Chapter 319 The Whole Hospital Knows Jessica Is Pregnant

"Jessica."

Gabriel had just started talking when Jessica cut him off.

She was crying, looking at him with those sad eyes. "Others might not get it, but you do, right? You know how much it hurt when we lost our first baby. I dream about him calling me 'Mom' every night. I dream of having another baby with you to make up for all that guilt and regret.

"Now that he's finally here, do you know how happy I am? But you don't seem excited at all.

"Gabriel, I'm not waiting for another chance. This baby is a gift from God. He's perfect, and I don't want anyone else but him."

Jessica broke down in tears.

Gabriel pulled her into his arms, feeling his heart shatter.

"Alright, we won't wait for another one. This baby is perfect, and we'll keep him." He finally gave in.

Nothing else mattered anymore. As long as she was happy and with him, he was content.

As long as he could see her smile, he was content.

He thought to himself, 'Dear Jessica, you have no idea how much I love you right now! Because I don't want to lose you, I can accept everything I thought I couldn't, including this baby.'

He leaned down and kissed Jessica deeply, saying, "Alright, stop crying. If you keep crying, you'll really turn into a weeping mess, and the baby wouldn't want a mom who only cries."

Jessica finally turned her tears into a smile, looking at him happily. "Did you really agree to keep this baby?"

Gabriel said, "Yes, I agreed. But if he makes you cry again, I might change my mind."

Jessica quickly wiped away her tears and hugged Gabriel joyfully. "Thank you, Gabriel. You're amazing. I love you!"

"What did you say? Say it again," Gabriel caught her words, squinting his eyes playfully.

Jessica blinked deliberately and said, "Thank you!"

"Not that one, the next one."

"You're amazing!" Jessica repeated.

Gabriel grabbed her and kissed her hard before holding her chin and warning her playfully, "Will you say it? If you don't, I'll have to teach you a lesson."

"How will you teach me?" Jessica squinted her eyes and asked with a smile.

Gabriel didn't say anything, suddenly reaching out and tickling Jessica's waist.

Instantly, Jessica laughed so hard she couldn't catch her breath, rolling around on the bed.

Thinking of the baby, she could only laugh and beg for mercy, "Alright, alright, I'll say it. Gabriel, I'll say it."

Gabriel finally let go, waiting leisurely.

The morning light shone through the thin curtains, falling on their faces and shoulders.

This scene was particularly beautiful and touching.

Jessica blinked her sparkling eyes and looked at Gabriel, speaking very seriously, "Gabriel, I love you."

Her voice was soft and gentle, like a cashmere blanket in a warm winter, so comfortable and warm.

So, Gabriel was deeply immersed in it from the first sound.

Jessica said softly, "I love the young, spirited you from ten years ago; and I love the elegant, mature, and charming you now. I love you, all of you."

After speaking, Jessica leaned in for a kiss.

She had waited far too long for this moment.

Their love had been through so many ups and downs.

But she hoped that from today, from now on, every day would be sweet and happy.

From now on, she, him, and the baby would be happy together, not wasting any good times.

It was unclear where the news started leaking from.

In any case, when Jessica went to work the next day, it seemed like everyone knew she was pregnant.

Some colleagues greeted her warmly and congratulated her with a smile, "Congratulations, Jessica. You're going to be a mother."

"Thank you!"

Jessica would reply with a bright smile.

But some colleagues whispered secretly, "What? Dr. Morgan is pregnant? Isn't she unmarried?"

"Young people these days are so open. Getting pregnant before marriage; aren't they afraid of ending up with nothing?"

Jessica tried to ignore these words, but they still reached her ears.

At first, she would smile and comfort herself, 'It's okay, as long as Gabriel and I know our relationship.

Besides, she didn't care about these formalities. What mattered was that they loved each other and had each other in their hearts.

However, when the rumors spread like a virus throughout the hospital, Jessica admitted that she still cared.

During lunch, Jessica went to the cafeteria with Tina.

After getting her food and sitting down, she heard whispers nearby, "Hey, did you hear? Dr. Morgan is pregnant?"

"Which Dr. Morgan?"

"The one in cardiothoracic surgery. I heard she has some connection with Dr. Smith. Do you think the baby...?"

"Don't say that. But I haven't heard she's married. So, she's pregnant before marriage, making such a big deal out of it. Isn't she afraid of ending up with nothing?"

"Who knows? Maybe you're right. The baby might be Dr. Smith's. If we talk about it, she might use the baby to become Dr. Smith's wife."

At first, they were somewhat cautious.

By the end, they were almost openly discussing it.

Jessica felt extremely uncomfortable hearing this.

They said she was pregnant before marriage, which she could tolerate since she and Gabriel hadn't remarried yet.

But how could they talk nonsense?

This baby was Gabriel's and had nothing to do with that awful Jack.

Jessica kept telling herself not to get angry, not to lose her temper.

She wasn't alone now; she had the baby, having to control her temper and needing to be happy and joyful.

But those words stuck in her throat, making her feel particularly uncomfortable.

"Jessica, don't mind them. They're just jealous. Don't pay attention to them or take their words to heart," Tina said.

"But..." Jessica still felt a bit bothered.

"Stop worrying. You're going to be a mother soon. Your first task is to maintain a good mood, eat well, drink well, and sleep well. Then give birth to a chubby baby."

Listening to Tina's comfort, Jessica felt much better.

After lunch, Jessica went to the restroom.

Just as she opened the door to leave, she heard voices outside again.

Unlike before, this time the voices were very familiar. It was the nurses from her department's front desk.

"Did you hear?"

"Of course, who doesn't know now? Dr. Morgan, how embarrassing. Her so-called boyfriend has never shown up, they're not even married, and now she's inexplicably pregnant. If it were me, I'd be hiding at home crying!"
