Chapter 659 Misunderstanding Quentin

"Alright, Helen, I promise you, I will find it," Quentin claimed with determination.

Helen immediately grabbed his hand and started crying, "Quentin, you can't lie to me. You're the only one I can trust."

"Helen, how could I? You've always been the best to me, cared for me the most. I wouldn't lie to you."Quentin coaxed her.

"Alright, then I can be at ease," Helen replied with satisfaction.

This commotion settled down, and Helen finally came to her senses.

Back then, the wedding of Helen, the eldest daughter of the Taft family, and Norberto Hagen, the only son of the Hagen family, was the talk of the town.

After the wedding, Helen and Norberto were deeply in love and sweet to each other.

The only regret was that Helen hadn't been able to have a child for several years.

Later, rumors of Norberto's infidelity became more frequent.

Helen tried to keep him, begged, but it was useless. Norberto not only didn't restrain himself but became even more arrogant.

Due to Norberto's infidelity and the pressure of not being able to conceive, Helen gradually developed depression.

At first, Helen hid it well.

Since she rarely returned to the Taft Manor, no one noticed her abnormality.

It wasn't until she attempted suicide at home and was rescued that everyone learned she not only had severe depression but had also become mentally unstable.

Later, Helen's mental condition worsened.

She would sometimes be insane and occasionally lucid.

When she was lucid, she could act like a normal person.

But when she had an episode, she was entirely out of her mind.

Moreover, she rejected anyone's approach except for Quentin, her younger brother, who had always been doted on by her.

Even her mother, Ruby, was very distant from Helen.

Grace hesitated for a long time, thinking over and over, and she decided she needed to tell Quentin about her comeback to the entertainment industry.

Otherwise, if he gave an order, all her efforts might be in vain.

Even though he didn't agree with her comeback.

But she still wanted to try her best.

After all, they had dated for two years, and Grace had some insight into him.

Quentin was the type who liked people to treat him gently.

So now, she could only treat him that way.

A few minutes later, she made the call.

When Quentin saw the name flashing on his phone, he couldn't quite believe it.

But the unique ringtone was hers.

An entire week, he had been staying at the Taft Manor because of Helen's situation and hadn't even gone to the company.

The matters of the company were all brought to him by Willie to handle at home.

This time, Helen's illness came on fiercely.

For several days, Helen's mental state hadn't stabilized and kept fluctuating.

Except for him, no one else could get close to Helen.

So he was very tired these days, not having had a good night's sleep.

At that moment, seeing Grace's call, his heart inexplicably started pounding.

Suddenly, he really wanted to hold her and hear her voice.

"Grace." He answered without any hesitation.

"You haven't been back for a long time. I made dinner today. Do you want to come back and eat?" Grace asked softly.

Hearing this, Quentin felt great. It was as if all the fatigue from the past few days had just melted away. At least Grace had some compassion; she still cared about him.

"Alright, what time? I'll come back."

Grace was about to answer when suddenly, Helen grabbed Quentin and anxiously shouted, "Quentin, are you leaving?"

"No, I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay here with you."

Sensing Helen's agitation, Quentin could only comfort her immediately.

Although he had moved the phone away, Grace heard it.

"Are you still coming back for dinner?" Grace asked.

Helen's voice came through the phone again, "Quentin, I know you're very busy, but can you stay with me for two more days?"

"Of course, go to sleep. I promise you'll see me first thing in the morning." Quentin Coaxed.

"Alright."

Helen finally closed her eyes and went to sleep.

But all these conversations were heard by Grace.

He was sweet-talking another woman.

It seemed he wouldn't be coming back.

After hanging up the phone, Grace looked in the mirror and tried to force a smile.

'Grace, you should be happy. This is good, isn't it? Besides his fiancée, he had many lovers and many places he could go, many places he could spend the night. So he wouldn't force you to do anything. In this way, he would soon get tired of you. That's good, then you will soon be free. This is something to be happy about, isn't it?' Grace thought to herself.

But that "Quentin" was like a thorn in her heart, one that couldn't be removed no matter what.

After being with him for so long, most people called him Mr. Taft.

The ones who called him "Quentin" were always those close to him.

The dishes were all prepared, just waiting to be cooked.

Initially, Grace was sure he would come back, so she prepared many of his favorite dishes.

Now it seemed he wouldn't be coming back.

Grace didn't want to waste them, so she cooked all the prepared dishes.

Looking at the table filled with dishes, Grace noticed that they were indeed colorful, fragrant, and delicious, especially with the guidance of the family chef.

Grace picked up her fork, but the intimate whisper of "Quentin" echoed in her mind, causing her to suddenly lose her appetite.

The table full of food no longer seemed appetizing. After a few hasty bites, she went upstairs.

Grace picked up the script but only read two pages before losing interest.

Finally, she simply sat on the balcony, letting the wind blow as she stared blankly.

On the other side, at the Taft Manor.

Helen had finally fallen asleep.

After making sure she was in a deep sleep, Quentin glanced at his phone; it was already past nine in the evening.

It had been over an hour since she mentioned eight o'clock.

She probably wasn't waiting for him anymore.

But even so, he still wanted to go back and see her.

When he hadn't heard Grace's voice, he could tell himself to endure it.

But once he heard Grace's voice, the longing washed over him like an unstoppable flood.

He truly missed Grace.

So at that moment, he realized he had to go back, even if it was just to see Grace for a moment and hold her briefly.

After tucking Helen in, Quentin looked at Ruby and spoke.

"Helen is asleep now. After several nights of fuss, she should sleep soundly tonight. You stay here and watch over her. If you get tired, go rest and have someone else take over."

"What about you?" Ruby asked.

"I have something to do and need to go out," Quentin replied.

Ruby lowered her voice and sneered, "I heard that phone call. Quentin, you know Helen can't be without you right now, yet you insist on going back to see Grace."
