Chapter 691 Deep Sibling Affection 2

Elton was very generous when he approved Grace's leave.

When Linda arrived at the room, Grace had already packed her things and was ready to leave.

"What's going on? What happened?" she asked.

"Linda, Willie said Quentin is not doing well right now, and I want to go back and check on him."

"You always say you're not worried about him, but the moment something happens, you get more anxious than anyone. Go ahead, go ahead. Luckily, you don't have any scenes tomorrow, and it's going to rain for the next few days, so the crew will be taking a break."

"Thank you, Linda."

The moment the plane soared into the sky, Grace even wondered if she had gone mad.

Grace must have been mad, flying back just because Willie mentioned that Quentin hadn't eaten all day and locked himself in the room.

At nine in the evening, Quentin was still locked in his room.

Willie had tried to persuade him several times, but to no avail.

At that moment, there was a noise from the stairwell.

The next moment, Caroline came up.

"Where's Quentin? How is he?" she asked anxiously as soon as she arrived.

Willie looked worriedly at the door. "No matter what we say, there's no response, not a single sound."

Caroline immediately strode over.

And she waved her hand. "Don't wait, come over here and break the door down."

Willie ran over. "Ms. Stewart, do we really have to break it?"

"What else? If he stays in there for the rest of his life, are you going to let him?"

"But?"

"I'm the one who's breaking it, and I'll take full responsibility for whatever happens."

As soon as she finished speaking, the people outside started breaking down the door.

After just a few hits, suddenly, the door was opened from the inside.

Suddenly, Quentin's serious and terrifying face appeared before everyone.

"Mr. Taft, you finally came out. Are you hungry? I'll get you something to eat right away," Willie stammered excitedly.

Caroline was also very happy, "Quentin, it's so good to see you're okay."

Quentin's gaze coldly fell on the people who had been breaking down the door. "What are you all doing?"

Those people immediately looked at Caroline in unison.

Caroline didn't hide it and admitted openly, "Quentin, I'm sorry. I was worried something might have happened to you, so I had them break the door."

"What could happen to a man like me?"

"Everyone leave, I want to be alone."

"Willie told me everything. I know you're not feeling well right now. I'm your fiancée, let me stay with you, okay?"

At that moment, Willie had already brought up some food.

Quentin coldly ordered, "Take Ms. Stewart home."

Then, Quentin closed the door again.

When Willie returned after taking Caroline home, he was stunned to see Grace waiting in the living room.

He was even more shocked. "Ms. Morgan, why are you back?"

"Where is he? Is he still sulking?"

"Ms. Morgan, please follow me."

Upstairs, Willie pointed to the room ahead. "Mr. Taft is in there, he's been there all day."

As for Caroline's recent visit, Willie didn't mention a word.

"I'll go check on him first. Have the kitchen prepare some food."

"Okay."

After Willie went downstairs, the second floor became extremely quiet.

Grace walked over step by step.

As soon as she placed her hand on the door, she realized it was just closed, not locked.

So she gently pushed it open.

She tried to keep her footsteps light as she slowly walked in.

Finally, she saw Quentin sitting on the floor.

He was sitting lazily and wearily, with things scattered all around him.

There were books, photo albums, cigarette butts, and toppled-over wine bottles.

Hearing the noise, he immediately frowned. "Why are you here again?"

"I told you, I don't want to see you."

"If you don't want to see me, then I'll leave."

Grace said, turning to leave.

Quentin's mind suddenly became a bit clearer.

The voice just now didn't sound like Caroline's; it sounded like Grace's.

Turning his head, he indeed saw that familiar figure he had been longing for day and night.

"Grace!"

He called out, suddenly stood up, and quickly ran over, hugging her from behind.

"Don't go, you're not allowed to go anywhere," he said, his voice as domineering as ever.

"Didn't you just tell me to leave?"

"I didn't know it was you," he murmured, somewhat aggrieved.

"Then who did you think it was?"

"Willie."

Then, he just held her like that, and the room became extremely quiet.

If it weren't for his arms tightly holding her, Quentin would have thought it was all a dream.

"Grace, I'm not dreaming, right? You're really here with me?"

"Of course, it's real."

"Aren't you filming with the crew? Why did you suddenly come back?"

"I don't have any scenes for the next few days, and the weather is bad, with several days of rain. Mr. Krueger said we could take a few days off. I was bored there by myself, so I came back," Grace replied.

She didn't tell him the real reason.

If he knew she had taken leave and rushed back just for him, he would probably be even more arrogant.

Quentin, somewhat unhappy, nuzzled her neck.

"Alright," he said, like a wronged child, "so I was just being self-indulgent, thinking you came back for me."

"Willie said you've been in this room all day and haven't eaten a bite. Aren't you hungry?"

Quentin let go of her and then took her hand, leading her to where he had been sitting.

He picked up a photo album and handed it to her, saying, "These are all photos of Helen and me."

"There are a lot several albums. I've looked through them all."

"I used to hate the Taft Group's businesses because they kept my mom busy all the time, leaving no time for us."

"But later, the reason I was willing to go into business was initially to protect Helen."

Quentin pointed to a photo in the album. "This was taken after a kidnapping rescue. Helen and I were together. When I was a kid, I was kidnapped three times because of the Taft Group."

"The first time, Helen reported it in time and used her wits to save me."

"The second time, she outsmarted the kidnappers. To save me, she used herself as bait, fell from a mountain, broke her leg, and almost ended up in a wheelchair."

"The third time, she was shot twice while saving me. One bullet was just a few inches from her heart, and the other was in her uterus. Do you know? She almost died in front of me."

"That's why she hasn't been able to get pregnant all these years since she got married, all because of me."

"But now, even though I have the ability, I can't save her. I can only watch her lie in bed, kept alive by a cold machine. Grace, do you know how much that hurts me?"
