Chapter 154 How Will You Compensate Me?
Jessica took a deep breath after asking the question, trying to calm herself down.
For some reason, when she asked the question, she felt a strange sense of anticipation.
She must be crazy.
"I heard Grace is filming here, Quentin came to visit, I was feeling down, having recently gone through our divorce. And he suggested I join to unwind," Gabriel said.
"As soon as we got to the hotel, we saw two women hugging each other, crying and shouting. One of those women was you," he added.
Gabriel finished speaking without a hint of embarrassment.
His ability to make things up was now at a masterful level.
It was a good move, pushing everything onto Quentin.
And to be fair, his explanation was quite logical. Grace was indeed filming here, and she and Quentin were a couple. Quentin coming to see her made perfect sense.
Jessica believed him for now.
"Then why were you in my room? Can you let go of me?" Jessica said, struggling to leave.
They were already divorced, no longer a couple, how could they sleep in the same bed?
"I didn't want to come either," Gabriel said. "But a certain woman got drunk, dragged me to her room, and insisted I sleep with her. Considering you were drunk, I reluctantly agreed."
Jessica was speechless, pondering, 'He must be lying! Would I really be that disgraceful when drunk?'
She scratched her head, suddenly feeling annoyed, then looked at Gabriel seriously and said, "You're lying to me, right? How could I randomly drag a stranger to sleep with me?"
Gabriel cleared his throat and inquired, "Am I considered a stranger?"
Not wanting to discuss this with him, she just wanted to leave.
"Alright, I'll take the loss. Let go of me, I need to get up," Jessica said, preparing to get up.
Gabriel's striking visage drew nearer, gradually expanding in front of her until it halted just an inch away.
"After spending the night with you, my back and arms are sore. Don't you think you should compensate me a little?" He asked.
His sudden closeness, especially being so near, caught Jessica off guard, and her heart skipped a beat.
Blushing, she asked awkwardly, "Compensate what?"
After asking, she suddenly thought of something, pushed him away, and quickly distanced herself from him.
Seeing her dodge like a little rabbit, Gabriel smiled, a sense of unexpected satisfaction washing over him. "Are you that afraid of me?"
Jessica quickly changed the subject. "I just thought of something. Since you're here, how about I treat you to a meal?"
As she finished saying, she quickly went into the bathroom to freshen up.
Emerging moments later, a single question plagued her mind: What should she wear?
The next second, she saw the suitcase in the room. It was open, and the clothes inside looked rummaged through, a complete mess.
"Did you go through my suitcase?" Jessica asked.
Gabriel said apologetically, "It was urgent last night. I was looking for pajamas for you. But you clung to me, so I didn't tidy it up."
"If you need, I can tidy it up for you after breakfast."
Jessica was speechless again.
There were undergarments in her suitcase. How could she let him handle them?
After changing clothes, they went downstairs together.
As soon as they reached the elevator, they saw Grace and Quentin.
Seeing Grace, Jessica immediately ran over and grabbed her hand like she had found a savior.
The first words they said to each other were in shock.
"Quentin is here!?"
"Gabriel is here!?"
After speaking, they both fell silent.
Standing behind them in the elevator, tall and imposing, Quentin and Gabriel explained everything.
Although Jessica said she would treat Gabriel to a meal, it was actually the hotel's buffet breakfast.
Upon meeting Grace, Jessica and her friend grabbed some food and settled into a corner seat by the window.
It was a two-person seat.
Jessica and Grace had planned this, not wanting to leave seats for Quentin and Gabriel.
Quentin and Gabriel, seeing each other with their food, exchanged a glance and had to find another place to sit.
As the hotel was bustling with guests, there were no vacant seats nearby, forcing Quentin and Gabriel to settle at a table further away.
Undeterred, Jessica and Grace began their conversation with boldness.
"I'm so surprised. Gabriel actually followed you here?" Grace said in surprise.
"I'm surprised too. But Grace, please be more precise with your words. He didn't come to follow me."
"How could that be? It's so obvious. Isn't it clear he came to find you?" Grace asked.
Jessica took a sip of milk and said, "He said Quentin came to find you, and he was dragged along by Quentin. He just happened to run into me."
Grace laughed and said, "Jessica, you're really too naive. You believe whatever he says!"
"Besides, Quentin never said he was coming to visit me. If he had plans to come, he would have told me in advance. I think it wasn't Quentin dragging him here; it is more likely that Gabriel was the one who dragged Quentin here."
"How could that be?" Jessica's eyes widened.
"Did you two spend the whole night together?" Grace asked again.
Jessica blushed and nodded shyly.
"Then that's it. He must have regretted leaving you and wants to get back together."
"No way," Jessica denied forcefully.
She couldn't see any sign that Gabriel missed her. Besides, the person he liked was Diana.
"Then why did he sleep in the same room with you? Is he a pervert?" Grace inquired sincerely.
At this point, Jessica felt very embarrassed, but she still told Grace the truth, "He said I got drunk, went crazy, and insisted he sleep with me. He reluctantly agreed out of consideration for our past marriage."
Grace fell silent.
After breakfast, she put down her knife and fork and dragged Jessica to a place.
"Grace, where are we going?" Jessica asked.
"The surveillance room!"
Jessica was completely confused.
"I don't believe Gabriel's words. He said you went to him? It's impossible. I swear on my honor, he must have been the one pestering you. The surveillance room is just ahead. We can check yesterday's footage and find out. Do you want to go?"
Jessica hesitated for a moment, then firmly nodded. "Okay, let's go."
After watching a few minutes of the crucial footage.
Seeing herself almost unconscious from drunkenness, with no awareness at all, and Gabriel carrying her back to the room domineeringly, she realized Gabriel had lied to her.
Her face flushed a deep shade of crimson as she marched up to Gabriel, fixing him with a piercing glare filled with simmering anger.
