Chapter 570 Gabriel's Long Pursuit of His Wife 1
Gabriel had already reached out his hand, just as he was about to embrace Jessica.
Jessica lifted her clear eyes and looked at him indifferently.
"Sorry, who did you say you are?"
Gabriel felt as if he had been struck hard.
He looked at Jessica, his voice trembling with disbelief, "Jessica, it's me, have you forgotten me?"
"Yes, I have forgotten."
Jessica looked at him, as calm as a still pond.
Her voice was as cold as Jessica's.
Gabriel stood there, feeling as if a knife was slowly slicing into his heart—just heart-wrenching pain, nothing more.
"Jessica," Gabriel stepped forward, hoarsely shouting, "Do you really not remember me? I'm Gabriel, your husband!"
Jessica pressed her lips together, desperately holding back.
Clenching her fists, she raised her face and calmly responded, "You're mistaken, you should be Celia's legal husband now, not mine. Mr. Gutierrez, you can't just claim a wife like that; it's against the law."
Gabriel realized that Jessica hadn't forgotten about him after all.
She was heartbroken and angry, so she pretended not to know him.
"I didn't marry her, Jessica. The moment I saw you walk out the door in your wedding dress, I regretted it."
"And I've regained my memory. I remember everything between us. I know you're my wife, Freddy, and Gilbert are our children, and you're pregnant with our daughter, right?"
Unable to hold back any longer, Jessica turned away, fighting back tears.
She should have been happy. After waiting so long, wasn't this the moment she had hoped for?
But why? Why did she feel so bitter and wronged?
Perhaps, what she resented was not his forgetfulness, but that he claimed to love her yet chose to marry Celia.
"Go away, I don't want to see you right now."
"If you've forgotten, then forget completely. Why remember and add more pain?"
Gabriel grabbed Jessica's hand, "Jessica, how could it be pain?"
"You're my wife, now our family can finally be together peacefully and happily. I will never let go."
Jessica calmly broke free from his arm, "Mr. Gutierrez, please don't call me randomly. I'm not your wife."
"And this is my bedroom. Without my permission, please don't enter."
She kept her back to Gabriel.
Her voice was calm, without any fluctuation.
But the calmer she was, the more Gabriel's heart ached.
"Jessica, I'm sorry."
"I know you're hurting right now. I know you have so many grievances. I've wronged you."
"If you don't want to see me right now, fine, I'll leave."
"But no matter what happens in the future, I won't leave you."
After saying that, Gabriel left the room.
The moment the door closed, Jessica couldn't hold on any longer and almost stumbled onto the bed.
Tears streamed down her cheeks.
Her mouth tasted salty and bitter; the taste of tears was truly unpleasant.
"Gabriel, you fool!"
"I told you to leave, and you did!"
It had only been a short time, and he had become so foolish.
Didn't he know that girls need to be coaxed?
Downstairs, Freddy and Gilbert saw Gabriel coming down alone with a disappointed expression and knew that the meeting between their parents had failed.
"Dad, did you go see Mom?"
"Yes, I saw your mom."
"Did Mom kick you out?"
"No, your mom is just a bit tired and said she wanted to sleep a bit more." Gabriel stubbornly replied.
Gilbert shook his head, sighing like a little adult, "Adults always tell us kids to be honest and not lie, but they always lie themselves. Actually, we are the most honest."
Gabriel felt particularly guilty after hearing this.
He reached out, touched Gilbert's hair, and then hugged him, "How did you know I was kicked out?"
"Just by looking at your expression! And if I were Mom, I would kick you out too."
"Why?"
"Since Dad left, Mom has been crying every day. Mom has had such a hard time. Now that you're back, you need to make it up to Mom, and pamper her even more."
"And I heard Aunt Chelsea say that you almost married a bad woman. Of course, Mom is angry! I'm angry too. If you weren't my dad, I wouldn't forgive you so quickly."
Hearing this, Gabriel felt nothing but guilt.
"I'm sorry, Gilbert. I lost my memory then and forgot all of you. Now I know I was wrong. Can you and Freddy forgive me?"
Gilbert and Freddy sighed simultaneously.
Then they said in unison, "Well, since you are our dad. You should be happy to have such well-behaved, understanding, and broad-minded sons."
Gabriel hugged them tightly, trembling with emotion.
"Thank you. I feel ashamed in front of you."
"We don't mind. Your most important goal now is to get along well with Mom. Let me tell you, to win Mom's favor, you need to start with what she likes the most."Gilbert looked at Freddy, "What do you think Mom likes the most?"
Freddy looked at them proudly, full of confidence, "Is that even a question? Of course, Mom likes me the most!"
Gilbert was silent.
"Freddy, quit being so full of yourself!"
Freddy was unconvinced, "Then what do you think Mom likes the most?"
"Mom likes me the most. You can only be second."
Gabriel fell silent, suspecting that Gilbert and Freddy were completely pulling one over on him.
Not only that, but they were also deliberately showing off in front of him.
In the end, Gilbert and Freddy argued passionately, their faces turning red as they debated their ranking in Jessica's heart.
When Jessica came downstairs, she found Gilbert and Freddy sulking on opposite sides, both giving each other the cold shoulder.
Seeing her, they both ran over, “Mom, Mom, we have a question for you.”
"What question?"
"Who do you like the most, me or Freddy?" Gilbert asked first, looking at Jessica with anticipation.
Freddy also looked at Jessica with anticipation.
Jessica gently took their hands, not in a hurry to answer.
Gilbert and Freddy were anxious.
"Mom, hurry up and tell us. Gilbert and I are comparing!" Freddy urged.
Jessica looked at them indulgently, then said, "Babies, I can only apologize to you. I can't lie. I like you dad the most."
