Chapter 580 Clue 3

Gabriel took out the photocopied photo and lit the lighter.

Suddenly, the flame leaped up, and the photo was instantly ignited.

In just a few seconds, it turned into a pile of ashes.

Gabriel wiped his hands and shot a cold, hawk-like gaze. "Just cleaning up things that shouldn't appear again."

With that, he looked at Oscar. "How's it going?"

"Mr. Walton, his computer, phone, and all social media accounts, everything has been destroyed. There won't be any copies left."

"Good."

Suddenly, he looked down at Carter. "And his clothes, I don't trust them. Strip him and change his outfit."

"Yes."

Soon, Carter's clothes were taken off.

Then Carter was forcibly changed into a new set of clothes.

Suddenly, a strong force hit Carter from behind, and before he realized it, he was pushed to the front door.

Then, Carter saw all his belongings, computer, phone, clothes... all piled together.

A bucket of oil was poured, and the flames roared up.

In a few minutes, everything in Carter's room was gone, leaving no trace.

But Carter didn't feel heartbroken; he had already received two million dollars.

How much could those things be worth?

However, Gabriel's next words were a devastating blow to him.

"Carter, I have the notebook and photos. Although I hate your deceit, you did provide some valuable things."

"I'll have someone take care of your gambling debts; they won't come after you anymore."

"But don't think you'll get that two million dollars. I've had the bank intercept it; it won't reach your account. This card has six thousand dollars, enough to keep you from starving for a while."

"Listen carefully, this is my last warning. Take the money and get far away. Don't ever appear in front of Jessica again."

Gabriel's eyes turned cold and sharp. "Otherwise, those people will come to kill you. Do you understand?"

Though the words were gentle, the decision was cruel and heartless.

"Gabriel," Carter couldn't accept the news and exploded. "Give me back the money. We agreed on a trade. How dare you deceive me?"

Gabriel sneered, "Nice try, but this was never yours. Giselle's belongings should have been left to Jessica."

Seeing that a tough attitude didn't work, Carter tried a more amicable approach.

"Gabriel, I beg you. Although I deceived you for years, I did hand over the items. Give me some money."

"I don't ask for the two million dollars anymore. Half, one million dollars, how about that?"

Gabriel raised an eyebrow in displeasure. "What do you think?"

"Four hundred thousand dollars?" Carter continued to probe.

Gabriel pressed his lips tightly.

"Two hundred thousand dollars, Gabriel, can't be less. You have to let me survive." Carter started to cry.

Seeing Gabriel ignoring him.

Carter kept pleading, "Gabriel, please help me. I don't want more, just two hundred thousand dollars, okay?"

"Please, have mercy on me."

Without further words, Gabriel threw the card in front of Carter.

"Six thousand dollars, not a penny more. If you don't want it, you'll lose even this last six thousand dollars."

Hearing this, Carter was shocked and frantically picked up the card. "I want it, I want it."

"Get lost."

When Jessica saw the photo, she nodded excitedly. "Yes, the person in the photo is my mom."

"Although it's very blurry, I won't mistake it. The person next to her, could he be my dad?"

Gabriel told Jessica everything Carter had said.

Jessica opened the diary, and the contents were indeed very simple.

"How are you? I miss you very much."

"I went for a check-up today, and the doctor said the baby is doing well, don't worry."

"I'll tell you a secret, the baby is a girl. You always wanted a girl, right? You'd be so happy to know I'm pregnant!"

"Take good care of yourself, don't do anything risky."

"They said you left, not just for a while, but forever. But I don't believe it. You wouldn't leave me, right? We have a lovely daughter named Jessica. You haven't met her yet. How could you leave?"

"They held a funeral for you. I secretly went to see it, but I still don't believe it."

"You haven't left. You're watching over us from somewhere, right?"

The later entries were almost all the same: I miss you, I miss you so much.

Turning to the last page, Jessica was too excited to speak.

When she was little, she often saw Giselle hiding a box.

She asked Giselle what was inside.

Giselle said it was her most precious thing.

After Giselle passed away, she searched the house for the box but couldn't find it.

It seemed that Carter had already taken the contents and thrown the box away.

"Damn it, Carter hid this from me for so many years!" Jessica's heart couldn't calm down.

Gabriel hugged her shoulders to comfort her, "Don't be angry, I've already taught him a lesson."

"He must have asked you for money again. You didn't give it to him, did you?"

"He asked for two million dollars. Don't worry, I didn't give him that much. I only gave him six thousand dollars."

Jessica was relieved.

She refocused on the photo. "It's so blurry, with only some small marks on the face. Can it be restored?"

Gabriel nodded. "I've already contacted someone. The photo has been sent to him, and he said it can be done."

"Really?"

Hearing this, Jessica was overjoyed.

"It's true. Since I promised, I'll make sure it's done."

"Don't worry about it now. Once the photo is restored, finding Dad should be easy."

Jessica was ecstatic.

Thinking about finding her dad soon, she hugged Gabriel tightly. "Honey, thank you! You're amazing!"

Gabriel pouted, clearly dissatisfied. "Is that all?"

Jessica smiled and leaned in to kiss his cheek.

But just as she got close, Gabriel turned his face.

Jessica's lips landed on Gabriel's lips.

He cupped the back of her head with one hand and deepened the kiss without hesitation.

The atmosphere grew more and more intimate.

The temperature between them kept rising.

Emotions were on the verge of spilling over.

Quietly, Jessica's strap slipped down, hanging lightly on her shoulder.
