Chapter 830 I'm Willing to Marry
Caroline instantly clenched her hands tightly. "Grace, I really didn't do it. What will it take for you to believe me?"
"It seems your love for Mr. Taft isn't as selfless and great as it appears. In that case, I won't see you off!"
As soon as Grace finished speaking.
Suddenly, Caroline dropped to her knees.
Caroline's exposed knees were on the ground, and she looked at Grace with a pleading expression. "I know you won't believe me, but I never intended to kill you. I just wanted to scare you off."
"If you hate me, if you're angry with me, you can hit me, curse me, do whatever you want to me, but please save Quentin. Will you go see him? He's really dying!"
Grace looked over coldly. "Since you like to kneel, then keep kneeling. I'm going upstairs to rest."
Grace returned to her room and dialed Willie's number. "How is he? Still refusing to go to the hospital?"
"Yes!"
Willie's voice was extremely tired.
A group of people had tried everything to get Quentin to the hospital, but nothing worked.
Even the doctors they brought in were all kicked out.
"Then put the phone to his ear. I have something to say to him!"
"Okay."
Willie immediately nodded excitedly.
He ran, placing the phone to Quentin's ear while saying, "Mr. Taft, it's Ms. Morgan. She says she has something to tell you."
"Another trick!" Quentin said weakly with cracked lips.
His eyes were full of disbelief.
"Mr. Taft, this time it's real. I'm not lying to you."
Quentin didn't believe it, but he heard Grace's voice in his ear. "It's me, Grace. Quentin, let's meet when you get better!"
He could hardly believe his ears and nodded excitedly. "Okay, Grace, you really want to see me?"
"Yes, five days from now, I'll be waiting for you at the coffee shop I always go to!"
"Okay."
After hanging up, Grace went downstairs.
Caroline was still kneeling there.
It was nighttime, and Caroline was only wearing a dress and was shivering in the cold wind.
Seeing Grace come down, she immediately rushed over and hugged her. "Grace, you were once a couple. I'm begging you, please go with me!"
"Alright, as long as you cancel your engagement with him, I would go immediately, Caroline, would you agree?"
Caroline shook her head vigorously.
"No, Grace, don't even think about it. I will never agree."
"If that's your goal, then let me tell you, you won't achieve it. In this life, Quentin will only have one wife, and that's me. Give up!"
Grace looked over coldly. "Caroline, one day you'll understand that what you feel for Quentin isn't love; it's just possession and control."
"No, you're talking nonsense. I love Quentin. I love him more than you do."
Ignoring her, Grace went upstairs.
At that moment, Caroline received a call saying Quentin had been taken to the hospital.
She immediately got up and rushed over.
Three days later, Linda came to The Powell Manor.
This time, Grace had recovered a lot, with a bit of color on her face and looking much more spirited.
"Grace, as per your request, everything has been handled."
"Although you haven't been acting much lately, you've participated in many events and endorsements, so your income isn't low. After deducting all the termination fees, there's some left, which I've put on this card for you."
"Okay, thank you, Linda."
Thinking of the online comments, Linda asked, "Are you really not going to clarify?"
"It's all true, how can I clarify?" Grace said with a bitter smile.
"But the netizens have been arguing fiercely these past few days. I'm afraid it will affect you."
"It's okay. The entertainment industry is always like this. The hype comes and goes quickly. Maybe by tomorrow morning, no one will be talking about it. Besides, I've decided to leave the entertainment industry. I've seen through all the drama and don't care anymore."
Talking about Grace leaving the entertainment industry, Linda was filled with sadness.
"Grace," she said, choking up.
Grace smiled and held her hand. "Linda, it's not like we won't see each other again. We'll always be friends. You can call me anytime you miss me."
"So, what's your next plan?"
"First, I'll take a trip. There's a place I've wanted to visit for a long time."
Hearing this, Linda immediately warned, "Grace, we agreed that you can go to relax, but you absolutely can't disappear for years like last time, leaving no trace."
Grace nodded seriously and promised, "I won't. I'll be back in a month at most."
"By the way, Linda, don't release my statement about leaving the entertainment industry for now. Do it ten days later."
Linda knew what that day was—it was the day Quentin and Caroline were getting married.
Since Grace had decided to release the statement on that day, she must have planned to leave on that day.
"Okay, I've noted it down!"
At night.
Grace hesitated for a while but finally stood in front of Kenneth's study.
She was a bit nervous, so she kept comforting herself.
In the end, she decided to make Kenneth a cup of coffee before talking to him.
Just as she turned around, she heard the door open and Kenneth's voice behind her. "Grace? Do you need something?"
"Yes, I'll make you a cup of coffee first."
"Come back," Kenneth called out. "No need. I've already had three cups tonight. Do you think I can drink any more?"
"Okay!"
Seeing her hesitant expression, Kenneth took the initiative to speak. "Do you have something to say to me?"
"Yes, are you available now?"
"Sure, come in!"
In the study, Grace felt a bit uneasy.
Despite her nervousness, she mustered the courage to speak. "Mr. Powell, I wanted to ask if what you said before stands?"
"Which thing?"
"About marrying you, does that stand?" Taking a deep breath, Grace continued.
Then, she nervously watched Kenneth's face, eager to catch any subtle expression.
Although he had said it would always stand, what if it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing and he had long forgotten?
So she was very nervous now.
As she held her breath and waited, Kenneth looked over. "If I understand correctly, you're asking if you can marry me and become my wife?"
Grace nodded. "Yes, I agree. What about you? Are you willing to marry me?"
