. I haven't been able to find her for hours."
"What?" Francis immediately became extremely nervous. "Think carefully, where did she go today? What did she do?"
"After saying goodbye to Mr. Lucas in the morning, Mrs. Walton said she wanted to take a walk up the mountain."
"She's pregnant, and you let her go up the mountain alone?" Francis almost roared.
The mountain here wasn't steep, but it was sparsely populated and rarely visited.
Moreover, because of the dense forest and complex terrain, getting lost inside would be very dangerous.
It was said that wild animals had appeared in the mountains a few years ago, which was very frightening.
Thinking of this, Francis's heart pounded, and he broke out in a cold sweat.
"What are you waiting for? I'll go look first. You find some people to help search the mountain."
"Okay."
On the way up the mountain, Francis was calling out for Jessica.
"Jessica."
"Jessica, where are you?"
"Jessica, it's Francis. If you hear me, please respond."
Afraid she couldn't hear him, he kept raising his voice and shouted as loud as he could.
An hour passed, and there was still no sign of her.
Jessica seemed to have disappeared without a trace, with no response.
Francis felt a growing sense of unease in his heart.
Moreover, as the sky descended into darkness, the mountain air turned noticeably colder.
In other words, if she wasn't found soon, Jessica could be in danger.
'Jessica, please be careful. Just promise me you'll be okay.'
'I'm pleading with you; stay safe and wait for me to come find you.'
'Jessica, wait for me.'
Francis kept silently praying in his heart.
At that moment, he wished he could trade his life for her safety.
Just as Francis's voice became hoarse and he could barely make a sound, suddenly, a breeze picked up, and he thought he caught the sound of quiet sobbing not too far off.
Crying?
Almost instantly, a spark of hope lit up in his heart.
"Jessica, is that you?"
"Answer me, is it you?"
Francis started running frantically in that direction, shouting with all his might.
But after a few shouts, no one answered him.
When he got a bit closer, he suddenly heard a cry for help.
"Jessica, it's Francis, answer me!"
"Jessica."
Francis, with bloodshot eyes, ran towards the sound.
Suddenly, he heard a response, accompanied by trembling, faint sobs, "Francis, it's Jessica, is it you?"
Francis heard it.
"It's me."
"Don't cry, don't be afraid."
"Stay where you are, I'm coming right now, okay?"
Jessica nodded fearfully, "Okay."
He pushed aside the thorny bushes, and when he saw Jessica sitting on the ground, hugging herself in fear and trembling, Francis's heart ached.
In a few quick steps, he rushed over and hugged Jessica tightly.
At the same time, he softly comforted her, "Don't be afraid, I'm here. I will protect you. With me here, no one can hurt you."
At that moment, it wasn't until she saw him, held him tight, that Jessica dared to cry out loud.
Before, even though she was scared, she didn't dare to cry loudly, only sobbing and sniffling quietly.
Now, it was all good. He was here, and she wasn't afraid anymore.
"Francis, you finally came. Do you know? I was very scared."
"I was afraid something would happen to me, that I would never see you again."
"I was afraid you wouldn't find me, that I would freeze to death on the mountain. I was also afraid of wild animals coming to eat me. I was so scared that I didn't even dare to cry."
"Now it's okay. I can finally cry out loud."
After saying this, Jessica wrapped her arms around him, gripping his clothes tightly, and couldn’t hold back her tears any longer.
Francis held her, stroking her back, and comforted her.
"Once you finish crying, you won't be scared or feel bad anymore."
"I'm sorry, I was too slow. I didn't find you in time."
Jessica cried on his shoulder for a while before she finally calmed down.
Wiping her tears, she looked at Francis with red eyes, "Why did you come to find me?"
Francis held her tightly, lowering his head, his lips lightly touched Jessica's earlobe.
"Jessica, I'm late in giving you an answer, but I want to tell you, I've thought it through. I've fallen for you, I like you."
"I know I'm a jerk. I don't love my fiancée, but I love you."
"Vincent was right. If I marry Celia just out of responsibility, it would be irresponsible to Celia, to you, and us."
Jessica understood his words.
She couldn't help but feel elated, excited, and thrilled.
Jessica had thought she was doomed.
She even thought she would die on the mountain and never come down again.
But she never imagined that everything would take a turn for the better. Not only did he find her himself, but he also confessed his feelings and made a promise.
Everything happened so fast.
Jessica suddenly felt a bit scared.
