Chapter 698 Suddenly Missing Him

"Got it!" Grace nodded.

"Then how dare you do that?" Linda said.

Linda was worried, her mind racing on how to minimize the damage.

Grace poured a glass of warm water and handed it over. "Linda, sit down and listen to me first."

"How can I be in the mood? I'm worried about you."

"Do you want to hear me out?" Grace asked.

Seeing her confident demeanor, Linda had no choice but to take the glass and sit down. "Alright, I'm listening."

"Linda, I did hit her with the ashtray, and it hurt and she bled, but I was careful. It's just some superficial wounds, painful but not serious."

"How do you know?" Linda asked quickly.

"I used to train seriously for acting. I know how to hit without causing real harm."

"And I've already cleaned the blood off her head."

"As for calling the police, Beth won't do that."

Linda was still very nervous, "Are you sure?"

"Beth has maintained her status in the industry, but she hasn't had any good projects in the past two years. This show is her best chance for a comeback."

"If she calls the police, think about it. If it gets out that the second female lead hit the first female lead, the show will be ruined, and she won't gain anything from it. So I'm sure she won't call the police."

"And there's another reason."

Grace flipped to a photo from yesterday and handed it to Linda.

Linda was stunned when she saw the photo of Marlon and Beth hugging and kissing. "Is this Marlon and Beth? They're dating? Grace, where did you get this picture?"

Grace glanced at the big tree outside the balcony. "From there. I saw it with my eyes last night. They were so into it that I took a picture."

"This show is also the first one where Beth and Marlon are co-starring as the leads. So even if Beth wants to go all out, Marlon won't let her call the police."

Linda finally breathed a sigh of relief.

When she looked at Grace again, there was a hint of admiration in her eyes.

"So, hitting Beth wasn't an impulsive and reckless act."

"On the contrary, you thought everything through before you acted."

Grace nodded. "Yes."

But Linda was still worried. "You didn't have to do it yourself. Next time, leave it to me. It's better if I do it."

"I thought that you'll be handling some business resources in the future and can't always be by my side."

"I just wanted to give Beth a warning, to make her remember. Otherwise, she won't learn her lesson."

Linda nodded. "You're right. After this, Beth is probably scared out of her wits and won't dare to mess with you again. She'll definitely behave better."

"Yes."

"Alright, after all this, you must be scared, too. Do you want me to stay with you?"

Grace shook her head. "No need, I'm an adult now. It's embarrassing."

"Okay, then get some rest. Call me if you need anything."

After Linda left, Grace suddenly felt the room become much quieter.

Grace often found herself overthinking in moments of excessive quietude. Especially when she saw the ashtray on the table.

Looking closely, there were still some bloodstains on it.

In the light of the night, it looked quite eerie.

Grace didn't dare to look at it anymore and simply threw it into the trash can.

But the room was too quiet, and her heart was pounding.

Grace wasn't scared when she hit Beth, and she was calm when Linda came.

But now, being alone, Grace felt a sudden fear.

After all, Grace had never done such a thing before.

If Beth hadn't pushed Grace to the edge, she wouldn't have resorted to violence.

For some reason, in this quiet and fear, Grace suddenly missed Quentin a lot.

She really wanted to hear his voice suddenly.

It seemed that hearing his voice would make her less afraid.

Thinking this, she dialed his number.

On the other side, Quentin was in a meeting. To avoid interruptions, he had left his phone with Willie.

But he was wearing a smartwatch connected to his phone, so he saw Grace's call immediately.

This was the first time she had called him since joining the crew.

And it was so late.

Quentin's heart was pounding with excitement.

"Alright, everyone, take a break."

As soon as he finished speaking, he reached for his smartwatch to answer the call.

But just as he was about to answer, the call ended.

At that moment, Willie had just opened the door to distribute snacks for the break.

Quentin looked at him, his gaze cold, and beckoned him over.

He said, "Come here."

Realizing something, Willie quickly grabbed the best bread from the tray and rushed over, placing it in front of Quentin.

"Mr. Taft, enjoy!"

Quentin looked at him. "When did I say I wanted bread?"

Willie mimicked Quentin's beckoning gesture and smiled. "Mr. Taft, didn't you just call me over like this?"

"I just wanted you to come over."

"Alright." Willie nodded and quickly took the bread away from Quentin.

Quentin was helpless and suspected that Willie had a problem with his brain.

Willie wasn't just stupid.

He didn't know how he had tolerated Willie for so many years.

"Did someone kick your head recently?" Quentin asked angrily.

Willie looked up in shock. "Mr. Taft, how did you know? You're amazing! Nothing escapes your eyes."

Quentin was helpless.

She seriously considered whether he should get a new assistant.

But then Willie continued, "But it wasn't a person. It was a German Shepherd when I was going home."

Quentin couldn't continue the conversation.

He reached out his hand and asked coldly, "Where's my phone?"

"In your office. By the way, Ms. Morgan called you just now."

Quentin looked at him, almost gritting his teeth, "Then why did you hang up?"

Willie replied, "Mr. Taft, I saw you were in a meeting, so I hung it up."

"Go get my phone now."

"Yes, right away."

"Forget it, I'll get it myself."

After getting his phone from the office, Quentin immediately called Grace back.
