Chapter 735 Turmoil 4

Beth hugged her arms and squatted on the ground, crying.

The USB drive was tightly clenched in her hand.

Not far away in the shadows, a man put away his camera with satisfaction.

After some editing, at least a dozen of the photos would have excellent angles and positions.

He got into the car and called Marlon, "The photos are all set. I'll send them to you after organizing them."

"No need to organize them. The raw ones are the best. That way, people will believe it more."

Marlon then asked, "Where is she?"

"Beth is squatting on the ground, crying!"

Marlon curled his lips and uttered a heartless sentence, "Good, expose her location to the media."

The man was stunned for a moment, then said, "You're really ruthless. Beth is your wife, after all. There's no need to be so harsh just to set up Grace. The media will probably keep pestering her. You've married; don't you feel any pity?"

"That's none of your business. Don't interfere."

"Alright, I'll do my job well."

Beth squatted on the ground, crying for a while.

Eventually, she got too cold.

She stood up, wanting to leave.

But after squatting for too long, feeling overly sad these past few days, and not eating well, she felt dizzy from low blood sugar. As soon as she stood up, her head spun.

Beth staggered and fell to the ground.

Just as she was trying to get up again, suddenly, a group of people with cameras rushed over like mad.

In less than a minute, Beth was surrounded by a crowd.

A dense mass of people blocked her, leaving no space.

Countless heads bobbed around. She lay on the ground, in a mess, with her palms scraped and bleeding.

"Beth, are the things reported online true? Did you really work as a model before your debut?"

"And also, the person in the photos is you, right?"

The camera lights flashed continuously.

Countless people took photos of her frantically.

Beth tightly covered her face, not daring to say a word.

She didn't dare to make a sound or resist.

She could only let these people bombard her with one vicious question after another.

"Beth, please respond?"

"Why aren't you speaking?"

Voices of discussion rose from the crowd, "It seems to be true."

"Yeah, Beth isn't saying a word, so it's probably true."

Beth sobbed in pain, her heart filled with agony.

She wished she could escape immediately.

In her entire life, she had never been so embarrassed.

Just when she was in extreme pain and had lost all hope, suddenly, she heard a furious shout in her ear, "Get out of my way."

The crowd erupted again.

"Marlon, it's Marlon. Everyone, go interview him."

As soon as the words were out, everyone rushed over madly.

Beth got a moment to catch her breath.

But her legs were sore and numb, and she tried several times but couldn't get up.

"Marlon, you just got married to Beth. What do you think about the online revelations?"

"What can I think?" Marlon snorted coldly, pointing fiercely at the crowd, "I'm telling you, spreading rumors and causing trouble comes with a price. Your slander has caused serious harm to me and Beth."

"All the stuff online is completely fabricated by someone with an agenda."

"If anyone dares to post related comments online again, I will pursue it to the end."

Marlon's voice was powerful and intimidating.

Not only was Beth lying on the ground, shocked and deeply moved, but even the surrounding media were very surprised.

They didn't expect Marlon to protect Beth so fiercely.

A group of people took photos of Marlon frantically.

Marlon, however, shouted angrily, "Get out, all of you."

"I'm warning you, I'm no longer in the industry and have no fear of you. If you dare to harass Beth again, I won't be kind."

Someone was taking photos, but Marlon's sharp gaze made them feel a chill, and they silently put down their cameras.

Seeing that Marlon was not to be messed with, some turned their attention to Beth, taking photos madly.

Marlon stepped forward and smashed the camera of one person to pieces.

After smashing two cameras in a row, everyone realized his anger and left one after another.

Marlon then ran to Beth, squatted down, and gently held her in his arms.

Marlon's voice was filled with tenderness, "Honey, I'm sorry. It's my fault. I came too late."

Beth took the initiative to hug his neck, a faint smile on her lips.

"Honey, it's not your fault. Thank you for arriving on time."

"If it weren't for you, I would have been in so much pain."

In the car, Marlon gently placed her in the passenger seat.

Beth tugged at his sleeve, "Honey, I want to lie down in the back seat."

"Okay."

After Beth lay down in the back seat, Marlon looked at her through the mirror, a sinister smile appearing on his lips.

But Beth was destined not to see these smiles.

"Honey, we're going to the hospital now. Hold on."

Marlon continued to act affectionately.

"No need, honey. It's just some superficial wounds. My main issue is the mental shock. I just want to go home and lie down for a good sleep."

"Okay."

Ever since Beth heard what Grace said, she could no longer blindly trust Marlon as she did before.

If her scandals were really released by Marlon, then what about this time?

Was her being surrounded just now also his doing?

Beth's mind was in turmoil, suffocating with discomfort.

She didn't dare to think about it, nor did she want to.

In the end, she just lay in the back seat, silent.

"By the way, honey, didn't you say you didn't want to go out these days? Why did you suddenly come here? And you didn't tell me in advance, or I could have come to protect you."

Suddenly, Marlon asked.

Beth's heart instinctively trembled.

The words slipped out of her mouth, "If it weren't for the online stuff, today's event at the mall should have been mine. It's an event I've been looking forward to for a long time."

"Even though I didn't have the event, I still wanted to come and see. I didn't want you to worry, so I didn't tell you."

Beth lied.

She hid the fact that she came to see Grace.

Through the mirror, Marlon looked at her, his eyes suddenly turning vicious and ruthless.

Beth's words surprised him.

She had actually started lying to him.

It seemed he couldn't sit back and wait any longer.
